- Lithium Battery Isolation Manager

I wanted to convert my lead acid batteries to LifePO4 in my motorhome. I watched many YouTube videos and read lots of articles. I looked at DC to DC chargers and BIMs like this. I decided to go this way and I think it was a good decision. My motorhome already had a BIM that was physically the same as this one, just not for Lithium so it was pretty easy to swap it out. I just took out the original BIM and put this one in its place with the same connections and everything seems to be working properly.

Installation is very easy. Connect the two battery cables to the appropriate terminals. Run a ground wire from the ground terminal to RV chassis. Find an ignition activated wire (one that only has power then ignition is running) and connect that to the ignition terminal. If you want to override and manually connect your house and chassis battery, just run a wire from positive battery terminal through a toggle switch and to signal terminal. Cheap precaution to avoid burning out your vehicle's alternator on long drives.

This is an excellent alternative, and less costly than a DC to DC converter. It replaced an existing solenoid in my new E450 Ford chassis motorhome. I understand the concept and where to install it, but wasn’t sure I had the correct alternator wiring, so I had a tech install it. It does the job of cycling the alternator current off/on when charging my lithium batteries and protects the alternator from burning out.

Installed as instructed, Appears to cycle allternator charging to coach battery to try to avoid over heating. Alternator still alive so far so maybe it's effective.

Great to keep my alternator safe when upgrading to lithium batteries. Very straight forward to install.

Works as described, be sure to identify wires needed for operation , and take photos before dissembling existing system.

I changed my AGM batteries in our Travato to Lithium and left the original solenoid in place. Although we only have 2 100 amp-hr batteries, the old solenoid worked for about 1 year. When the solenoid went out I switched to the battery isolation manager. I had installed a volt/amp meter on the dash to see how much power the van's alternator was delivering. With the old solenoid, it took about 45 minutes to 1 1/2 hours to charge the batteries continuously. Now with the BIM, it is slower but I do see the BIM cycle the alternator on / off every 15 minutes, taking the load off the alternator. I've also noticed the van coach battery is now at a higher voltage (the BIM charges the van battery also...off of solar). So everything is working exactly as intended. I'm pleased with this BIM.

This intelligent battery isolation manager was my choice for converting from AGM to LiFePO4 house batteries over DC-DC Convertors on my boat. It can handle higher currents than the common converters. They are also much less expensive.

I installed lithium batteries in my RV so I had to upgrade the BIM to this model. Installation is easy and it’s working great. FYI, if you install this BIM you don’t need to install a DC-DC charger (according to the manufacturer).

A must have when going to lithium batteries in your RV. Easy to install and they are the OEM brand used in most high end RV’s.
