Even for beginners! - I am just a beginner and so the following views may appear crude to some. I am but a drawing enthusiast! Great book to learn technical drawings. Equally good for those in India who never have had any experience in drawing but want to self-learn and excel in the field. This is where one can begin with. For engineers, some of the chapters will very well relate with the undergraduate course on engineering drawing. Except, it later leans on the artistic side, which is the prime goal for wannabe artists who love to accurately draw cars, planes and any such machines, imaginary or real, but aesthetically pleasing or even mesmerizing! I am an engineer by profession and consequently bought this book to develop a hobby that once was part of my life (in school days, like many of you). This book is a complete course for self-learning individual on a beginners stage. My goal, as I'd like to think of it, is to learn every thing there is about drawing and colors. I find it satisfying and worth to spend my life on. This book feels great to start with. Great balance between the number of illustrations and accompanying text. The brevity is impeccable. Great print! It also has a AI based image recognition app that scans some of the drawings in books and then plays a corresponding tutorial video of how the said drawing was approached, by none other the Mr. ROBERTSON. My only regret is that I should have bought it in Hardcover instead of paperback. PS: Also, I am trying to learn human anatomy, in parallel with this outstanding book. If anybody could suggest me a book of the same caliber, I shall be really thankful! Thanks guys. Review: Best book for beginners. - Best for Students who want to learn designing.

You need to get this at some point in your artistic journey.
How can anyone not give this book a complete five stars? This man is the master of technical perspective. And teaches you loads of things. For any aspiring artist/engineer, this is a must have. Although I suggest if you're a beginner, you should read perspective made easy by Ernest. R. Norling first and then move onto this. But ultimately it's your choice. This is well worth the price.

Amazing book, but not for a beginner
This book is absolutely amazing. It teaches you how to mirror shapes and curves, draw complicated symmetrical objects, create environments, draw automobiles to perfection and a lot more. But, all in all it is a very technical book and I would not recommend it to a beginner, as the basics of perspective drawing have not been explained really well. The book assumes you understand that to begin with. That said, there are really good books out there to understand perspectives. I'd recommend a book titled "Perspective made easy" and then warm ourselves up to this book.

Great book, but received it in a bit damaged condition.
The book was received in a bit of damaged condition plus the book was covered in dust, otherwise the rest is all good. Awesome book, everything is explained from basics, a very interactive book. This books explains how we see objects in our daily life and draw them as we see it. Use of perspective is explained in great dept. Step-by-step guidelines and visuals(drawings) are included which gives us the urge to follow through those steps.

A book worth it's weight in gold.
I was initially reluctant looking at the price and I am glad I chose otherwise. One of the reason for the price maybe the print and paper quality. You will know what I am talking about when you hold the book. The only thing better than this book would be sitting in a class taught by the author. Highly recommend to anyone starting their journey in drawing. All the best.

The foundations needed to master drawing
This book guides the reader through a well constructed learning path. It puts a lot of emphasis on how to start and the fundamentals of how to draw. I find that a lot of content out here, be it videos or other books show you a final image drawn by an accomplished artist that doesn't show any of the construction and understanding needed to get to that level of proficiency. For me where this book really excels is its breakdown of every technique you need to master before you can draw a great image, before you can draw free of construction. Drawing is about persistence and smart practice. If you want to draw your own concepts free from a reference you need to know how objects are constructed, this is what you will get from this book. The supporting video content is invaluable, and Scott/thomas often stress that it is being played in real time speed so that the viewer gets a real feel for what it takes to produce the final result (a distinctly different impression from all of the sped up drawings available on youtube) I would like to see a lot more authors add this level of depth to their 'How to' books.

Gran libro, gran maestro

Detaljrik lärobok i teckning
