Celestron TrailSeeker Tripod for Spotting Scopes, Binoculars & Cameras

Bought this take on a cruise to use with a telescope to watch the Mercury transit. I know weird. Tried the mount out at home and I was sold. It held my 90 mm short refractor without any problem. The fluid head worked superbly. On the ship during the transit it was great! I love this tripod. My previous one was old and would not hold the scope. Having the bag for the tripod is also great. I would highly recommend this tripod. The quick release is excellent as well.

I cannot believe it works so well. Clear 200-300 yd paper target shooting even farther when shooting steel. Total distance good to 800yd+ get the Bluetooth phone adapter from their Amazon page worth every penny!!! Stand is great quality with lots of adjustableity.

Arrived with a piece broken off one of the leg angle adjusters. The leg can still be moved, but the remaining piece feels fragile like it will come fully off. Box looked beaten up during shipping and there was no padding. Otherwise tripod seems sturdy, stable, and easy to operate.

A perfect mount for my Celestron C90 Mak-Cass. A solid foundation as a grab-and-go astronomy scope mount, albeit without slow-motion hand adjustments. But for quick lunar and planetary spotting this is a winner. Pros: Convenient carry case, provides inside pocket for whatever, zippered full-length and easy open padded compartment for tripod. Provides leveling bubble Provides a small compass for basic polar alignment if needed. Single knob provides lock-down of both elevation and circular movement. Very sturdy legs! 3-section; center post also extends vertically if you need additional height. I like that I can set the mount level low and sit comfortably in a lawn chair for my observing sessions. Bonus: not advertised, my tripod arrived with a very nice Celestron metal (ie, non-flexible/moveable) binocular/camera mounting adapter; also a smaller plastic adapter but no manufacturing info. Cons: none found. Nyah: nice add-on features might be azimuth and latitude rings, but this was not advertised as an astronomy mount, though it can serve that function.

Works great, great price, pretty solid build quality works great for shooting and watching animals and such. I would recommend this product.

I ordered this to use with our Celestron scope, it’s nice and stable, lots of height adjustments and easy to set up. Came with a nice carrying case. I had been using a cheap camera tripod which couldn't handle the weight of the scope. I’m very happy with this tripod .

I bought this to watch bald eagles in the Spring. Easy to carry through the woods easy to set up. Very sturdy. My husband has already “stolen” it to use.

I’m a tour guide in Costa Rica, and I bought this tripod expecting it to be a reliable piece of equipment for the frequent use my job requires. In terms of design, versatility, and overall appearance, the tripod seemed excellent from the start. It looks good, is easy to carry, and functions well in the field. I’ve been using it for about two months now, both in Costa Rica and during a work trip to South America—specifically in Peru, where I used it intensively for a full week. In general, it’s been subjected to regular and demanding use in real working conditions. However, the main issue appeared with the gear mechanism that connects the head to the tripod legs. Over time and with continued use, a slight movement began to develop at that junction, and it gradually worsened. Eventually, the gear was completely stripped, causing the head to detach from the tripod. This not only compromised the stability of the setup, but also led to my telescope falling twice, resulting in damage to my personal equipment. It’s unfortunate, because the rest of the tripod works very well and I really like its design and portability. But due to this critical flaw in the connection system, I cannot recommend this model. If the manufacturer were to address and fix the issue with the gear mechanism, I would absolutely recommend it—especially for those of us who rely on dependable gear in the field.

Just under a year since purchase, the legs suddenly jammed after a night out in the desert. I was never really able to get them moving freely again, no matter how much I cleaned/reassembled it. It's a shame, since it was otherwise a pretty great tripod with a nice fluid pan head and it held my Celestron SkyMaster 8x56 binoculars steady and stable.
