Great size and looks for an older, smaller home.
This sofa (love seat - 61 inches) arrived on time and in packaging that protected it from damage. I was able to get the box through my front door with the delivery person's assistance. I disassembled the box and moved the sofa to its intended room, piece by piece, by myself. This process took no longer than 5-7 minutes. Assembly was easy, despite the lack of directions in the package. (10-20 minutes) There were four big parts. The couch arrives in two bottom pieces and two back pieces. The cushions for each of the four parts (all of the parts actually) are inside each of the sections, held within by a Velcro covering on the back, which gives the sofa its finished look on its undersides. One of the bottom cushions is space packed and once the package was opened, it inflated to its original size and shape within minutes. The cushions for the four parts have covers that are packed separately and zip on. The backs of these covers are completed partially with sturdy black material and are not able to be reversed, as a result. The decorative pillows are as shown, plain (matches sofa) on one side and the print is on the other. The back of the sofa is covered in the same material as the front and you can use this sofa in the middle of a room, as a result. I received 6 matching wood legs, in total, that screw into drilled and prepared holes. Two of the legs for the middle are attached to each of the sides, on the bottom, but are placed nearer the back and are almost invisible when viewing your sofa from the front. The four parts are assembled with large, furniture assembly screws which have plastic handles so as to enable you to assemble without using any tools. The holes are drilled and prepared and labeled as to which way to place the screw into which side of the hole. I am 5'5" and find the sofa depth comfortable and I can put my feet on the floor. My husband is 6' and is happy with the purchase as well. He does not find it uncomfortable. Kids and young teens may be able to lounge across this sofa. However, if this is your primary intent for the sofa, you may be disappointed. It is comfortable for sitting and watching TV. The seats are not extremely firm, but not really soft either. (firmness is a 3 out of 5) You feel best seated in the center of each cushion, versus in the middle of the sofa. This fits the bill for my older home with 7ft ceilings and rooms smaller than 20X20ft. This size of sofa does not overwhelm the space. This quality is very difficult to find in furniture found in local stores. If you want to lounge on this couch, I think adding a foot stool or ottoman would work really well as I sometimes enjoy using the XBox storage ottoman when I watch TV, while sitting on this sofa.

A great deal for the money!
EDIT: I initially gave the couch 4 stars however have since removed 3 of them. The beam in the middle broke with two adults sitting on it. One adult weighed 165 and the other about the same. Complete waste of money and now I have to buy a new couch again. This couch is very flimsy and made with a very light wood so buyer beware! The couch came in a rather small box so I was slightly dismayed however once unpacked it looked to contain a normal couch sized parts! Assembly was a breeze: no tools needed, took about 35 minutes and I put it together all by myself (yay!). The couch is very light, to note, not heavy at all as it seems to contain absolutely minimal metal parts (if any at all aside from the screws) and the wood is very light. Its a dark chocolate color, looks lighter in the pics online but is more of a Hershey kiss color (beautiful color either way). A word of advice: as stated in the instructions, FLUFF THE PILLOWS before inserting into the covers! I see complaints about flat cushions and had I not read the instructions I never would've fluffed mine so once unpacked and opened, fluff THEN stuff, once they are in the cover they expand, no fluffing after that. Lastly, it comes with two accent pillows, one side matches the fabric of the couch and the other is geometric shapes in shades of brown and gold. 4 stars, not 5, because the couch is so light I am wondering just how much wear and/or weight it can take however will leave the review as-is until that last star is earned :)

Nice little sofa - easy assembly, comfortable and a great value for the money
I ordered this sofa-in-a-box after some unexpected plumbing repairs took all the money I had saved for a new furniture-store sofa. It seems like most inexpensive sofas of this type are not well-made and fall apart pretty quickly, so I did a lot of research trying to find the most reliable manufacturer. Serta won hands-down for reviews mentioning both easy assembly and a sturdy build. I also wanted a mid-size (apartment-size) sofa, and this one was perfect. The sofa arrives in one big box. Once unpacked you see four main pieces, along with several flyers asking you to PLEASE LOOK INSIDE in big red letters. What they mean is that the lining flaps on the underside of the seat pieces are velcro'd and can be pulled open (gently, I was too vigorous and tore one) and inside are the remaining pieces to put the sofa together. And you will find the back cushions stuffed inside the back seat pieces; pull those out. Once everything is laid out, assembly is straightforward and not too difficult, with clear instructions and numbering. The only problem I ran into is one that others have mentioned; one of the eyebolt holes on the side of the frame had been drilled about a quarter-inch away from where it should have been, so it wasn't possible to bolt that side of the frame until I drilled a new hole in the proper place. There were also a couple of places where no hole had been punched in the lining to accommodate the screw hole underneath, so I had to feel for those places and then cut a hole myself with a work knife. Other than that, assembly was smooth and quick (less than 45 min from unboxing to sitting on it.) Photo is of couch immediately after assembly; the cushion stuffing loosens up and settles a bit after a few hours, so the lump or two you see here went away. Once assembled, it is a comfortable if slightly firm sit that feels very sturdy. I'm glad it is a little too firm now, as sofa cushions always soften with use and they will be ideal once they break in. The frame feels sturdy and supportive and the arms and back-pieces are well-padded. I wish the back pillow cushions were a little firmer, but it will be easy to fix that just by adding more stuffing -- all of the cushions have zip covers, a nice feature since they can be taken off and washed if needed. The fabric is a little bit of a disappointment, though, it feels a rough and a little too thin. I have now covered most of the sofa with a slipcover throw, which eliminated that issue. Overall, I'd say this was an excellent buy and I'm very pleased with it.

Good cheap couch.
We are in our 50's, empty nesters with two Boxers, living in one of our small rental houses while our next house is under construction. We needed something to sit on to watch TV and considered purchasing a couch from Ikea for $399 (their cheapest couch). The Serta RTA couches were on sale at Amazon for $245.63 (this includes free shipping and tax) each. Rye Brown was the cheapest color so we went with Rye Brown. They arrive quickly (quicker than Amazon originally indicated) and in unimaginable small boxes. Hubby put them together very quickly. Couches look truly awesome and come with two very nice pillows (a surprise). The seat area is very cushy and wide enough to support the knees. The backrest does not go up very high and therefore, the neck is not supported enough for me to be long-term comfortable. For that one reason, these will not become our main couch in the new house. The fabric is soft and feels durable and well-constructed. They are very comfortable for the short term. They are dog tested! Our two Boxers LOVE the couches -- No complaints from Obie and Petunia. These couches look and feel much nicer than $245 (that is why we bought two). The couches have a 500 pound (250 per side) weight limit. That is not an issue for us just adding it in the interest of being thorough. Now for the one bad thing about our purchase...one of the couches has a wonky leg. It was not wonky when my husband put them together, it occurred after a couple days of use. I have done nothing to investigate to see if this is an easy fix or not. I do not want to discourage anyone from buying the cough – just felt I should tell the whole story. I have included a picture. It might be easy to remedy -- it might be a defect that cannot be fixed. I do not know. The reason I gave the couches 5 stars is that for $245, these couches ROCK. Love them. We will not use them in the next house as our main couch but one will go in the guest room -- our kids are already arguing about who gets the other couch when we move in March. If the couches were full price, the 5 stars would be a close call not because of looks, but because of the neck support issue. I am including pics of the couches as well as the one with the wonky leg. We covered the couches with blankets to keep the dog hair/dirt issue under control (you can see the blanket in the wonky leg picture). If you are looking for a plush, good-looking couch for a very cheap price, this is your couch.

Love it and hate it
Love it or hate it? I can't figure it out yet! I have had the couch for over 2 months and I can't figure it out. Overall I love the look of it, the material is great soft and color is beautiful. It was so easy to assemble, it took me and my husband about 30 min. It seems very sturdy thus far, the accent pillows are very nice and you can't beat the price. I bought it to match another brown couch that was given to me. I have 3 young boys and a husband and I have notice they all prefer to sit on the other couch. I DON'T blame them! The back rest is not too high and if ur going to be on it for a while it is not comfy. I like to lay down and watch a movie but it is kinda narrow, I have to move the back pillows to have enough shoulders space and be comfortable. I would of liked the back pillows to be more full. I tried to add filling from pillows and it looked really nice but that made the sitting/laying space even more narrow so I took the extra filling out. Overall I think the couch is beautiful but I rather look at it than sit on it. I would not make this a primary couch, maybe best for guest room or extra living room. Update I have had the couch for over a year and feel the same about it, it hasn't gotten worst and it's still holdin up good. Except for the backrest pillows they cracking through the middle and looked broken and falling apart so I had to buy new sturdier stuffing looks better now but it just sucked!

Great small couch
We have a small (and awkwardly laid out) living room. This couch arrived on time, was easy to assemble, and fits perfectly. It has a faint smell of plastic or something, but I expect that to fade away as it airs out. My first impression of the fabric was that it looks better in person than I remembered thinking it did in these reviews. The patterned pillows are nice as well. It's not super deep, like a couple other reviewers mentioned, but I am ok with that because it'd take up a lot more space if it was any deeper. I have three small boys, so it will likely take a beating. For now, the low price, fast shipping, easy assembly, sturdy frame, and nice look get this couch 5 stars. I will update this in a couple months to let you know how it holds up! For size reference, I included a photo of myself and my large 2 year old enjoying the loveseat (taken by my 4 year old). I'm thin, but 5' 9.5" tall and find the size comfortable. 3/12/16 Edit: In the past 4 months this little couch has endured lots of jumping on, snack crumbs, one peepee accident, one vomit incident, a coffee spill, a couple mystery smears, and general daily little boy dirtiness. IT STILL LOOKS GREAT. This is mostly thanks to the magic of windex (it works fantastic on carpets and the microfiber material this couch is made of). A little hack that I think you should consider - while you're here on amazon, buy a couple of waterproof bed pads or crib mattress liners and sneak them over the cushions before you put the covers on! This will save your couch. I have washed the covers in my washer and dried on low and they come out looking new. One of the pillows has a couple broken threads in the design, but other than that i am happy with how its holding up.

Sorry I bought this.
You cannot honestly call this a sofa or a couch. It is a loveseat. Maybe slightly longer than regular loveseat but still not in any imagination a real couch. The fabric is as shown. Nice chocolate brown. HOWEVER, the stench is outrageous. I know these things are sprayed with some chemical before they ship but it should not be so overpowering. I bought plenty of couches before and none of them actually stunk. This is what happens when you buy crap made in China, right out of the box, I guess. Assembly was VERY SIMPLE. It did take about 30-40 min between me and my 11 year old son. The "couch" is also really lightweight when assembled. My cat bounced on it off the wall and the couch moved about 6 inches out...No kidding. Also the cushions, although very soft and comfy, are not wide enough to be considered a full cushion. They are long enough for sure but you cannot comfortably sit with your legs crisscrossed in front of you (my usual couch position) unless you are a small child. There is nothing to do be now, I will live with it for a year and then replace it with something I will find at a store and "try on" before purchasing. I hate shopping in stores, but I guess when you buy furniture you should actually see, touch and, in this case, smell it before buying.

78" rye brown sofa
Had this sofa for a week, we love it! It was easy to put together; I did it alone. However, the instructions are apparently from an older model, the difference being the middle feet. Don't worry, once you take a look at the bottom you'll see that you just screw the middle feet in the same as the side feet. The sofa is firm but comfortably so. The back cushions are overstuffed and will probably need fluffing every couple weeks or so. According to the manufacturer, each seat cushion can support up to 250lbs. They also recommend re-tightening the screws every couple of months. I had no problem with mold or anything like a previous reviewer. It was all clean and in new condition. The brown color is nice and rich, the fabric feels somewhere between velvet and a sort of fine-grain corduroy. Very pleased. Update: Well it's been four months and I wanted to give a little update. After daily use the cushions started to get a little lumpy and misshapen, so I just ran the covers through the washer for the first time, on cold and gentle dry cycle and the sofa is back to looking (and feeling) like new. The instructions recommend tightening the handscrews every so often (I think it said 90 days) so make sure you do. After 90 days it was starting to creak and the handscrews had loosened quite a bit. Still very happy. I'm not sure if this will last years and years, I just want it to get me through the toddler and preschool ages. Very nice sofa, can't believe how inexpensive it was.
