Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception - The Complete Official Guide

OK I'm 71 years old and just began to play video games using a PS3 (in my youth, checkers was about the only thing available to add some excitement to my life). The Uncharted games have become my favorite because of the story lines, problem solving, and just enough violence to keep it exciting. For us seniors I've found that these games help to maintain hand/eye coordination and to sharpen critical thinking skills, but with that said on occasion these guides provide a means to lower the frustration level when you get stuck and can't proceed to the next level. This one is very well done (the Brady editions too), and also makes a good read. I hope this review helps you in making a buying decision.

I wont lie; I am horrible at video games, so I need guide books like this to get my through. Yet I feel like this guidebook was like an uncharted puzzle. While this book was very good at telling you want to do in the game, it often omitted the how and where part. I often found myself re-reading the chapter to get a better understanding of what I was suppose to do, often I had to shuffle back and forth to the appendix to see how a puzzle was solved. This doesn't really make any sense to me; seeing that I am reading the guide to specifically see how to complete a portion of the game. In addition I feel like visual clues were missing from the book, I would often find myself looking for a broad and general clue, but am unable to find it, due to the lack of visuals. I did enjoy how the guide introduced you to the world of Drake and Uncharted if this was your first time playing the Uncharted Series. In addition they did a great job showing you where various treasures were located throughout the game. That being said, this guidebook was great in helping me beat the game. I just wished there was a clearer description on how to solve certain puzzles in the game with visuals.

I am a HUGE fan of the Uncharted series. I'm not sure that I liked this game better than its two predecessors, but the story line shows the background of how Nate and Sully first came into contact with each other. The story line is, as customary with the series, a very good one. I'm really hoping that they'll come out with an Uncharted 4 sometime soon - there's no other game on the market like it (at least, of which I'm aware).

Really great guide, it's a must have when hitting those areas you need a little help with. I would highly recommend this guide to anyone playing the game.

I had a problem I couldn't solve so I got this book! It is a wealth of information on this game! I learned all kinds of things! Plus I solved my problem!
