RCA RFR321-FR320/8 IGLOO Mini Refrigerator, 3.2 Cu Ft Fridge, Stainless Steel

I purchased this fridge last August (2015) while I was working on my rental house in Southern California. I had tenants bail on me after doing much damage that I had to tend to from 500 miles away. I had initially started my trips in May and I brought a large ice chest with me. I was making trips every two weeks...two weeks home and then two weeks at the rental. When I was at the rental I had to buy ice every other day to keep the ice chest cool. It was really, really hot and the ice melted quickly. I literally drained water out of lunch meat packages and had to blot my cheese just to make sandwiches. I was walking through Home Depot with my handyman one day to get supplies for repairs and there was a mini-fridge on display. It looked nice but was almost two hundred bucks. Later I went on Amazon and found this fridge. I only wish I had looked sooner! By the time I bought this fridge in August, I had literally paid more for ice since May than what this fridge cost me. I did read the reviews first and was concerned that most purchasers had received damaged items and stated the packaging was very poor. I held my breath, crossed my fingers, and placed my order. It arrived promptly...really quick! I have to say that yes, the packaging is really bad. Really bad. The box covering the unit seems original with the item nicely photographed and your standard descriptions of the unit. However, there is literally no bottom to the box!! There are shipping straps affixed that wrap the unit to hold it into the 3/4 of the box. Styrofoam "planks" are under the unit so that most of it won't touch the ground. I snipped off the straps, pulled the box up and inspected my fridge. Thankfully, I had no major dents on the exterior of the unit as some customers reported, but one if the leveling legs was broken. Remember, there is literally no bottom to this shipping box! NO BOTT0M! Okay, so...I placed this unit in the garage and followed the included instructions as far as plugging it in, setting the temperature dial and waiting for the unit to be ready to place items into it. The instructions said to plug it in and wait three (3) hours before placing items into the fridge. It arrived at about 11:30 am. I had it in place in the garage and plugged-in at about 12:00pm. The compressor fired right up and I was putting my stuff inside by 3:30 that afternoon! No more soggy sandwiches! Also, the freezer did freeze! I went to the store a couple of days later and bought some small frozen dinners. Mind you, I was sleeping on an air mattress in a totally vacant house. Spending tons of money on repairs so going out to eat was not an option! Being able to put a couple of frozen entrees into the freezer was epic! The exterior of this unit is just frankly gorgeous. I got the stainless steel version. I has a black glossy top and sides. It looks like a million bucks! It's sturdy but not unmanageable. I carried it myself from the garage into the house while the garage floor was coated, albeit slowly and carefully. I carried it back into the garage when I left. My new tenants are aware that it is to remain in place for my personal use. If you follow the included directions you cannot go wrong with this unit. I am super thrilled with mine!! I give the actual unit 5 stars. The packaging however, rates only one star. I have no idea how these get packaged the way they do but it is a concern. I would advise to make this purchase. Even if the exterior has damage, for the price you simply can't do better. Oh, and you can configure the interior as you wish. Real shelves! More room than you might think at first glance.

We use this for camping. As a second fridge outside the camper. Load it up with drinks and it gets ice cold inside a couple of hours. Works great!

Ideal space for my room. Fits beautifully. It gets really cold too. I just use it for drinks since I usually don't have room in my kitchen refrigerator. The previous mini fridge that I had broke so this is what I purchased to replacement. I really like this one better. I miss that it doesn't have a drawer at the bottom, but there is still room to put a row of cans at the bottom. I do like the can holders that are in the door. My previous mini fridge had a vertical spot for the cans, and you had to pull from the bottom to get to the drink. If you had a drink you wanted in the middle, it was hard to get to. I really like the setup this fridge has. It has individual spots for cans or a couple little mini shelves as well. Everything is much easier to access. I also like that in the door there is space for taller bottles. Like I said earlier it gets really cold especially on the top shelf. I have had cans freeze, some to the point of slushy, some to the point of frozen solid and I even had one explode in the fridge. I need to adjust the settings. I don't mind if some drinks get a little slushy, but I do not want to have to clean up after exploding cans. Overall though, this was a great purchase. I really like the layout and the size. It was a great value for the price.

Good fridge capacity, freezer not so much, looks great nice and quiet don't even hear it run keeps all of my stuff right at the temperature where i set it. so far so working great

UPDATE: We've made valiant efforts to use this small fridge but it's just a piece of junk. It came without a manual. After a few days of putting in food, etc. it froze everything near the freezer area; there were no instructions on defrosting it other than unplugging it. Went to website for support but there was NO SUPPORT FOR SMALL APPLIANCE, ONLY LARGE REFRIGERATORS! AND NO SUPPORT FOR MISSING ITEMS EITHER. AMAZON HAS FAILED IN ITS ATO Z GUARANTEE POLICY. WE NOW HAVE TO DISCARD THIS FRIDGE AS IT HAS RUINED ALL THE FOOD WE STORED IN IT FOR JUST A FEW DAYS. AND BOTH AMAZON AS WELL AS THE SELLER IS SIMPLY ABSENT TP PROVIDE US THE HELP WE REALLY NEED! PART I: I just received this little fridge. Unpacked it last night—which was very easy, although I would have preferred to have the instruction booklet as soon as I opened the box, rather than waiting until EVERYTHING was unpacked, untaped, etc. and the fridge door was open, when the sparsely informative booklet fell out. I had too many questions that were not answered. Most importantly, the inside fittings in the fridge I received were quite different than what was shown in the model I purchased. Although II included line drawings of the empty doors, fridge and freezer, they’re not very self explanatory! No ice cube trays. Freezer size is minuscule. No veggie bins, even IF they had to be small. And the fittings in the door…? I’m not sure what is meant to go in there. The appliance is very well made, quite handsome—but after unpacking it and placing it where I wanted it to go, it looked really tiny. Because the legs were not level once I put it where it was supposed to go, I plugged it in but waited until today to adjust it so that it’s absolutely level. By this morning, it had gotten very cold. It’s very quiet. The door opens and closes very easily and quietly. Will fill it with food, etc. today and will update this review in a day. PART II [UPDATE]: This is NOT good news. In my effort to level the fridge—which it was very unstable once it was set up—I followed directions but one of the two legs kept falling off. I was forced to empty the fridge, then gently lay it on its back so I could see clearly why one leg would not work, only to discover that it was missing a part: a metal hinge with screws that attached each leg to the bottom of the fridge. Mine only had one such attachment. I went back and searched the entire box it came in, all packing materials, the plastic bag which held the instructions and nowhere was that hinge—which should have been on the fridge in the first place. I went to where I placed the order and clicked on “Problems with item”. Was given two choices. 1st was to go to manufacturer’s website, which I did. They only had a category for LARGE Appliances, nothing small, no mini-fridge. There was no Customer Service Phone Number! The 2nd choice was to call Amazon. Which I did. They offered me no help in contacting the manufacturer to replace the part. They were happy to have me RETURN the refrigerator but repacking it would not be an easy task—and an expensive one. It hardly seemed worth the effort and time. So Amazon suggested giving me a partial refund and finding someone local to fix it! I now have $46.00 and a fridge I can’t use unless I can locate someone who’ll I’ll have to pay to find the part and then to fix it! This is clearly not an example of Amazon’s A to Z Guarantee!
