It is worth the money. We love it.
My husband and I love this sink stopper. It stops wash cloths, silver ware and other items from falling into the garbage disposal while allowing water to drain out. It is easy to twist to close and fill the sink. I purchased and returned less expensive versions of sink plugs. This plug is worth the money. It fits well with the Insinkerator quiet rubber gasket.

Looks great and works perfectly! STP-DS Dual-position Stopper, Polished Stainless Steel
The sink in our new home did not come with a stopper, and after two generic stoppers purchased at hardware stores were too small for our InSinkErator drain, the search on Amazon began! Since the stoppers in this listing stated that they were by InSinkErator, I hoped that meant they would actually fit. I purchased the plain black, and the STP-DS Silver Saver Sink Stopper, Polished Stainless Steel, and both fit perfectly and seal tightly to fill the sink. I love the stainless dual-position stopper (STP-DS)! Our sink has a single drain with a disposal, and this stopper looks great and grips tightly in place, yet is easily removed when needed. I love that I can leave it in place all of the time, just pulling up the silver part of the stopper and slightly twisting to the open position. Water and smaller food can go down the drain to the disposal, but large items (like spoons!) are kept out. I can run my disposal with the stopper in the open position, and a quick twist allows the stopper to close to fill the sink for dishwashing. Brilliant! It was expensive (I know, it's just a sink stopper, right?), but I must say that for me it is worth it for the good looks and convenience of use, and since it stays in the drain, not having to find a place to put the stopper when not in use. I only wish that the silver top part of the stopper would stay perfectly straight when in the open position, as it tips slightly to the side (not enough to remove a star!). I wasn't sure how the stainless stopper was going to work out, so I had also ordered the plain black stopper (STP-PL Plastic Sink Stopper, Black). It's a basic stopper like I am used to having, made of hard plastic with a rubbery feeling seal that grips tight. I kept it as a back-up.

save your disposal from damage
ive been wanting this for many years but the price was like 50 dollars and im just not one to waste money that way. I finally got to put it to the test i have a 22x33 full open sink. I had my entire sink filled with dishes and silverware and i just partially washed and transferred it all to the dishwasher. this kept anything from falling in the disposal so i dont have to put my hand down in there anymore its a real nice piece and works wonderfully. my only downfall to it is that as it sits propped up it sits at an angle due to how it was designed. not a big deal though. I am going to have to guess this will not only save my silverware but also might help to prolong the life of my insinkerator. Ive had to change my insinkerator 4 times in about 11 years now im onto year 14 and probably due for another soon. i did learn about putting ice down there to clean it which also prolongs it so that might hopefully help too.

Lightweight construction
It works as needed, however the stopper is a bit flimsy, and doesn't sit straight. Otherwise it works OK.

Great product! Replacement seals available!
IMPORTANT INFO! PARTS AVAILABLE!! We've had this stopper for two years now, love it! People operate differently, but if you're looking for something that allows small particles of food to be able to pass through but keep stuff out of your disposal, this one is for you! You still have to pull the whole thing out in order for anything larger food to pass through, but it's really nice for plugging the sink! The middle stopper gasket which seals the built-in plug, is replaceable! I emailed the manufacturer and they recommended I checked with Carroll Parts, ended up buying five of the gaskets for just over a dollar, although shipping was the greater part of the cost I just replaced that gasket and the stopper is like brand new again! They actually sell the outside gasket too, if for some reason you need that.

It fits, it works, and I wish I had this 30 years ago
This sink stopper is awesome! Our old black rubber one that came with the garbage disposal was a hassle. Most of the time you don't want a stopper in, you need the water to flow down the drain, but the disposal drain hole is so big, cuttlery and other miscellaneous items get down the hole and the garbage disposal tries to grind them up... not good, not to mention safety to kids. This device stays IN the drain, all the time, and you turn it to drop the stopper to fill the sink, then turn it again to lift the stopper so water and soft food can drain out. Simple, looks good, makes my life a bit easier. Perfectly fit my in-sinkerator drain collar.

Not good: sits too high and is not easily set for drainage vs stoppage
I have a GE disposal, with a removable drain strainer. But, I no longer have the stopper. So, I bought this combo strainer/stopper -- thinking that it would remain in place in the drain and do the straining or the stopping, depending on the "setting". But-- I am disappointed. The Insinkerator strainer/stopper DOES work for stopping up the drain, so that the sink can be filled with water. But, usage as the strainer is not good. 1) When in the drain position, there is a fairly large opening to allow water to drain. But, the opening is too small to let food items (such as peas, or other food scraps of similar size) to go down the disposal drain. I then have to lift the stopper out, shake off the scraps, and push the scraps down the drain. It is much easier to simply have the original strainer in place, and then empty that down the drain. 2) The strainer/stopper is very loosely held together. The position of "drain" vs "stopper" is dependent on how the two parts are positioned. But, because the parts are so loose, it is difficult to get it to be in the position that you want. It mostly falls down into the drain stopper mode. So, basically, it is a pain to get it to be in the drain position (where the water flows down the drain.) 3) The unit sits very proud of the sink bottom (whether in the drain position or the stopper position). This means that if you have it always in the sink drain, the top of it will be about 1.5" above the bottom of your sink! You then cannot lay anything in the sink without it "resting" on top of the stopper. And, because the stopper is so loosely constructed, the stopper position will usually get reset/nudged to the drain stopper position by default. So, this is all very inconvenient. 4) If you have it in the drain stopper position (because you want to fill the sink with water for washing pots and pans), the pots and pans will readily "hit" the protruding stopper (whose top is about 1.5" above the sink bottom), and will often "trip" the setting so that the water starts draining. All-in-all, this is not a good design. But it does work as a stopper, so long as you are careful not to "hit" the top while washing stuff in the sink. I do not recommend this item. Better to get one of the other stopper/drainer combo items available.

It works!
I have an Insinkerator garburator that came with our home. The plug that was with it never worked. I replaced my sink and ordered a new quick lock mounting flange (great) and ordered this to plug the sink. The sink finally works when plugged. Meaning it doesn't drain water within minutes. Love the product line.

Extremely pleased!
We are very pleased with this item. It is far better and simpler to use in the waste disposal than the original one. Marvellous!

Does what it says on the tin
Fitted perfectly and does exactly what it says. And yes it falls over a little, but does that actually matter?

IT FITS!
Was a bit doubtful if my measurement of the original to be replaced was accurate - the rubber flange had perished. But I needn't have worried. This fits perfectly. Happy bunny. I'd hate to have to replace the whole waste disposal unit just because of a defunct Sink Stopper.
