Work great and very bright
For the cost of this item, it works very well, built tough, easy to operate. The most attractive point is that the sourse of light is LED, which consumer much less power, extending the life of the batteries. Great Buy.

Good Quality, Bright Strobe. A Little Bulky for My DeckVest
I purchased this strobe based on other positive reviews. It is a high quality construction, reported battery life is good, and the strobe is bright. As with almost all of these strobes, the size is just a little bulky. It does fit inside my Spinlock vest, but I wish it was a little smaller. I also couldn't figure out the clip for the inflation tube-ended up improvising the attachment. All-in-all, its a good light and serves its intended purpose. Even though I found it a little bulky, it seems a little less so than many models available.

Bought for Upcoming Long Distance Paddle
A buddy and I will kayak around the entire state of Florida this fall along the Florida Saltwater Paddle Trail. I wanted a strobe to attach to my PFD and after a bunch of research decided on this one. It's constructed well with tight waterproof seals. I like the automatic or manual activation settings. It comes complete with attachment straps and a lanyard. I rigged it over my left shoulder strap for easy access. BTW, it works great. Bright strobe with good flash frequency. It's a keeper.

I let it cool down and replaced it with new batteries and it ...
The strobe came on by itself last night while attached to a vest laying in the yard dry. When I found it the light body around the batteries was blistering hot. The batteries were so hot they burned my hand immediately upon removing them. I had the copper top in there. I let it cool down and replaced it with new batteries and it was hit and miss for operation. Not sure I want to trust a replacement now seeing this is for my 5 year old son. If he goes into the Baltimore channel at night by accident, I need his light to work automatically no issues. The same reason I have him in a type 1 PDF at night, or when we leave the river into the bay.Ok the second one failed before ever being attached tot he life jacket. The lens cover came off and the LED bulb popped out of the assembly. I DO NOT recommend this light or anyone. Can not be trusted with your life, certainly not your kids as I was counting on.

Misleading about manual operation
Now that I have the device in hand I notice it does not have a three position switch (Manual - On, Manual - Off, Auto - On/Off), but it has a two position switch (Manual - On, Auto - On/Off). With this configuration you cannot keep the light turned off manually. I can't see any sea kayaker who practices rolling or wet exits on a regular basis purchasing this light. Fortunately there is a version of this light that is purely manual (one switch, manually on or off) and I will be OK, but I ended up having to pay for expedited shipping to get it here before the weekend and it took a second call to UST to clarify their product line. The first call, prior to purchasing the device, was to confirm that I could manually turn off the device, which they assured me I could, but they never clarified which device I was asking about and I did not know there were two versions. I would advise UST to instruct their receptionist to no longer offer product advice and direct folks to the technical department (who were very helpful and pointed out there were two versions). As for the device construction it is very solid, and has two greased o-rings inside. Haven't tested it, but I have faith it will remain waterproof.

Strobe's OK, attachment is not
The strobe seems to work fine and will probably flash for hours with the lithium batteries (extra). The clumsy and not secure attachment ring/tab, whatever it is called, simply doesn't hold and it falls off at the slightest provocation. Will have to figure out how to attach it more securely to my PFD, with the strip of velcro that was provided.

It's time to upgrade to LED!
Huge improvement over the old ACR light that seemed to rule this market for so long. The ACR light always seemed like something that would be far too easy to mess up if plunged into cold water at night. This light is bright and auto activated. If you haven't swapped out your old emergency light for LED yet, it's time to upgrade now. Only criticism is that the light only operates as a strobe; would like to have the option to have it stay on without flashing.

Great product, great value.
I like this! Fifteen years ago when i bought our belt-pack, inflatable PFDs such a device was $65 to $100 or more. LED technology has brought the price down. I am putting them in our new belt pack PFDs.I am going to test them, burn them in: alkaline batteries, manual mode; test auto mode with some salt water; thoroughly wash with a drop of soap, fresh rinse. Then leave them on for 72 hours. Survivors go into service with lithium AA's, which are USCG 'good' for five years.I bought four. I received three that were in a smaller package than the fourth. The fourth is different, despite the part number, etc., being the same on the package. The LED and circuit board on the fourth is different. I tested them, and the fourth is not as bright, takes longer to turn on, whether manually or water-activated. It is less likely to turn on in non-salt water. It turns out the manufacture date of the fourth is Dec 2014, the others Oct 2015. Ordered another, the fourth is going back.Other than the older one, I'm thrilled with this product, and highly recommend it.

All Mouth and No Trousers
I don't know if it can be called a strobe - it's a flashing led - it sure ain't blinding likes the strobes I'm used to which are generated in a small flash tube off a high voltage generator. There are much brighter led torches, for less money, that are water proof and even lasers which carry for miles - this might be coast "gaurd" approved and it might look trick in it's yellow jacket but to me, it's all mouth and no trousers. It even comes with no batteries so until you buy batteries it's just a lump of plastic.

ものは良さそうですが
安全のためのものなのでしっかり機能することが一番ですが、値段が高い。ただ、電池交換できるし、長く使えるのではないかと思います。
