Good Times Xpress Redi Set Go Cooker

I read the reviews and I'm really surprised cause I love this little machine. I have had mine for over a year and we use it every day. I'm actually about to buy a second one so I have it in my motorhome. I had the old silver one and I'll be honest I didn't care for it because everything came out in the same shape and I felt it was limiting....but the new red one with it's different pans is great! I agree that the timer is not the best...my numbers wiped off after about a week but I know where the time was so it has not been a problem. Yes it makes a popping noice when it's heating/cooking but that's how I know it's working :) I think that one of the reasons I love it so much is I only cook in the removable pans so I just remove and flip it out.... nothing ever sticks in it. I usualy use the large round removable pan any thing from cake, cookies, fried burritos, eggs, you name it and you can probably cook it in here. There is a cook book sold on here for this little machine and the recipes are easy and great. I bought one for my mother-in-law for her birthday cause she lives alone and doesn't like to cook big meals...she loves hers too. I'm sorry that people have had trouble but I wanted to be sure and leave a rave review so people can see it's wonderful!

Thanks. This is my second Ready Set Go Cooker. I am a very satisfied customer. My first one I'd had for years. The bell went first but it still kept cooking just fine. I had to watch it to know when it was finished but then I have a regular timer too so that is nothing. It was the non-stick coating going that told me to get a new one. I prayed they were still being made since I hadn't heard anything for so long on TV about them. Thank you for still making it cause it is a good little cooker. My old one was so old I don't know for sure just how old it was maybe close to 7 years. I just love the little red one.

Makes a pretty good sandwich melt. By using a modest amount of PAM spray nonstick (I used PAM with olive oil) you can get a good omelet without sticking. UPDATE FEB 15 2012: The timer knob broke and I called the manufacturer GAIAM Americas INC, Louisville CO, customer service to see if I could get a new one either warranty or just pay for it. The manufacturer wanted nothing to do with me. Although I purchased their product they displayed hostility because I didn't purchase from them. So I have emailed the Amazon seller for a knob we shall see where this goes. If you can find a similar device made by a reputable company such as GE, Black & Decker, I would go there.

I received the product last week and tried it out last night. Issues: The external surface got so hot that it melted the piece of the timer that attaches to the metal screw. The teflon coating in the pan came off as soon as I used a plastic scrubber to wash the thing (this is the SAME plastic scrubber I use on my other pots and pans). You have to watch this item when you cook with it, it gets far too hot to leave alone. I've only tried cooking beef with it. I don't think I want to cook any desserts or anything soft with it - it gets too hot. Although the insertable pans are great, cleaning the inside top is still an issue. Cons: I have to physically remove the timer after it's been set (so it won't melt). I have to stand and watch the food so it won't burn because the unit gets too hot. The teflon coating is cheaply done (I'll be using foil on the top and bottom for future cookings). Product Suggestions: Come up with an insertable top/bottom combo (something that could be unfolded/folded and cover both the top and bottom of the item being cooked). Put a better teflon finish on the thing. I'd also suggest a latching device. I'm not going to send it back, too much of a pain. But, until improvements are made, I wouldn't recommend this to anyone.

The timer knob never seemed to work correctly, it woundn't ring if it was just set for a minute or two. And then it broke off. This is only after a few uses. And the "non-stick" surface is not all that non-stick. It was very hard to clean even though we followed directions for using cooking spray and following recipes in the books they send. It was not good to cook for eggs, what a mess. The steak was tasty, but that was one of things that really was hard to clean off. The only good thing I can say from the few uses, was the mini cinnamon buns it makes. They were very very good and did not stick. But being the unit is broken, we decided not just to keep this just to make mini cinnamon buns. It was fun to use for a few tries around the holidays, but they would have to improve the quality and non-stick surface for this to be worth it, even for someone who is single and wants it for a few quick meals. I just don't see it lasting very long.

I purchased two.... One for the house and one for when we stay in hotels and dont wanna eat out. We love it. We have use it everyday, I have used all the attachments. I have had no problems with sticking as I spray with Pam before I use it. Also, I use the plastic spatula that came with it so I have no scratches on my cooking service. I ordered mine before I read the reviews once I read the other reviews I was worried, however I realize that not everyone uses plastic spatulas and use metals or will cut with a knife directly on a cooking service which will cause scratches. I have cooked several things on this some out of the cook book some on my own and every time it is delicious. Thinking about sending one to my family for Christmas. We have cooked raw chicken,no problems with sticking, cooked cinnamon buns, eggs, my favorite is a hot ham and cheese sandwich. Love this machine glad I got it.

I bought 2 of the beautiful RED cookers and did all the prep asked in the instructions. In cooking for 8 mins on some food, i noticed neither black tops were turning and come to find out, they had melted. I called Ohio customer service and the refused to help or even listen to me saying that since I bought thru Amazon I would have to deal with them. It is their product and they should want to deal with helping out. She said the only way to get fixed is to send the whole units back and that is the most stupid idea when all she had to do is send me 2 little black lids. No wonder this country is so &%^(*&^ messed up wasting time and money. Expensive to send back and out all that money without using and she could send them that would on cost Cents on the Dollar. No, just more waste and bad taste in dealing with this product maker. ONE MAD CUSTOMER OVER 2 STUPID MELTED DIALS.
