Doctor Who: The Matt Smith Collection (DVD): Every new Doctor is a perfect place to begin your Doctor Who adventure, and that was never more true than with the Eleventh Doctor, Matt Smith. And with this mammoth 10-disc collection, you can own every Eleventh Doctor episode including the blockbuster 50th Anniversary Special, "The Day of the Doctor." Whether teamed up with companions Amy and Rory (Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill), the enigmatic River Song (Alex Kingston), or Impossible Girl Clara (Jenna Coleman), whether battling evil Daleks, the mysterious Silence, or the terrifying Weeping Angels, the adventures of the Eleventh Doctor will never fail to electrify. They call the Eleventh Doctor the "mad man with a box," and you'll know why once you've seen him survive all the epic battles in this unbelievably spectacular Doctor Who collection! Review: A Great Collection for Whovians! - “Doctor Who: The Matt Smith Collection” collects seasons 5-7 of “Doctor Who” from 2010-2013, including the Christmas episodes “A Christmas Carol,” “The Doctor, the Widow and the Wardrobe,” and “The Time of the Doctor” as well as the 50th anniversary episode, “The Day of the Doctor.” In addition to Matt Smith as the Eleventh Doctor, the collection features Karen Gillan as Amy Pond, Arthur Darvill as Rory Williams, Alex Kingston as River Song, Jenna Coleman as Clara Oswald, Neve McIntosh as Madame Vastra, Catrin Stewart as Jenny, Dan Starkey as Strax, Frances Barber as Madame Kovarian, Ian McNeice as Winston Churchill, Richard E. Grant as Dr. Simeon, and Mark Williams as Brian Williams. Season 5 builds to the Pandorica, with clues throughout the series hinting at its true nature and its connection to the Doctor. Season 6 involves the Doctor’s work to counter the Silence, who have been occupying Earth through all of history and view the Doctor as their particular enemy. Season 7 introduces Clara Oswald while delving deep into the Doctor’s own history as the show built toward its 50th anniversary celebration, introducing John Hurt as the War Doctor. Though this collection features all of the episodes from Smith’s tenure, it unfortunately leaves out the various mini-episodes and scenes that Steven Moffat produced as prequels and bonus features beginning in the sixth season. These bonus mini-episodes included: “Prequel to the Impossible Astronaut” (March 2011), “Prequel to the Curse of the Black Spot” (April 2011), “Prequel to A Good Man Goes to War” (May 2011), “Prequel to Let’s Kill Hitler” (August 2011), “Prequel to the Wedding of River Song” (September 2011), “Prequel to the Doctor, the Widow and the Wardrobe” (December 2011), “Prequel to Asylum of the Daleks” (September 2012), “The Great Detective” (November 2012), “Vastra Investigates: A Christmas Prequel” (December 2012), “The Bells of Saint John: A Prequel” (March 2013), “The Battle of Demon’s Run: Two Days Later” (March 2013), “She Said, He Said: A Prequel” (May 2013), “Clarence and the Whispermen” (May 2013), “Clara and the TARDIS” (September 2013), “Rain Gods” (September 2013), “The Inforarium” (September 2013), “The Night of the Doctor” (November 2013). Many of them are just fun little stories, but it’s a pity that this collection leaves them out, especially as “The Night of the Doctor” provides some needed backstory for the 50th anniversary special, “The Time of the Doctor,” and includes Paul McGann giving a phenomenal performance in his only other on-screen portrayal of the Eighth Doctor outside of the 1996 television film. Other than these omissions, “Doctor Who: The Matt Smith Collection” is a great way to get the televised episodes of Matt Smith’s tenure as the Eleventh Doctor. The box art is lovely and forms an interconnecting image with the collection of Christopher Eccleston & David Tennant’s episodes and the collection of Peter Capaldi’s Twelfth Doctor episodes. Review: Amazing! - One of my favorite shows for a great price!

So glad to have the set.
I know DVDs might be old fashioned to some folks, but I really like the assurance of having physical media for my fav shows. While there are cons, the pros of having discs is that you own it. It's yours. And you are not at the whims of a streaming service. I thought it was a great price for I got. One a personal note: I entered the New Who Era with Matt Smith and the Pond Arc so I am thrilled to have this for my very own.

One of better doctors
One of the better doctors. Good story lines. Companions sometimes got on my nerves but nothing serious. Really enjoy watching them several times. Sad to see him leave especially the state of the show currently. It turned to crap.

Excelente boxset
