it's the best
Previous owners left mounting brackets but took the bar. It was a bit tricky to find this brand since it is quite a unique mounting system but I am glad I did. Rock solid, fits old brackets manufactured who knows how long ago. Feels much safer than other bars that want to jump of the door jamb the second you make a wrong move.

Good Pull Up Bar
Iโve had this installed for a couple years without any issues. Itโs not very easy to remove and replace the bar from the brackets, but easy to install and sturdy.
User
Love it!
Works as it should! Great permanent way to have an exercise device inside your home to do a pull up or two each time you walk through the doorway itโs in!
User
Does the job well, but be careful when installing on older doorways with normal sized trim.
Sturdy, hardware fits together nicely. The brackets you screw in are wider than the trim on my doorway so I was only able to use three of the five screw holes. I used long decking screws instead of the small wood screws to hopefully provide better support. So far so good.

Basic Pull-up Bar
After years of pressing my luck using a clothes bar removed from my closet and installed in my doorway, I decided it was time to upgrade to an actual pull-up bar.I was surprised how few basic, low profile bars there were. This one fits the bill. Easy installation and sturdy. It's a nice diameter. Not a lot of grip to it, considering it's stainless steel, but I'm used to that. I may addi a grip tape later. If you're considering the other one on Amazon that's only $25 dollars, don't do it. That was my first choice and I immediately returned it.

Works, but could be better engineered
Update: I sent it back in favor of a pressure adjustable model. But I think with engineering improvements in the brackets, it could be the best on the market. Brackets need to fit bar ends like they were made for each other.Original post:Iโll keep it because itโs the only one on Amazon that screws in, doesnโt use outward pressure that would potentially damage my door frame, is adjustable, and locks rotation to avoid spinning the bar which is annoying when Iโm doing pull ups. However, if there was a similar product out there that was better engineered for the same purpose, Iโd buy it. This one is so loosely engineered itโs as if it was designed by a high school shop class. The hex shape of the wall slots has nothing to do with the hex shape of the bar ends. Wall slots might as well be circular and fit to the bar. And the wall slots are far wider than needed to accommodate the bar ends, so itโs loosy goosy. Iโll see if I can find a shim to make it a tighter fit. The little tabs that rotate in to โlockโ the hex end in place are also a design/engineering kluge. For $45, I would expect better. But alas, all the other products out there have their own flaws (outward pressure potentially damaging, circular ends that can spin/rotate while doing pull ups, or non adjustable).

Great bar
Perfect for your closet door frame.Bought these for my kid. Very sturdy, even with inversion use.

It won't damage your door frame...
Unlike most of the bars that hold the weight by pushing outwards, โwhich can make the door frame eventually crackโ what I like the most of this one is that it doesn't damage the frame cuz the weight is exerted fully downwards, thanks to the 2 screwed supports system. We didn't mind having to fix the supports to the frame cuz you can take the bar off and they are barely visible. You can also close the door of course. It's very very sturdy and it gets very secured once you install it and close the safety mechanism, it practically doesn't move. We have been using it both my husband and I more than twice a day and so far the frame hasn't suffers a bit.The only cons I would point out is that is somewhat hard to remove the bar. And I would also improve the product by adding two rubber/foam removable handgrips. All in all is an excellent product, simple, nothing fancy to justify exorbitant prices and it gets the job done.I recommend.

Good pull up bar
This is a good pull up bar. Easy to fit and feels firm. I had to add a couple of pieces of timber to my doorframe because the brackets were a little wider than section of frame they need to fix to. I also added some heat shrink wrapping over the bar, the type that's made for fishing poles. It's available from Amazon and gives the bar a nicer grip.

Awesome.
It is a very sturdy product.

Great product but use caution when installing
This is a great product. What isn't great, is my handiwork lol. When screwing the brackets into the door, either with a drill or handheld screwdriver, be very careful, as the screws might split the wood on the outer side of the door frame (as you can see in my photo here). Unless your door frame has a wider surface than mine I would forego the outermost two screws and just use the three screw holes that are closest to the midline of the door, as I've done above. This is NOT what the seller recommends in the instructions but... I didn't want to crack my doorframe any more. Keep in mind though, I'm about 120 lbs, so I don't know how effective these brackets would be, using only three screws, for somebody that weighs any more than I do. Anyways, this product arrived within about a week, was very easy to install, and I love that you can take down the bar after your workout.

DO NOT BUY
Straight out of the box I could see that this piece of badly welded equipment made from thin, shiny piping was a piece of chrome-plated trash and dangerous when considering its intended use. As a welder myself I can't stress enough how badly put together this thing is and how badly chosen its thin piping and fixtures. DO NOT BUY this so-called DreamGYM bar; it a nightmareGYM bar and ought to be taken off the shelves. Also, to add insult to probable injury, getting my refund took many weeks and a lot of messing around.
