Couldn't be easier for one or two people. Add rice. Add water. Press button. I used Kokuho Rose and the rice came out perfect. No burnt spots. Delicious. Moist and fluffy. Rice was kept warm for 2nd serving. I will be using it for quinoa and other rice recipes. Perfect for a single person.

The appliance smelled like a burning circuit board the first time I plugged it in and used it. One star off for that. Fortunately, the weird smell wasn't present when I used the cooker again. Perfect for two portions of steamed or fried rice, quinoa or hot breakfast cereal. The tiny size doesn't take up a lot of kitchen real estate and is easy to store away -- it's not much bigger than a roll of toilet paper. It's extremely easy to clean, so I've used it a lot in the past few days since it arrived. For brown basmati rice, I experimented to get the right texture, settling on 1 measuring scoop of rice to 2.25 scoops of water. The plastic measuring scoop comes with the cooker. The instructions say to use the supplied scoop and not a standard measuring cup.

Super little steamer! Remember to use the instruction book and the measuring cup provided and you will always get a perfect, wonderful product.
