Orbit 58214N Impact Sprinkler

I got tired of the plastic sprinklers breaking after very short time periods, so I decided to go with something all metal, if pricier. This has done exactly what it is supposed to do, and works as described. All steel and brass construction, the spike and step can be hammered in if necessary, and the adjustments all work well. The only downside on this is that it does need a good bit of water pressure to operate properly, and doesn't have as long of a range as some others, but for short and medium throw situations, you can't go wrong with this sprinkler.

I'm somewhere between a 3 and a 4, but I'll be gracious and give these 4 stars. Easy to hook up and for the most part, very sturdy. Water pressure is great and they cover a significantly greater distance, in my opinion, than the plastic sprinklers I used to have. The only downsides I've encountered so far include: 1) If the ground is hard beneath the soil layer the spikes will snap if you try to force the issue. Ilive in Northern VA where clay is the prominent soil type and on both occasions when I've attempted to use a hammer to squeeze an extra inch or two of depth, the ends of the stakes have snapped. Fortunately I'm able to still use them; 2) The pin that flips back and forth when doing <360 degree watering sometimes gets stuck. There's no rhyme or reason for this, so I've had to twist the pin slightly so that the sprinkler can oscillate back and forth. I also noticed when I angle the water to a shallower distance the pin does not get stuck?? Solid product, but be prepared to get accustomed to the sprinkler. I just ordered two more so I'll update if the experience improves/deteriorates.

now that i know how to actually use these sprinklers they are great! mostly durable but one already broke off in the ground but it still is able to stand up and use.

Very reliable. Lasts a long time before wearing out. Extremely adjustable for length coverage and defined area Type of spray is also adjustable. Wouldn't buy any others.

I purchased a Orbit 58214N Impact Sprinkler for my husband. The rotation did not work from day one, so we just moved it from one spot to another. Today, I was using it and all of a sudden, it made one rotation and then stopped. I knew we received a broken sprinkler. I tried to return the item and there is no place for RETURNS on my order. I tried to contact Orbit, but again, I can't find a place for returning a product. It looks like it is well made, but I think it is just broken and it looks like I am stuck with it.

The product itself worked great and I was very happy with it until today when I attempted to move locations. It broke while I was placing it into the ground. I am not a large person, I weigh 120lb. I was careful to step on the correct portion of the sprinkler. The bottom snapped off, hopefully I'll still be able to use it. Would've been a 5 star review if not for the fragile structure.

Very good backyard sprinklers for me. I love these things. With adequate water pressure they put out a really nice stream that covers a good 20-30 feet easily. In fact, I am particularly impressed for the price. The hardware that allows you to adjust the arc these cover is simple, but it is of a decent material that appears to be durable and rust resistant. The diverter screw that allows you to adjust the spray distance is just okay, but it does work for the intended purpose and is, again, very simple and intuitive to use. Basically, those are the only real adjustments these accommodate but that is adequate for me. You can angle them a little bit by how you put them in the ground as well. Of course we have pretty soft soil too, so the spike is plenty durable for my purposes. I am also using two of these in sequence and that seems to work well also. There is a little loss of water pressure but I have a 50 foot hose to the first one, followed by a 75 footer to the second so I kind of expected this. Overall these work great for their intended purpose. Highly recommended.

Great quality sprinklers. Not the easiest to set stop and start limits but if using in the same place every day they work great and will handle the hot sun ok for many years.
