Lord Of The Rings: Gandalf Costume for Adults, Men's Standard

My daughter wanted to be Gandalf for Halloween and how could I say no? The costume was true to color, quality materials and looked great. A big plus was room underneath to layer clothes- Halloween is always freezing here.

I’m one of the idiots who didn’t read the fine print and what was and wasn’t included. The robe fits very well for someone who is 5’8 and 215 lbs. The hat is poor quality and doesn’t fit the look in my opinion. I would advise people to just diy this for half the price and buy a hat and beard/wig set online. This is literally just a robe, belt and bad hat. Again, that part is my fault though, I was misled by the picture showing a beard

The whole costume (I got the beard, wig, costume and Gandalf's staff), worked great. It looks and feels nice. And yes, it is warm ... so I would suggest wearing a dark grey t-shirt and shorts underneath; and the whole thing made me hot, I often lowered my beard too. Also the materials are synthetic/ man made, so they do not breather well either. Lastly, you are paying under $50 for a costume, this is great for the price. Do not expect natural materials (like wool, leather belt etc.). If you really want a nice costume, then you are looking at $150-$200 with the nice woolen hat (Oh I would love that).

Color of hat is nowhere close to the robe. I expected medocre but decent enough to have matching colors and was underwhelmed. Only reason I'm giving 3 stars is the robe is okay and it was quick to get home.

Hat is garbage and we bought another one but the robe is very authentic Gandalf. You could try stuffing the hat with newspaper to make it stand up but it doesn't even match the robe in fabric or color. The robe is like a tweed and the hat is cheap nylon. Buy it just for the robe but order another hat.

Do not buy this TRASH! This is very cheaply made crap. The hat is some kind of foam and it's obvious that it is foam. This is not a good costume. Also the beard and hair doesn't come with it. Trash. Rubies is garbage. I'll never buy anything with the Rubies name on it again.

This is the biggest size I could find on Amazon (X-Large). I was a bit worried as I'm a XXL for all my clothes, t-shirts, etc.. But It was perfect with loads of room. I'm a typical guy with a fat gut, 5'6" tall about 215 lbs. This fitted great. I would say it's really about a XXXL size, as I'm a XXL and it wasn't tight at all on me. If you wear a XXL t-shirt then this (X-Large) will fit you great with lots of extra room. I'm 5'6" and I thought it would be dragging on the ground, but it wasn't, it was about an inch or so off the ground, I didn't measure it but it wasn't touching the ground. The only downside was the hat, the hat was a bit small but you can yank it down on your head and it's made of some kinda foam so it does expand, I don't have a big head, probably about average and the hat seemed a bit tight for me, but it worked ok.

Great costume and super soft. Giving 4 stars because although the packaging says no beard- the picture shown with the costume has a beard so it’s highly deceiving.

Considering the robe, hat and belt are officially licensed merchandise from the hobbit movies, I'm quite disappointed as the quality is not great. Belt is small and fragile. Robe is all right. Hat kept falling of my head all the time. Even though the description says "Search for wigs and beard kits from rubies accessories", the pictures in my opinion are misleading, as it shows the full costume with wig and beard. Why someone would buy a Gandalf costume without a wig and beard?
