An absolute delight to read. Satirical, funny, thought provoking and very entertaining. Book five Mostly Harmless is good, offering another alternative ending for Arthur, Trillion, Random et al, but not an essential read, if you were satisfied with the end to the original stories. Perhaps book four could be viewed as ending A and book five ending B. This plays to the multiverse alternative realities of this universe, leaving the reader to make their own mind up. Enjoy, roll out your towel and relax. These books are real treasures and are highly recommended.

Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy - brilliant! Sheer genius

Bought these books as I really liked the cover and have been meaning to read the series for a long time. Finished the series by now and was not disappointed! Have never laughed that much while reading a book series. Douglas Adams was a genius. Only reason for 4 stars, was that I got the books in other covers than the ones shown on the display, and as I care a lot about the aesthetic of books, it was a little disappointing. Other than that, they are perfect! :)

I’ve only ever owned a collected version of the series, with all stories in one book. To have each titles with its own unique cover is great. Top quality, rich colours, sturdy box.

Brilliant series of books and good quality too! I bought other versions of this book which were of far less quality that I sent back, these were perfect and really well priced. Comes as 5 separate books, all paperback, but matching in cover/spine design. Will look good on the shelf once they're all finished!

The 5 book Collection was delivered in a timely manner but the packaging was missing any bubble wrap and the holder of the 5 books was very bashed about. Books OK

Douglas Adams - mehr braucht es nicht. Diese Bücher kann man immer wieder lesen.

Auf den ersten Blick sah der Karton klein aus … dennoch ist alles genau richtig! Die Bücher (englisches Original ist leicht zu lesen) sind Taschenbücher, im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes: ein Buch passt in die Tasche. Paperback muss sein, sonst wäre der originale Flair verloren. Also passt alles. Der englische Humor ist grandios, laute Lacher und regelmäßiges Kopfschütteln inklusive. Es ist schon erstaunlich, wie aktuell der Inhalt eines fast 50 Jahre alten Buches sein kann! Die Anknüpfungen an Sozialkritik sind tiefgründig und humorvoll, niemals belastend, und einfach nur herrlich zu lesen. Dennoch klingt alles so, als wäre dieses Werk aus aktueller Zeit. Na gut, ein paar technische Details sind heute besser bekannt, aber der eigentliche Sinn ist unverändert. Es ist kaum zu glauben, dass dieses Werk Ende der 1970er entstanden ist. Für alle, die englisch lesen und lachen können ist das aus meiner Sicht eine Pflichtlektüre. Wenn man den Schuber besitzt, wirkt der Inhalt der Bände nach, solange man denken kann. Achtung: diese Literatur kann dem Partner den Urlaub versauen, Weil man wirklich komplett in ein anderes Universum gebeamt wird (tatsächlich!) und wenig Aufmerksamkeit für die Familie bleibt.

Eine sehr lustige Buchreihe, wenn man einigermaßen gut Englisch kann.
