Is this vice really 14 inches wide?

Although it is ~14” wide it can only handle boards 9” or less. Of course I guess you can replace the cross bar to make it wider but I haven’t tried that

No, from what I can make out they are exactly the same.

I think it's not ESD; There is nothing on the packaging about it. But, I believe a dissipative blanket, anti-static gloves and wristbands are mandatory in any service.

Are the clamps that hold the pcb in plastic or metal, and is there any plastic at all? i need to know if this is good for hot air rework.

On mine, the clamps are made of cast metal, painted black on the outer surfaces. I could see some light colored material on the hollow part, so I removed the retaining clip and pulled the clamp out to get a better look at the inside. I tapped it with a scribe and gave it a little scratch. I think zinc is usually what such cast parts are made of.
