Giddy with excitement! Love this little handheld!
Sorry for the length of this review, but consider reading it all before purchasing one of these just so you know what you’re potentially getting into. I updated the review multiple times as things occurred to give you a proper look at my overall experience. Start at the bottom if you want to read it all. If not, the last edit will suffice. FURTHER EDIT: So, after a lot of ordering and returning, I decided to buy a cheap precision screwdriver set to try to get the one stripped screw out of the first MM+ I ordered before giving up on it. I’m glad I kept that unit while testing others because it’s been the best one I’ve received. The precision screwdriver did the trick, and I was able to easily switch out the buttons! I will be hanging onto my original device. That one screw is literally the only thing I’ve found to be wrong with it. It’s worked perfectly without any light bleed or dpad issues since I first opened it. Whew. Crisis averted. I still recommend grabbing one of these if you’re patient and enjoy tinkering. I put up with a little more inconvenience than I probably should’ve because I really wanted a MM+; its size and shape are just perfect. EDIT: I love this thing. After deciding to keep it for myself, I’ve taken a deep dive into the world of retro gaming, and I have been playing a wide variety of games, many of which I’m actually playing for the first time. I’m amazed by how entertaining old systems still are; they truly stand the test of time. This is a great deal, best bang for your buck if you install OnionOS which is free and easy to install. I’m still jealous of the overall look and feel of the RG35XX Pro, but I’m more than happy with the MM+. I hope to get lots of use out of it. Low price. Perfect size. Ease of set up and use is unmatched. Great beginner handheld. One gripe: QA seems a bit lacks. Can’t expect much considering the price I suppose. Ordered another MM+ after discovering the first one had a stripped screw while attempting to modify the buttons. This will make any modifications/fixes, like replacing the screen, essentially impossible if needed in the future; I’m glad I caught it early. The second unit had light bleed where the bottom of the screen meets the shell. I have ordered a third purple device in hopes of it being “the one.” If it doesn’t work out, I’ll just order a different color and hope for the best. 🫣 lots of ordering and returning, but I really want the MM+ to be my go-to handheld. Grrr. Just be aware that you may have to return and reorder depending on the unit you receive. Unfortunately, I may have to go without a Miyoo device if they continue sending imperfect ones. Quite frustrating since the MM+ is truly the perfect shape, size, and price. EDIT: Ended up buying an RG35XX Pro to compare to the MM+. Wowza. Spend the extra $13 for the Anbernic device if you’re not too worried about pocketability and want something which more closely resembles the original Game Boy Color. If you’re on the fence about buying this and have a few extra dollars to spend, check out the RG35XX Pro ($70 after tax) before you pull the trigger. It doesn’t come with a case, but that’s not really a big deal considering the device’s additional capabilities, features, and overall quality. I’m amazed. I have attached a photo for comparison. I may hang onto the MM+ for myself due to its high potential and extensive support/community, but I’m definitely going to gift the RG35XX Pro. With all of that said, I stand by my original 5/5 rating for the MM+; it truly is a budget-friendly, pocketable, ergonomic little handheld with a lot of potential. ORIGINAL: Wow! I haven’t been this excited to receive an order in a while. Bought this as a Christmas gift for my husband along with a SanDisk microSD and a new SD card reader as recommended by many online. Opened it up as soon as it arrived to check it out and make sure it was actually worth it. Boy, am I jealous! I absolutely love this thing. I do believe I got a little giddy upon opening it. Brought back so many memories; made me feel like a kid again. As some people have mentioned, it may be a tad awkward/uncomfortable to hold for long gaming sessions as an adult, but I imagine most people don’t use it for super long periods. This is one of those things you pick up randomly when you’re bored or before going to bed. It’s not something you’re gonna sit and play for hours on end. I bet it’s great for travel though; perfect size. Can’t speak on its battery life or durability considering it won’t be properly used until after Christmas, but man, I am super pleased with it out of the box! Gonna take some restraint not to give it to my husband early. I may actually eventually end up buying one for myself. The nostalgia is real, ya’ll. I ordered from Amazon in case I needed to return it. I paid a few dollars more, but I was a little worried about receiving a lemon or a completely unusable product. It was worth it to me for the promise of a free, easy return. However, this appears to be a “legit” Miyoo Mini Plus. Don’t hesitate to buy it if you’re at all interested. You won’t be disappointed! The included case is a nice touch too.

Exactly what I hoped for!
For all those moments in life where you're stuck in line or a holding pattern (at the bank, doctor/pharmacy line, waiting for a food order) your Steam Deck or similar is too bulky to walk with...this little guy definitely delivers. The OnionOS version has nice QOL features and it comes loaded with a ton of games; I already had my own collection ready to go, but I haven't even felt the need to replace or supplement what was provided, so definitely choose the OnionOS option. Screen: it is pretty decent; it's bright enough to play in direct sunlight, though it took me awhile to get used to the size, even though those old classic handhelds had the same size screen or even smaller (I had to look it up)...guess my older eyes needed more adjustment time. There are some options in OnionOS to adjust the color/contrast/saturation/etc to fine-tune it to your liking, but I liked the default settings. I haven't tried the screen protector yet (I usually avoid them and just get a decent case instead), but so far after 2 weeks in my pocket there are zero scratches on the screen or the housing (granted I make sure I don't have keys or loose change in that pocket). I plan to get an articulating screen protector on Etsy that covers only the screen and folds away when in use. Battery life: I usually play GB/GBC, GBA, Genesis, NES and SNES titles and I get at least 5 Hrs out of it with the wifi off and brightness set to 5/10 on average...good enough for my needs. Build Quality/Playability: I really like the design and colors! I got the retro grey one as it really reminds me of my old Game Boy from the early 90's. The speakers are passable, but do distort at max volume...however I rarely ever need max volume so it's fine, plus it sounds decent with wired headphones (no bluetooth option, sorry). As expected the controls are a little tight if your hands are on the larger side...mine aren't that big, but I do feel them cramping up during any extended sessions. The buttons could be a little better, especially the D-pad...I mean it's good enough but, combined with the small size, it's sometimes hard to be precise with quick movements. I also wish the shoulder buttons had a little more resistance before pressing down; I've found myself pressing them accidentally several times (skill issue I guess). I've seen some button mods on Etsy that I plan to order; will update the review if they improve the experience. Final Thoughts: I have a gaming PC and a Steam Deck and I find this fits right in for situations where the Deck would be too bulky to walk with or use. At about the same width as an iPhone 13, roughly 3/4 of the length but twice as thick, it's just the right size to fit in my pocket without being too bulky, whether it be jeans or dress pants. Even when I'm home, I find this more comfortable to play in bed vs. the Steam Deck, so this has now become my go-to device for 8 or 16 bit emulation. Definitely recommended.

Very cool little device.
Sick little handheld, loaded it up with a bunch of my favorite older PS1 games, also have some DS games on there. Design is great, perfect little form factor, has all the buttons you would have on a PS1 controller. The OS is clean and easy to use. The SD card reader is super easy to use if you have any laptop or PC to download games and upload them to the SD card. The battery definitely could be a bit better, if you play MGS or Pokemon it will drain the battery pretty fast. The screen feels huge for such a tiny device, no issues there. Very satisfying device to hold though, fits my hands perfectly and is also small enough to fit in your pocket. For $60 this is a phenomenal little gift for the gamers in your life, especially if they were into handheld gaming while growing up. Lots of pros, only con i can think of is battery life.

Se siente bien construído y los juegos “de prueba” incluídos están de 10! Me encantó y mas por que te la opción de incluir mas juegos mediante una memoria. Sin duda volvería a comprarlo

Great product! it's great for traveling or whenever you have some time over to game. Its small and fits in every pocket and can play games up to psx with no problem. I would say however that for people with big hands the miyoo mini is not for you. i would highly advise to install the Onion OS and download a few games youself, the library it comes with suck real hard.

The Miyoo Mini Plus is easily my favorite handheld console ever. It let me experience so many of the games I grew up playing, and that alone makes it worth it. For the price, it’s amazing value — instead of spending hundreds of dollars collecting different retro consoles, this device basically gives you almost every classic system in one small package. The emulation performance is nearly perfect — I’d even say it feels better than I expected. Games run smoothly, controls feel responsive, and everything just works. One of my favorite things about it is the size. It’s small enough to fit in your pocket, so you can bring it anywhere. It’s perfect for quick gaming sessions on the go. The only downside is that if you have bigger hands, you might want to buy a grip if you plan on playing for long hours (which you probably will). It can feel a little cramped during extended sessions. Overall, this is the best emulator handheld out there for the price. If you’re willing to spend a little money but don’t want to overspend on retro consoles, this is the perfect choice. You can also easily learn how to add more games by watching tutorials on YouTube. Highly recommended!
