Unlike some who have posted about wrong or missing hardware I thankfully had absolutely no problems. I like the rest, it's a bit sturdier than I had expected but it's not heavy at all, just about 5lbs. The rest has hooks on the front and rear cradles but no straps were included. I'll update after range day. I do have to say that Birchwood Casey doesn't have "Tech" support. I asked a question about assembly and was told to return it, what?

Bought this shooting rest to sight in my 22-250. Was easy to assemble (don't believe reviews that say it isn't). Took me less than 30 minutes to put it together. Took it to the range yesterday, worked great, gun dialed in dead-on at 100 yds

Very robust. Metal plastic coated tubing with sturdy plastic moulding at either end. Better value for money than the plastic gun mount by the same people, but heavier. Identical v shaped holders at each end. The centre of the height adjustment wheel is metal (brass?) The threaded support is also metal. I found the assembly of these two items from the top works best before adding the v mount. Hooks for elasticated retainers on v support, but no elastic. Presume it is optional. When it comes to the length adjustment fittings in the forward tube, I found a problem with the mounting bolts. I advise you do not fully tighten the concave end of the tube to the front bracket as it may mean that the alignment of the outlying holes for the second bolt might not fit. Also the plastic coating reduces the size of these holes, which I had to file out with a round file to enable the bolt to fit. That means I can’t return it and is a future potential source of rust.

This is a nice value for someone who needs a simple gun rest. It holds my rifles where I need them without tipping over. Whether I’m cleaning, adjusting my scope or anything else, this is a good piece of equipment. I like that it’s adjustable for various sizes and configurations and suits all the basic needs. The quality is good, it’s lightweight and can be used for a variety of different functions. Would recommend as a good starter rest for someone who isn’t doing serious gunsmithing and just needs something for moderate use.
