Can you not use coffee filters with this?

Thank you for your question, Lol67. This coffee maker will work with a basket-style (flat-bottom) 8-12 cup coffee filter. The filter can be either paper or a permanent mesh.

Does this turn off auto after time I hate returning to pot to find cool coffee

All you have to do is push the on off button to restart the two hour auto shut off feature. When I get a cup of coffee and it’s been about an hour since brewing I simply hit the button off / then on again to get an extra two hours. Repeat as often as needed.
