Was easy to install but DO NOT underestimate the project and take your time. 1. Best advice I read was to use a mm tape measured. LIFE SAVER! 2. 2nd best advice was to trust the measurements. What was written is what I used and everything was spot on. 3. I did not have a header nor were we able to hit the joist/2x’s but we used the best butterfly anchors from Home Depot and it’s extremely sturdy. I fabricated my own door that weighs about 70lbs tops. We did have to recess the roller mounts into our door a tad with a dremel because it was about 1/4 inch thicker than allowable. All in all…..worked out great and I will be ordering again for our laundry room barn door!

Very well made and sturdy but large and bulky. Not suitable for a hallway because of its size. I had to send back because of this.

Great door... Top track is solid with nice stops, but not so great bottom track. Cheap plastic. Broke within a year, but I was able to repair.

Limited options for this solution, tricky to install or modify but looks nice and operates smoothly once all dialed in.

This hardware has caused us the biggest headache. My company lost a lot of money fixing various issues that this hardware has caused with a barn door project we installed. I did contact the company about the issue and while they were trying to be somewhat helpful they did try to blame the issue on my clients ceiling being unlevel. This was definitely not the problem as I see another customer had the same issue we are having. The hardware is a terrible design and causes the door to swing out on the bottom. The company made a suggestion that we try to clamp it in place with some extra rollers on the bottom. While they supplied the rollers for free they did ask us to pay for the shipping. This did not solve the issue at all and we ended up wasting more time and money. I am only writing this review to help other people not make the same mistake we made by installing a door with this hardware. The holes that you have to drill for the rollers are HUGE and you will not be able to salvage the top of the door if you decide to try it out anyway.

Worked well for a tight space in a cabin. I was able to cut the bar to fit the space as the end caps are removable and can be easily put back into place after sizing the bar. The hardware is of good quality and the rollers are smooth. Measure 10x and be sure you can anchor into a joist or other solid material above the ceiling.

The quality and sturdiness of this unit is amazing at any price, and at this price, a true bargain. Even the end plugs are machined stainless, with o-rings as a friction/sealer. We are able to build a custom size door for a difficult basement installation, and were worried that the required ceiling mount solution would reduce the end result (as your attention is drawn to the track). With this level of design and finish, feast your eyes! PS: Installation takes some measurement and care, and truthfully you need a header board versus trying to use drywall plugs (I did not even try that solution; I would strongly recommend against that to avoid a door collapse as vertical plugs coupled with vibration/shaking as the door is used is NOT A GOOD SOLUTION). However, mounting to a board that attaches to the joists is an easy answer. EDIT: I have never posted an edit before, but thought it would be helpful given other negative comments that I thought are not very fair. Firstly: this is a side mounted roller that does not support the door from the top center, which allows a tight fit to the ceiling to create a passage door. As such, BY DESIGN the bottom must be supported (as the door swings out, as the center of gravity aligns). They provide floor guides that can be installed in a hidden slot in the bottom of the door, or you can get other guides. This is a plus in most installations, as it keeps the door from rubbing the baseboard and wall as it slides back and forth, and we did a slot on the bottom less 1/2 on either side so it stays hidden. Second, as noted the drywall mount is not really an option, and yes, the supports are not joist matching (although joists have a variety of spacing, so.....). You must use a header. Third, this is very sensitive to ceilings not being flat, as you are aligning screws in largely unyielding metal pipe over a long run. CHECK YOUR CEILING FOR FLAT! Not level, but flat, and you may need to shim (in our case I punched holes in the ceiling drywall and used spacers to anchor to the joists, and then shimmed them slightly to keep a flat plane). However, over 8 ft I was out by a couple of mm, and that required some twisting to align screw holes. Fourth, the dimensions provided are spot on; I wasted time checking things after other comments only to come to the conclusion that they are right. Incomplete as to overall dimensions is not deceptive. With all of that said, in the right application, this is an incredible value.

This is really the only option that I could find to hang a barn door without a header over the doorway. It is ceiling mounted with provided drywall anchors that I’m sure are more than strong enough but my door was a little on the heavy side so I reinforced the anchor point with studs in the ceiling from the attic. The materials are of high quality stainless steel and all provided hardware and screws are top quality and strong. I would recommend upgrading floor guides for the door to a much sturdier metal option opposed to the supplied plastic guides. The included instructions are useless except for the dimensions for mounting the rollers to the door. Otherwise I recommend installing to suit your needs. I also recommend installing the brackets to the ceiling but leaving them slightly loose, then mount the roller tube to the ceiling brackets and tighten everything. It allows for some minor adjustments. The door stops at either end seem to be more than strong enough with the piercing screw. All in all I’m very satisfied and like I said if you have a doorway without a header this is really your only option. Highly recommend this hardware for your barn door. Great product!
