Was reluctant to buy a havells product considering how good their competitors are but this surprised me big time, the design is what sold me initially, but the product is as good as it gets, never had a shock and even if you forget to turn it off, it shuts off automatically. Pleased with the product, hope it last for a longer.

This immersion rod has a very unique design which is very useful and convenient in heating water in plastic buckets. The normal clip based immersion rods have a risk of the rod touching the wall of the plastic bucket, thereby melting it. Also, the normal rods have a risk of injury when handling due to the exposed rod. However, this product has flaps and the heater does not turn on when the flaps are closed which significantly reduces the chance of direct exposure of the rod to the hand/skin. The open flaps act as a support over the bucket and the rod stays in the centre, making it impossible for it to touch the bucket wall. As for the heating, the rod gets auto cut off after the temperature level is reached. Keeping it 3/4th way between low and medium is sufficient for taking a bath and typical time for it to heat up to this level and auto shut off is 11-12 mins (when room temperature is ~25 celsius). However, the nature of the rod & water heating makes the water below the rod's bottom most level to remain cold and one has to stir the water with a mug/hand after removing the rod to get uniform heated water. The only major drawback of the rod is its low chord length. It has an effective chord length of 1.4 metres which is too small for heating needs as in a bathroom, the plug point is typically at an elevated height of 1 meter at a corner of the room while the bucket is at another corner. This causes inconvenience whereby we have to move the bucket around needlessly

Good features but bad quality control. Had to replace the product and the replaced product doesn't turn on on low mode. Poor quality by havells. Not satisfied with the product. I need to call in the customer support for new product
