I was bought this as a Christmas present. I was super hesitant to get started as I had only been to one crochet lesson (1hr and a half) and learnt how to do a single and double stitch. Firstly the kit is SO beautiful, it includes a very generous amount of yarn and materials. The walk through video led you through every step, it was so easy to follow along. I’m so so happy with how my turty turned out. This is such a lovely well thought out product and I really recommend it.

I bought this kit to try out crochet and was really impressed. The kit comes with everything you need (except for a pair of scissors to cut the yarn). The materials inside all feel like good quality, and make it easier to learn the different types of stitches used through the process. The kit also has a QR code linking you to written instructions, or an instructional video (different videos for left and right handed), which made it easy to follow and learn for a first project. I would definitely recommend this kit alongside the step by step video for a first time trying crochet.

I am OBSESSED with these cute little kits! Hugo the turtle was my second purchase from these guys. As a complete novice with no crochet experience before, these tins have given me massive confidence to crochet. Having the video tutorials are really handy and very easy to follow. The video is split into sections so you can fast forward to wherever you are on if you do it in stages. The quality of the materials are fab, the yarn is really nice and soft to use and the eyes are so cute. I was definitely drawn to buying it because of the cute eyes! The crochet needle is very ergonomic and comfy to hold. I’m looking forward to getting another tin and having a go at another one!!

The tin is lovely and the items included in it are high quality. The tube yarn is excellent for a beginner. I have tried crocheting a few times and was never able to do it due to the yarn I was choosing to use. This yarn makes the process much easier and I have purchased more of the yarn included to use in other projects I have started. I like the fact they have a guide for both right and left handers. The video is useful, but personally I found it frustrating that I could not rewind it easily back to watch something again and this led to some errors on my part because I gave up on the video and just used the written instructions instead. The kit includes everything you will need to make the model and a good quality hook and needle to use.

This is the first thing I ever managed to crochet, instruction video on YouTube you can follow was really helpful, the yarn is easy to use for beginners and it comes with everything you need. Great value for money. Very happy.

I so wanted to love this kit - my friend has just had a baby and I was keen to give her a handmade present. My main disappointment is the video instructions. The platform used for the video only allows manual rewinding, unlike platforms like YouTube where you can skip back 10 seconds. The video progresses really quickly, so inevitably you miss instructions whilst doing the previous stitch. Then you can't skip back, particularly with needle and wool in-hand! I spent literally hours manually rewinding to go over instructions I have missed, restarted entirely 5 or 6 times, then gave up. It is such a lovely looking kit, such a shame the whole experience clearly hasn't been tested on beginners.

This little kit is perfect for complete beginners, I’d never crocheted before and really wanted to learn. This kit taught me the basics which I’ve been able to build on and make so many different things. The kit contains everything you need as well as excess yarn in case you make a mistake, the hook is a good quality one with a rubber handle and the needle is metal, not cheap plastic like other kits include. The yarn is wonderful to work with, it doesn’t fray since it’s a tube yarn and is ideal for beginners just wanting to learn how to crochet without the added frustration of the yarn unraveling while you work with it. The video instructions are very detailed and easy to use, I managed to do the whole project from it, only referring to a couple of other videos when I needed a little extra explanation. Once made, the plush is a cute size, nothing over the top but it fits in my hand. My project wasn’t perfect, as it was my first, but, I received a lot of positive feedback for it. The kit was a joy from start to finish and it opened up a whole new hobby for me to enjoy. I’d say this kit is worth every penny if you’re wanting to learn how to crochet and you’re an absolute beginner. It won’t teach you everything but it will give you a good place to start!

Se devo trovare una nota negativa è che tutto, il tutorial,il manuale da scaricare siano solo in inglese,ma cmq piano piano si capisce.Rispetto ad altri kit questo è molto bello semplice completo.

I haven't fully completed my little guy yet but, after doing the body+head, tail and ears, I am confident in saying that this kit does include everything you need to start crocheting. I've crocheted before - it's been a hot minute - but I sort of know the basic stitches already. When I got this kit in the mail I grabbed my personal hooks because I was like "there is no way this comes with one I want to use". I was wrong! It comes with a fairly nice, beginner, ergonomic hook in size 3.0mm 3.0 is a little small for a starter project so you may have some trouble with the smaller stitches (I get hand cramps at this size and smaller which is why I'm not quite done - I have to take lots of breaks) Quick note: you will need to scan the QR code inside the package to get to the kit's website. There you can download the PDF pattern as well as a "Crochet Tips" manual. I printed both so I could have them on my desk in physical form. There is no physical pattern in the tin to save on space. The pattern is correct, it is easy to read, it explains the terminology at the start. It is full color, it has links (QR codes) to videos showing the different types of stitches and a walk through. There are plenty of stitch markers, stuffing, yarn to complete the project. I'm close to being done and I have tons of yellow yarn left. It has actual safety eyes included and tells you where/when to put them in the pattern. The tin is small enough/convenient to throw in a bag. The yarn is fab for beginning to crochet because it doesn't unravel. I'm really impressed because normally these budget kits are horrible and this one is seriously fantastic. Also - the tips for crocheting includes a part about starting the magic circle and for the first time I actually understand how to do that. I have always struggled with that technique and finally I have found a guide that helped me wrap my brain around it.

Honestly, this is great for people who are absolutely brand new and might be quitters. Yeah, it seems a little pricey for what you get, but if this is your very first project, and you don't even know if you like crochet, it is likely cheaper than going to the craft store and getting multiple colors of yarn (especially if you get the nice beginner friendly tube yarn like in this kit) and stuffing and all the little tools and accessories someone there is going to tell you that you need to get started from scratch. It has exactly what you need for the project (except for a pair of scissors to cut your yarn) and nothing extra, and it all fits in the very cute little tin. If you get halfway through and give up, it isn't going to take up a bunch of room in your closet, and if you finish and decide that you're not actually that interested in crocheting again, you don't have a bunch of extra stuff to offload on someone else or store somewhere. That said, it does set you up for a good experience. The yarn feels really nice, a cotton-blend tube of fabric rather than twisted strands that can come untwisted and make it hard to figure out where your stitches are of traditional yarn, and it makes a very soft plush toy. The hook is comfortable to hold with a grippy handle. You do have to download the pdf pattern if you want to work from it, but it is readily available on the website given and it there is a very thorough tutorial video to go with it, available for right and left handers. The woman shows you how to do everything from starting the magic ring, to doing every new type of stitch you come across in the pattern, and she makes the entire project, doing every one of those stitches you have to do so you can sit and watch how an entire row comes together. I've definitely encountered "beginner" kits that assume you already know how to read a pattern, and this does not. You don't need to know anything going in, and the video has lots of chapters so you can go back and forward easily to the part you need to watch again. I don't think I'd get another one of these for myself, because storage space isn't a concern for me, and I'm a crafter in general, so I'll find a use for extra materials if I have to go out and buy more than I need of something, but I could definitely see getting this as a gift for someone who has never crocheted before.

As most left handers can attest to, it’s hard to watch and learn things then make your mind and hands turn that info around “backward” to make them easier for your hands to manipulate. I had a lot of trouble figuring out how to make hand embroidery work for me because of this problem. I’ve never crocheted so I was a bit nervous ordering this kit. I shouldn’t have been because the videos alone made it so much easier to learn. Bonus, the yarn is very sturdy. If I paused or set the project down for a few days, I would forget where I was at and have to redo some sections. Thankfully, the yarn is a style/material that doesn’t fray and could handle the sections being redone multiple times. The kit, itself, is so cute and would make a perfect gift. I loved being able to store everything in the tin when not in use. I love this kit and the instructions were very well done!

I gave this to my daughter in a special gift basket I made her. The presentation is just so cute! It comes in the best little tin which makes receiving the gift even more exciting. The little bear is just adorable. The instructions are clear and it comes with everything you need. Super happy with it and my daughter loves it!
