Series two returns to action with the troops in Spring 1943. Paddy Mayne takes control of the SAS following David Stirling’s capture, and now attention must turn from the conflict in North Africa to mainland Europe. Excellent! The opening credits say it brilliantly "while based on true events this is NOT a history". While all the events portrayed actually happened, how the main characters speak and act is probably not accurate.

Spectacular Series
Brilliant part two of the series . Realistic and portrays these men as the special true heroes they are. No doubt the best in the World. Britain’s special forces need to be immortalised by our Government. The Government owes a great debt to them without forgetting our Armed Forces.

Good series - But too many cringe moments..
I really liked the first series, where you got to know the characters etc and the action scenes were good enough - until the scene in series 2 in Italy where a Stuka strafed the town square and it's bullets bounced off the table! rattling a few plates... I am pretty sure a real Stuka would have firstly dropped a bomb and then it's 20mm cannon shells would have made firewood of the table.. I recall shouting at the TV and saying 'Oh come on! Worth a watch though if only for the reminder of how brave the original SAS were in WW2.

Si vous aimez l'histoire militaire, n'avez aucune envie d'être « woke », êtes anglophile, pouvez supporter un certain degré d'exagération et aimez rire… cette mini-série est faite pour vous. Je vous recommande de commencer par la saison 1, mais cela ne change pas grand-chose, si ce n'est que vous en saurez plus sur les débuts réels du SAS. Il y a une saison 3 ; je l'achèterai donc sans hésiter dès qu'elle sera disponible. Spoiler : dans cette série, la véritable star est le fou irlandais ; vous n'avez donc même pas besoin d'être anglophile à 100 %.
