Moleskine Art Notebook, Hard Cover, Large (5" x 8.25") Plain/Blank, Black, 72 Pages

I love the watercolor journal paper. It accepts any medium I throw at it - watercolor, ink, acrylic paint pens and alcohol ink pens. The paper allows time to make watercolor corrections if you make a mistake - color is liftable. Paper is thick enough so nothing bleeds through and the notebook is so portable. I also love the pocket to carry reference photos and the template included. My favorite journal!

I’ve been searching for a sketchbook that would take paints and markers and not bleed through. This is so beautifully made and it’s the first sketchbook I’ve had (and I have tried so so many) that I can paint on the back of pages! I don’t leave many reviews and I feel moved to review this.

Bought another sketchbook that I’m now too anxious and self-conscious to draw in, so now it’s sitting on a pile of incomplete and empty sketchbooks. 5/5 I’ll probably do it again.

The sketchbook is AMAZING for watercolor, I have yet to find another sketchbook that can hold watercolor like this one can. The pages can't hold alcohol markers very well though, those will still bleed through. My only complaint about the sketchbook is the amount of pages. On here it says there are 72 pages, which I think is a little misleading. Forgive me if i'm being dumb, but I thought that meant 72 SEPERATE pages. I counted and there are actually 36 pages (It's only 72 if you're counting the front and back of each page.)

Love this watercolor journal! Its so sturdy, opens flat, has a elastic band to secure the book when shut, and is hardcover. The paper is 25% cotton and acid free. Has the same texture on both sides and can be painted on both sides with no bleed through. Minimal warping even with multiple layers of watercolor, and has an expandable back pocket. Also, the paper label can be used as a compass. I love the reusable packaging. I love to use the 5 x 8.5” as my plain air sketchbook. Perfect size to bring on the go.

This is by far the most fantastic watercolor book I have tried. I have tried A LOT! I have always just been disappointed with the water distribution and how my professional grade watercolors look. Dare I say that this book is comparable to Arches????? This is going to be my only watercolor journal that I purchase from now on.

Paper isn't super heavyweight so you have to be careful with the amount of water, but I've really been enjoying using this sketchbook for watercolor and gouache studies. Will likely buy again once I'm done with this one :)

Although it isn't cotton watercolor paper, this works pretty well for watercolour, ink and gouache. The paper is heavy enough so their is no - or at least minimal warping depending on how much water you use and how many layers you paiint. The binding and covers are high quality and can go in and out of my bag over and over without damage.

Ich habe mir das Skizzenbuch gekauft um es für Bleistift Skizzen zu verwenden und ich muss sagen dass es dafür am besten geeignet ist. Das Papier hat einen ganz leichten Elfenbein-Ton, also es ist nicht reinweiß, was ich auch super finde. Außerdem ist die Oberfläche des Papieres schön glatt damit man auch detailliert skizieren kann. Das Arbeiten mit wasserbasierten Filzstiften und Linern funktioniert auch super ohne dass man auf der Rückseite etwas durchsieht. Nur für alkoholbasierte Stifte (wie z.B. die Copic Marker) ist das Buch nicht geeignet da die Farben durchbluten. Was auch noch erwähnenswert ist, ist dass die Bindung innen am Rücken des Buchs nicht geleimt ist sodass man egal auf welcher Seite man sich befindet die volle Seite zu Gesicht bekommt ohne die Seiten niederdrücken zu müssen. Fazit: Wer auf der Suche ist nach einem stabilen, zuverlässigen Skizzenbuch ist hier richtig und kann ohne Bedenken zuschlagen.
