Have been using Foliatec's 2 part caliper paint since the 1990s and is by far the best such paint. When cured it is unaffected by cleaning solvents, and easilly lasts 7+ years, and keeps calipers from looking like neglected things of rust. I remove the calipers and mounting brackets and paint both, 2 coats, and the job is a good one. When I have left over paint i use it the reverse of wheel hubs and the bearing calipers as ther areas manufactureres hardly ever paint these areas, obviously manufacturers think that because these areas are not readilly visible they can be left to rust, sad.

Great product, just follow the instructions and you can not go wrong. Paint does dry as stated and gives a nice finish. However, I set the car on 4 jack stands and removed my calipers, break pads, clips and guides to do a better job. Hung the calipers using cable ties from the suspension arms, thourghly cleaned all parts to be painted. First coat had dried by the time I had painted everything (took about 30 minutes). Second coat took 20 minutes to complete and I waited 2 hours to let that dry before painting the third and final coat. I did measure out half the hardener and half the paint (25mls and 62.5mls respectively) before hand. I had marked a jam jar to the correct level and mixed that first. Third coat, I mixed the remaining hardener and paint in the tin. Cleaned off the brush between coats with turps and a cloth as it gets quite sticky in the brush. Allowed the paint to harden over 24 hours, reassembled brakes using a torque wrench to the manufactures settings, mounted the wheels and went for a drive applying brakes at regular intervals to bake on the paint. My breaks look great and very happy with the product. Quite important to follow the suggested temperature guide before starting otherwise the paint will not dry properly.

I used these on Porsche calipers, that i had stripped the paint off. Positives: -Easy to use (to mix and paint on). -What is left, is still in the tin, and useable (2 days later). -Dries quickly, so can get the coats on thick. -Very durable once dried. Negatives: - I wouldn't recommend brushing it on, use a sponge or spray gun if possible, as you see the brush marks (see pictures).

For a paint you have to paint on, it’s pretty decent. I tried both the painting and dabbing technique. It’s quite easy to over apply and seems to self level quite well. These were about 3 coats, one started with quite heavy brush strokes, the other with light dabbing. Dries nicely with a nice hard lacquer effect which seems nice and durable with a nice shine. Would be interesting to see if it works being sprayed on with a compressor.

My brake calipers were in need of some TLC as they were really letting the look of the car down, and this kit made a big difference to the overall finish. The Foliatec Brake Calliper Paint Set is a complete DIY kit designed for painting brake calipers without needing to remove them (although for a perfect finish I would recommend that they are removed). The instructions were clear and easy to follow, especially regarding how to mix the paint with the hardener in the correct ratio. Once mixed, the paint was easy to work with and applied smoothly with the brush provided. In terms of working time, there is a reasonable window before the paint starts to harden. I found there was plenty of time to apply it comfortably without feeling rushed, and I had no issue finishing each caliper before it began to set. Drying time after application was also reasonable, allowing the calipers to cure properly and build up a solid finish. Preparation is key, but once the calipers were cleaned and ready, the application process itself was straightforward and not too time-consuming. The finish looked very good once dry, giving the calipers a much fresher and more premium appearance. One set was enough to paint all four calipers, and I still had some product left over, although it’s hard to say if there would be enough for another full set. Overall, I’m very happy with the result. It’s a relatively simple job that makes a noticeable visual improvement to the car.

Excellent kit for painting brakes. Contains everything you need though the brush could be a little bigger. I've read elsewhere that some brake paints can be a little thin as they are solvent based. This kit on the other hand is a two part kit with a hardener meaning the pain will begin to thicken and shortly after mixing the two parts. It can still drip a bit but not as much as others. It also means you have a limited time to paint the brakes. The box states two hours but in reality it was going on three before the pain was too thick to use. I'd suggest getting a friend to help if possible to get the most out of the kit. Tins initially seemed quite small but there was enough to do three full coats on an average sized set of brakes calipers and carriers.If painting on the car then you'll have more than enough for three coats if you can paint quick. Other kits might be cheaper but given you get everything you need to do the job it probably works out about the same overall. Highly recommend this product.

The primer provided is unfortunately terrible, didn’t dry at all even following the instructions, had to remove all the primer off the calliper, supposedly enough to do 4 callipers and I only managed to just do 1, not impressed

Ich habe das Foliatec Bremssattel Lack Set nun schon zum zweiten Mal bestellt und das aus gutem Grund! Die Lieferung kam wieder sehr schnell und zuverlässig, alles war sicher verpackt und vollständig. Die Anleitung und das beiliegende Tutorial machen die Anwendung wirklich richtig einfach, auch für Leute, die so etwas zum ersten Mal machen. Der Lack lässt sich super gleichmäßig auftragen, deckt hervorragend und trocknet schnell. Das Ergebnis ist jedes Mal professionell und langlebig! Bei meinem Golf und Audi das gLeiche! Kein Abblättern, kein Verfärben, selbst nach vielen Kilometern und häufigem Waschen. Besonders positiv finde ich, dass der Lack hitzebeständig ist und selbst bei sportlicher Fahrweise nicht ausbleicht oder Risse bekommt. Die Farbauswahl ist top. Ich hatte Orange und jetzt Performance Red, und die Oberfläche glänzt schön, fast wie ab Werk. Ich kann das Set wirklich uneingeschränkt empfehlen. Definitiv mein Lieblingslack, und sicher nicht das letzte Mal, dass ich ihn kaufe!
