It’s very difficult to review products most of the times online because many customers post reviews that is nonsense and have nothing to do with the product and mostly to do with shipping and the seller, I hope people reading this review will change the way they post a review and base it on the experience with the product. I reserved my review until now, I received this Monoprice 4 channel A/B speaker selector model MSV-4, after doing the research and comparing it with other brands that cost much more this one makes the best sense. I purchase this because I’m using only 4 zones and will have no need for a larger one even in the future. This unit when hooked up works flawless once you follow the instructions that comes with the unit, the stepped volume works excellent and it’s there for a reason, to control the amount of volume to each zone so you can easily set the sound to the perfect listening experience of all zones if required, there are on and off switches for each zone so you can select which ones you want on or off. I didn’t notice much of a drop in the loudness dB of my amp/receiver because all this unit is doing is keeping the load for the speakers at 16 ohms which would be impossible to accomplish using the amp/receiver alone with all the speakers on, but it can be done I would have to be explain it in detail that’s for another time. Also you can hook up two separate inputs to the selector so you can listen to two different sources by selecting the A/B switch on whichever zone you choose I have XM radio in one and TV, CD on another with endless possibilities. The cons I agreed with a reviewer that the speaker wire input connector at the rear are too close to each other and hard to insert when using 14awg wire so you have to be very careful not to have any wire expose that may touch each other and cause serious damage to the amp/receiver, I solder all the ends of the speaker wires to make it easier to insert into the connector which is removable read the instructions before hooking up.

i use a small 20W amp for my desktop stereo but always wanted to be able to add a second set of speakers. i did not know these speaker selector boxes existed, and it really does the trick. saved me from buying a new amp or bulky receiver on my limited desk space. it also seems to split the signal effectively without losing volume or behaving any different from usual. obviously if you dont have enough power and try to do 4 sets of speakers i'm sure it will struggle, but it's working just fine on my desktop pushing some bookshelf speakers.

Its a straightforward product -- and it worked out well. The delivery, information et al was well organised. The system works well and delivers what it was designed to do.
