A very good quality Wired/Wireless budget gaming mouse with optional/selectable RGB lighting/modes
Good quality budget gaming mouse. I've had a number of items from Tecknet over the last few years and they have always been of consistently decent quality and this is no exception. I only really wanted a mouse which could be used wired to access the Motherboard Bios in my new PC but I decided that having one which could be used wireless as well if desired was potentially handy. In wireless mode you have a switch on the bottom to turn it either off; On with RGB LED lighting; or On with no lights. The suggested web site is not the easiest to navigate to locate the driver but you WILL need it if you wish to change the DPI setting, button configuration and LED lighting colours/modes. The mouse is very light to hold. Feels about the same in terms of weight and size as a Logitech one M100 / B100 I have. There is a bit of finger/thumb travel to operate each of the somewhat clicky buttons, including the two on the left side, but this makes them very precise. The build quality feels good. I have no complaints in this respect. Accuracy of the mouse is very good and I noticed no appreciable lag in use. I would say this is a bargain for anyone wanting a decent quality, conventionally shaped no frills gaming mouse on the cheap. I personally find a smaller mouse than this more comfortable and use a Logitech Pebble 2 most of the time, which is not as accurate as this one and is less well suited to gaming, but I find more comfortable for long term use. Nevertheless this is neither a large nor small mouse, it's a pretty standard size so unless you like an especially small or an especially large mouse then you should be fine with this. If you prefer one of the ultra high DPI so you only have to move the mouse 2 millimetres for the pointer to travel 6 inches across the screen then you might want to get a higher DPI model, but for most people and most uses this mouse will be absolutely fine. I have run a few User Benchmark scans on my PC which included this mouse and rated it very highly as having "very fast" polling. I don't have the exact timing info handy any more, but User Benchmark is quite an agressive review site and I imagine if there were anything to pick fault in, I'd get to know all about it. A very easy product to recommend. Very good quality and functionality at a good price. Only criticism would be to make the driver easier to find on the web site. (Currently, to get hold of the driver you need to go to the Tecknet UK site, click on "Customer Support" towards the top right, and in the search field enter "TK-GM001" which should show a picture of this model. Click on the right-pointing arrow to the side of "Software" and the zip file of the driver will eventually commmence download.)

A great mouse for an even more impressive price
I was initially blown away when I saw this mouse on Amazon, and decided there and then that my PC deserved some long needed upgrades, and so, I purchased both this and a keyboard instantly. When I received the order, I realised that my initial thought wasn't wrong, and that it is indeed a great mouse for the price. I love the adjustable weights within the base of the mouse, making it adaptable for your preferred weight. Personally, I left it very much stock, with all the weights in place, as I prefer a mouse with a some weight behind it. After plugging it in, and installing and setting up the driver software package required to adjust the lighting schemes, button maps and sensitivity levels of the mouse, I was again pleasantly surprised by the quality of the driver software, and the ease of which it made adjusting and fine tuning everything to my hearts content. The only real issue I have with this mouse is, even though it IS a fully adjustable RGB LED mouse, sadly you can only change the LED colour of the TECKNET logo at the bottom of the mouse to the specific colour you want. Both the red arrows below the scroll wheel, and the scroll wheel itself are sadly non customisable. The scroll wheel LED colour is changeable, by changing modes, however this leaves you only being able to have it set to one of a pre-determined set of colours, and not being able to perfectly match it with the LED at the bottom of the palm grip as I had initially desired. So, as such, I have come to a compromise, whereby the scroll wheel and LED are different colours, the LED matching that of the keyboard I purchased at the same time, and the scroll wheel just having to be left a different shade of purple instead. If this is a deal breaker, then sadly this is not the mouse for you, and I instead suggest looking elsewhere. To summarise, I feel that, especially for the price, that this is an amazingly good mouse, and I would expect to have paid upwards of £50GBP for something of such high quality, and, if you're willing to compromise on that LED issue, and the fact that, for me at least, the sensitivity settings needed some tinkering from straight out the box, then yes, this is the mouse for you! I cannot fault it as a product, and, in fact, I am going to be investing in a few more of these in the coming months for use elsewhere I need them, as I find that this is such a pleasurable experience to use once I have set it up. EDIT: This item seems to have since been replaced with a newer model which, as I have not used, I cannot place comment on. Ergo, your experience may vary with this newer model. My initial review does still stand however with the older model, and, still to this day, I cannot fault it whatsoever.

Not bad for a cheap gaming mouse
It certainly looks the part, it feels pretty well-built and it generally seems higher quality than the price suggests. The mouse is comfortable in the hand and you can easily adjust its responsiveness, so the high dpi rating doesn't ruin the mouse for gaming. So far I've used it with World of Tanks and Doom 2's Complex Doom LCA mod and it felt ok even at default settings - I didn't feel at a competitive disadvantage even in such fraught, do-or-die gaming environments. My previous mouse was a Razer Naga; I utterly hate Razer products and will never buy another, but when the mouse was working properly it felt much more precise than the TeckNet. Then again, the Razer Naga was £80, the TeckNet less than a tenner. I'd say the TeckNet is worth a try, especially if you don't want to pay absurd prices for something which isn't as reliable. UPDATE: Been using this mouse for a week or two now. Unlike more expensive, higher precision gaming mice, the TeckNet needs setting up properly in order to remain competitive at high level gaming where precision is required. The software that came with the mouse allows a very wide range of tweaking although it's not particularly clear what some of the settings do without experimenting. The mouse is much more accurate now, although I've noticed it struggles with difficult-to-make shots (eg your target is barely visible due to being in cover). The mouse is also much more precise in everyday use with few to no frustrations as there sometimes were before I tweaked it. The mouse still looks good and feels awesome and it's much better-shaped than the Razer Naga. Being able to increase the pointer's basic speed at the touch of a button, without having to muck about with software, is extremely useful. So overall it is a bit compromised, but you expect this for the price. It punches above its weight.

Awesome Mouse At Any Price - But Especially at this Price
This is possibly the best mouse I have ever had, and while I am not a hardcore extreme gamer or anything, I use a computer all day for work and am IT literate. I can't believe how cheap it is and yet how comfortable it feels. It even has re-moveable weights so that you can adjust how heavy it feels on the mouse mat!! The software is really easy to use and worth spending 10 minutes to set up the mouse so that it moves at the speed you want and the double click is the speed you want etc. You have a button on the mouse to adjust these settings quickly to any one of 5 presets which you have pre-defined. This is really handy when switching from normal everyday work to fine (photo editing, drawing, fine selection) work and back again without having to scroll in/out on the application. Also there are more buttons on the mouse than I need so I have assigned some of them as frequently used keyboard shortcuts. This saves me time for example when tabbing in a spreadsheet so I don't have to return to a keyboard if using the mouse. I was genuinely surprised to see a laser mouse with all these features for this price (£20) as my first ever logitech laser mouse (when I was a young gamer a long time ago) cost me well over £50, and I prefer this one! To be fair that one was wireless but I only use wired mice now as I can't be dealing with dead batteries and no mouse! All in all if you are looking for a mouse and procrastinating, just buy this one, I did and I am more than happy with it - and no I do not work for TeckNet, I had never heard of them until I came across the mouse on Amazon.

A Perfect Gaming Mouse
Coming from a Corsair M45 which retails at twice the cost of this mouse, I have to say, I'm incredibly impressed. As an avid gamer, I wanted a mouse with a bit more functionality and a few more buttons. I found this on Amazon, after previously purchasing a uTechSmart Uranus mouse, which is identical to this in every way, but more expensive at £30. The mouse I received from uTechSmart had a manufacturing defect, the left button was 'sticky' so I returned it. I could tell however, that had this defect not been present, it would have been an excellent mouse, but unfortunately Amazon did not offer me a replacement, only a return. This mouse on the other hand... well what can I say? Starting off with the fact that its £10 cheaper than the (already incredibly priced) uTechSmart model, and yet, it is the exact same mouse, only with different branding - and no defect this time! So, comparing it to the Corsair M45 - It is a solid mouse. Honestly, though I have only just received it, I think it feels better in my hand than the M45. Feels more 'solid' somehow, which is helped greatly by the metal base. The buttons are nice to click and respond to a light touch. The side buttons are incredibly well placed, with a nice space for the thumb to rest when it isn't doing any button pressing. It has a much higher DPI range than the M45, the sensitivity on its highest level is insane, but it can be customised to the nearest 5dpi up to 16400! The report rate can also be set at 125, 250, 500 or 1000Mhz, and this can be done on the fly if bound to a button of your choice. The number of buttons is very useful and the software that is packaged with the mouse is sufficient to bind keys, commands and macros. The software allows 5 unique profiles, but also allows for saving setups to files, allowing for plenty of customisation between setups. Each profile has 5 DPI profiles within it, allowing you to change the DPI on the fly, differently depending on the active profile. The only complaint I have, is that the profile manager cannot set profiles automatically dependant on running programs, though there is a button on the base of the mouse that switches between then or you can map any other button to do this instead. The expanded functionality granted by the customisability of the additional buttons and the ability to set macros, mean that this mouse isn't only great for gaming, it can enhance productivity across a range of applications. All-in-all I cannot recommend this mouse enough. I genuinely cannot believe that this mouse is only £20. The quality is incredible. I am a strong believer that, up to a point, you get what you pay for. In this case however, I got far more than I paid for. Buy it. You'll be glad you did.

Incredible mouse, better than most high branded competitors.
This mouse disproves the myth that 'you get what you pay for' in this area. Other mice that cost several times more than this are equal to the standard of this and I think for its price this mouse is a bargain. The mouse features several programmable buttons which can be programmed in its very own driver program (which i had trouble getting hold of to start off with as i do not use a disc drive.) The button can be assigned to different macros or keys which i find incredibly useful for things such as gaming or shortcut keys in productivity. This mouse feels incredibly solid and includes a metal base in which a compartment where weights can be added or taken out to customize movement. The matte finish on the mouse surface has a very nice feel and doesn't feel cheap at all, and I have owned this for several months now and it still shows no signs of wear at all. The mouse features a nylon threaded wire which is long enough for most operations, and i find unlike my other mice the wire doesn't rub against the desk. This, paired with the incredibly high quality sensor, makes movement with this mouse on any surface an easy task. As a gamer, i had a very good experience using this mouse in both first person shooter and other games. Underneath the mouse there is a small button which toggles between 5 completely customisable modes, which are set to different DPI levels by default. These can be changed to allow different functions for the buttons and lights which are all placed on the mouse very well. The mouse also features a few rubber grips on the bottom which stop any sort of scratching onto the surface the mouse is being used on without causing friction and compromising movement speed. So overall, the only negative thing i have to say about this mouse is that the scroll wheel light colour cannot be changed easily, however this is not a big deal as I'm sure there's a way that i haven't found out yet, and the availability of the driver isn't the best if the user doesn't have a CD/DVD drive installed although I'll post a link below this review. Everything else about this mouse is incredible and has blown me away with its quality and small price. I would definitely recommend to anyone who is thinking about buying a mouse, especially for gaming purposes. Driver program: http://www.tecknetonline.com/download/MouseKeyboard/M008_V1.0.zip

For £60 I'd be very pleased with this
I do a gaming mouse diary/review thing for my clansite 'the Nitwitts' at 'thenitwitts.enjin.com'. Click on 'general discussion'. The idea is I spend the money so you don't have to.You can see my pain or not when using them. This one is nothing short of spectacular. I'm in the middle of my review on this one. Got about 100 gaming mice now and frankly for the money the Technet M008 is unbelievable. For £60 I'd be very pleased with this, for £20 it's a joke..in a nice way. It has a solid metal base as found on a Madcatz Rat, the non-sweat coating is one of the best I've ever seen, 13 buttons that are all programmable, good quality weights, the list just goes on. They've not gone cheap on this mouse at all, you get the lot. Those side buttons are a work of genius, they are all usable within a fraction of a second. The rear one is activate using the heal of your thumb and it works like a dream. This particular version comes without the fancy box or manual. It does have a manual, just not a fancy one. The fancy version is from Utechsmart and that's £30. As said, in the middle of testing this at present so it may fall down on something or other but right now think, for me, this is the best I've ever seen for the money by a long, long way. Seen alot of other mice from these particular makers, but this M008 is just way ahead of anything they've produced before. I've also got the Technet M009 and this is being reviewed on 'the nitwitts' site now. The M009 is a slightly bigger version of the M008, it's a few pounds cheaper, does'nt have a non-sweat coating and the buttons are not as good as the M008. As said, it's the unique side thumb buttons that interested me from the start on these mice, and to use they are lightning fast. At the end of the day you get your monies worth here. I have mice three/four times the price of these and half as good. At the moment Technet don't have the drivers available on their site but I've detailed where to get them at the nitwitts if the dog eats your disk. The softwares glitch free on W7 64bit, and it's got lots on it, again I've done many screenshots on the nitwitts which I can't put here. It's on par with the Perixx MX-2000 but with game winning side thumb buttons.

Colour of mouse doesn't activate unless you download an app for your computer . Sad really , mouse itself is light and responsive .
