I got this rower a few days ago. Here is my review so far. Assembly was fairly easy. No problems there. I am 5’9” and the range is perfect. My shoe size is 9.5 and my feet fit perfectly in the foot pedals. I used a little funnel to add distilled water to the tank. It took around 3 gallons to fill to the max line. I have found the workouts to be great. Since I am not a rower I have to take breaks but even after a few short days (and one rest day) I can tell I am getting stronger. The rowing works up a sweat. You cannot manually change the levels so I just adjust my effort. The quality is better than I expected and it looks good in my apt. When storing, the wood looks nice next to my red brick walls. Feels expensive and I love that aesthetic. It folds up nicely. I wish the wheels were a little better for rolling around but maybe I am not doing it right. As of now I would recommend if you are looking for an inexpensive rower and a beginner. I’ll try to remember to make a review after a few months.

This is ana amazing rower, and the price is great for the quality of product you're getting. Very easy to operate, even my wife and older daughter can open and put away with ease. Stores great, doesn't take up too much space. Honestly I was kinda worried about the quality, I'm a bigger guy and weigh 280, but this holds up really well, very smooth when operating. Folds easily! This is definitely worth buying!

THE GOOD: This is really a great rowing machine! It is well-designed and provides a solid workout. As a kayaker I want to keep my shoulders in good shape during the winter season, and the Merach water rower is up to the task. The “swoosh” of the water is wonderfully relaxing. And I love that the unit easily folds up so it can be tucked out of the way. NOT SO GOOD: The assembly…. I read reviews about difficulties some experienced (screw holes not lining up properly), and unfortunately that was the case for me. It is essential that the “hinge” is stabilized with two screws on each side of the rails. But the misalignment of screw holes wouldn’t allow that in my case. Thus within a little more than a week of use the rails cracked. The horror of having to deal with customer service was now before me…! SITUATION RESOLVED: My fear of being stuck with a dud item and losing a few hundred dollars was quickly resolved by the prompt and courteous Merach Customer Service (you must contact Merach, not Amazon). I explained the situation, sent photos of the damage, and within 10 days a new rowing machine was sent to me. And, surprisingly, I did NOT have to go through the hassle of returning the damaged one. (took it apart and headed to the landfill). Assembly the second time around went smoothly, and all is well! Best customer service I have had in my lifetime! (I am a senior citizen). So if you’re looking for a rowing machine that is actually enjoyable to use, this Merach water rower is a highly recommended choice! My thanks again to Merach Customer Service!

I love how this full-size rowing machine folds easy to stow in my bedroom, and unfolds almost as well for use. It has all the features I wanted (solid foot pedals, room to reach forward to complete stroke, adjustable resistance and self-adjusting resistance with speed). It was not too expensive, and not too hard to put together. The water rushing sound is very relaxing, and the quality of exercise unbeatable. That said, this machine arrived with four ugly holes drilled into the wood, and having read in other reviews holes needed to be re-drilled, I went crazy looking for screws and fittings to make things work. Finally I realized that there were good holes in the right place, and just covered over the unsightly mess with some contac paper. If I had not had previous experience with Merach, I would have returned the machine and sought a replacement. But, having purchased a prior, more expensive machine that did not do what they claimed (fold), I knew that there customer service bends over backwards to not accommodate customers, so I kept the machine I had. I honestly wish this machine was the one I picked first, because it does everything I need in a tiny space. I searched a long time to find something that works well at home without taking up too much space, and this is the best choice for me.

Regardless of your time on the water, this is a smooth jazz kind of comparison to the competitive gold standard. Still get your workout and don't wake up the kids. We don’t have kids, so take that last bit with a grain. But the sound puts me to sleep, unless my partner starts rushing the slide, though even the seat moves silently. Very quiet. We also have a C2, and that sound is still tied to memories of traumatic stress, so not as soothing, I guess. If you’re on the fence vs. a C2 and don’t have the space (or the money) for one anyway, this product is solidly built and simple to assemble. Super quiet, freaky-easy to store, darn good looking. I also owned an original WaterRower, and I’m not disappointed by the comparison to that erg, either.

Great deal, 15 min setup, includes everything but water. Smooth function, great work out. I would suggest you put rubber mats down under machine, if you push too hard it will slide, it has non-marking rubber feet, but on hard floor it will slide.

Solid build but two big notes for real rowers: (1) this is higher resistance than my WaterRower by Nohrd. Not bad, just noteworthy. (2) The screen does not include basic useful info like mm:ss / 500m, distance in m, spm. You can get these if you use the app on your phone, but i could not believe they arent just on the basic device. (3) the foot straps are velcro. Functional for sure, but you feel like a kindergartener. (4) I find that you cant come all the way in on the recovery, sometimes find myself catching.

Packaged very very well, the hardest part of the whole assembly is getting it unpacked! Very easy to assemble, even with the paper directions it comes with, there are videos available if needed. The machine itself is a low on the floor basic rower, no frills but works very well. I have long legs, 34” inseam and it fits me very well, seat never reaches the end of the rails. It is very quiet except for the water sloshing sound which is very therapeutic. Sounds like rowing a boat on a lake. Folds up easily and as listing says it takes up about the same amount of space as a dining chair. Smooth roller blade style wheels, will not damage wood floors. Excellent base model rower, very happy with it.

The app for Android is a little temperamental. I lost 2 workouts my first week. Changing the orientation of my phone from landscape to portrait to press the button to complete my workout in free training reset the workout. So I just leave my phone in portrait now. The rowing machine itself is perfect. Folds up nicely to put in a corner of our bedroom. Smooth, stable motion when in use and is so quiet. All you hear is the "woosh" of the water providing resistance, reminiscent of paddling a still lake. We use a water purifying tablet every 6 months to keep anything from growing in the tank, and have had zero issues with the tank leaking. This is one of my best buys for sure.

A good little rower for home use! It is especially nice that it folds up nice and compact. I initially received a rower that had a leak, but contacted MERACH support and received prompt and helpful assistance from Jocelyn. Happy to report we now have a rower with no leak that works great!

The rower is great but I’m having an issue with these black pieces that enable the seat to slide smoothly. I think they were damaged by the tape that comes stuck to the rail (which I did not see). I think I need 2 replacements. Please advise
