Works fine but you have to configure the correct dll files in ISE first
This works fine however Xilinx software ISE and iMPACT do not work on windows 8 or 10 unless you do the following : (Example for ISE 14.7 but works for other versions too) 1) Open the following directory: C:\Xilinx\14.7\ISE_DS\ISE\lib\nt64 2) Find and rename libPortability.dll to libPortability.dll.bak 3) Make a copy of libPortabilityNOSH.dll in the same directory and rename the new file as libPortability.dll to replace the file in step 2. 4) Make a second copy of libPortabilityNOSH.dll but paste it into C:\Xilinx\14.7\ISE_DS\common\lib\nt64 5) Repeat step 2 by creating a backup of the libPortability.dll found in this folder. 6) Rename libPortabilityNOSH.dll to libPortability.dll Once this is done you should be able to run Xilinx ISE and Impact without issue.

This DLC9G cable does not work
Update: I tried two of these devices and had to send both back. Firstly the support documentation for this is non-existent. I hook this up to my PC and the Status LED does not give any indication of detection by the PC. I uninstalled my ISE and re-installed it hoping that would reload the drivers (a lengthy process), but that did not work. I went to the Xilinx site and downloaded and installed the drivers and that did not work. I contacted the vendor multiple times, who basically sent me rudimentary instructions (mostly in chinese) that did not work. They even pleaded with me to remove this feedback because I had received a refund (which I haven't as of yet - my status still says return started) Basically this device is a dud. I went and bought a Xilinx JTAG SMT2 instead which worked right out of the box and was %10 cheaper. This is the error I see in IMPACT: PROGRESS_START - Starting Operation. Connecting to cable (Usb Port - USB21). Checking cable driver. Source driver files not found. The Platform Cable USB is not detected. Please connect a cable.If a cable is connected, please disconnect and reconnect to the usb port, follow the instructions in the 'Found New Hardware Wizard', then retry the Cable Setup operation. Cable connection failed. PROGRESS_END - End Operation. Elapsed time = 1 sec. Cable autodetection failed. WARNING:iMPACT:923 - Can not find cable, check cable setup !

Unhappy with Technical Support
Hi, this is my second DLC9G unit. For some reason this unit has output pins in a different order. I had to rewire my programming fixture. The PCB design has parts too close to plastic mounting boss. I was curious is they had some series R to isolate the unit from bad or incorrectly inserted ICs. When I opened the unit (which voids warranty) I found that C29 (right next to plastic mounting boss was torn off. So I emailed and asked about those issues I was told they don't give out that info. So I figured it out myself the hard way. Vendor was not much help. There is an output series resistor, 33 ohms. The output drivers are NC7SC126. C29 is a .01uf 0603 from Inductor 1 to GND. I didn't see a series R so I hope the input filter does not have a high Q. So its not a bad unit (if it works) but the vendor should be in a better position to help customers.

Works great, but Installing drivers is a hassle
I bought this to use on an Ubuntu Linux desktop for programming the Numato Mimasv2 (a Xilinx Spartan-6 based FPGA). Works great, but getting the drivers installed on Ubuntu was a pain. Additionally, documentation came on a CD. But I don't have any computers with a CD drive, so the documentation was useless. Also, this is the DLC9G model "Platform Cable USB". The product picture shows this, but the product description doesn't mention it. This model has slightly different installation instructions than the more recent DLC10.

Works Just Fine!
I have now used this JTAG device at least ten times and it works flawlessly! The cable adapters included with this unit made it easy to interface to the boards I am programming.

Before purchasing check comments, reach out to vender for more info
I thought for a while I just had drivers setup incorrectly. However, after reading these posts I am starting to wonder if this programmer is not correct one for my fpga. I picked up an EBAZ4205 board earlier this summer and picked this up thinking it would work. Through some deep research though I have discovered that if this is in fact the DL9G model then it should not work with Zynq family fpgas found in the Xilinx documentation. Please feel free to respond to this if you have found otherwise. I think that it would be a good idea in the future to specifically list all of the device families that this programmer works for. I hope this feedback helps out.

I bought this programmer for the xc9572xl blue board found on eBay and red board from dangerousprototypes, works perfect, must download driver zip from xilinx and run the bat file to install, found by IMPACT and works really fast! Perfect for newbies leaning fpga and cpld's.
