No special pen required - I use this to keep score when golfing in the rain. It isn't like using a scorecard - where you have all the Yardages, Par, and Handicap for each hole, but it doesn't wash away like whatever you'd write on a scorecard in the rain does. You could enter all that before the round if you wanted to, but it's especially good for playing on your home course where you already are familiar with these numbers and all you really need is something to write everyone's score on that won't smudge or wash away.

Journal everything and it will improve your game. Embrace old school you’ll love it. I still have the tee box!

i should say this is my fault....I was looking at other similar type products and confused it with this one so I thought I was getting 3 notebooks....nope...only got one....I had to laugh when I opened it up and saw what I paid $14 for...crazy overpriced but I guess if you want it...it might be worth it to you...this was a gift but so lame that I now have to go out and buy something else for that person to accompany it. :)

This is a perfect tool for analyzing your game. The grid system it uses can be used as-is or you can develop your own way of tracking what you think is important--it's very versatile and has just the right number of rows and columns. I bought all my golfing buddies one of these, and we all use it a little differently. The construction is great and the pages are strong. It goes in and out of my back pocket 80 times a round and shows no wear. A small binder clip is handy for keeping your page. Great size for the pocket and the hand. Hope they keep making it. Only thing to watch out for is your pace of play. At first we found ourselves standing around taking notes too long after the hole, but you get used to it and I typically do my notes while walking now. It is tough to keep this book and a score card, so we ditched the score card (although you still need one for the yardage and handicap if you care).

Just starting out and this is a great way to track my progress. I am a more pencil and paper person, than a computer.

I highly recommend this but of kit - it fits nicely in the back pocket and keeps a scorecard snugly in it so both stay accessible.

Good notepad, great for mini golf.

Does exactly what it was meant to do. Have enjoyed using it so far but don’t really see the need for the pages at the beginning, could of just added extra score pages

I've now gone through 2 of these books in the last year. Great that it has all the stats for fairways hit, GIR, penalties, and putts. I usually add up all those totals and averages on the bottom of the page as well. Fits perfectly in the back pocket. Wish it had a bookmark or ribbon built in to save your page, but I just use a paperclip instead. Would be nice if you can fit more rounds in the book too. But overall really good product, love adding my totals at the end of the year to see how I've (hopefully) improved my game!
