Do it do it do it
I got tired of my husband asking me to hold his things in my purse so I got him his own bag and he loves it. He is able to carry his essentials and more. The material is quality and withstands abuse from everyday adventures.

Size XS fits a Surface Pro 12" (2025) / Perfect minimalist carry
The XS size fits a Surface Pro 12" - measured with keyboard cover 10.75" x 7.6". Water bottle must be no more than 3" in diameter and 8" tall. I'm using a Hydrapak Recon 25oz/750ml bottle at 8.5" and the flap is just a little tight to clip in on that side. There is a mesh holder opposite the water bottle that will accommodate a compact umbrella. Without anything in the umbrella holder, there is room for a small tech organizer (maybe 7x3) plus EDC items if you don't try to cram in over the ear headphones - Beyerdynamic DT770s barely fit with anything other than the water bottle. The two inside front panel pen holders work great, as well as the larger pocket on either side, which I'm using for reading and sunglasses. I like the feel of the material as well. Soft! I think this is the perfect size for a minimalist carry for this device.

*** my years-old Timbuk2 messenger bag was long overdue for retirement ... I finally purchased one 1-size larger and I'm 100% satisfied with the bag I received.

Handle placement
Love the bag. One functional note is the handle that sits on the back of the bag. It is great to have, but it your bag has stuff in it that is mildly heavy, it will dig into your bag.

Pricey but Worth It
I was pretty nervous dropping this much money when $50 messengers have done fine for me in the past but Iโm really happy I bought this. It looks great, it was more comfortable to wear than I expected, and has been, so far, a good workhorse for going into my work with my MacBook.

New Messenger bag is a 'Mixed Bag'
I have the prior generation Classic Messenger (small size, 'cordura') and I use it every day. Had it for years and I really like that bag. I saw that there is a new version of this bag that came out about a year ago. I'm going on a long trip and saw an opportunity to update the bag and get the Flight Classic Messenger instead of the Classic Messenger. They are functionally the same design, the main difference is that the Flight bag is made out of ripstop nylon versus the cordura fabric and is therefore about half a pound lighter. So I ordered the Flight Classic Messenger. However, that is not what I got. Amazon sent me the Classic Messenger vice the Flight Classic Messenger, and of course in the wrong color. Yes I confirmed I ordered the Flight Classic Messenger, the correct product. But... they also sent me a customer returned bag in Amazon's generic package with their 'LPN' labels overtop of the Timbuk2 labels. That is really annoying, this is advertised as new, not used. So this bag has to go back and I'd guess someone else will get this bag as new. I'm not going to make a new order for the Flight bag, I just don't know what I'm going to get.So that frustration aside, how does the new bag compare to the old? First the quality of materials is about the same if not better in some places. One of the biggest differences is the strap. The strap really makes the Messenger bag work for me. On my old bag it is so easy to adjust after I throw it over my shoulder and get it to fit on my back. There is no excess strap dangling off to the side. Nice and clean, easy, fast. On the new bag, the strap material is wider and more like seat belt material. A slight upgrade, but.... they completely changed the mechanism to adjust the strap. It is made out of aluminum vice plastic, nice, but it works completely differently, not nice. The new buckle has less adjustability than the old. What I mean is that it shortens the strap less than the old mechanism. So getting it over your head you have less room than before. A little less comfortable. The way the new strap works leaves about a foot of fabric dangling off to the side. There is a little keeper you can slide down to help get it out of your way but it doesn't make much of a difference. The old strap is functionally better. The new strap has nicer material, but overall to me this is a downgrade and this is a major functional feature of this bag.The new bag has more pockets, nice. The 'Napolean' pocket can now be accessed from either side, better. The strap can be flipped if you want to wear the bag over your other shoulder, I assume if you are left handed. That is why the Napolean pocket can be accessed from either side. So if you are left-handed this is good. The old bag, the strap is sewn to the body.So the bottom line is the new bag is an improvement in many ways, but the new strap is less functional than the old. Amazon screwed up my order so I'm returning it regardless. If they had sent the right item, new (not used) I might keep it and just deal with the new strap, but I'm going to return this bag and not try to get the Flight Classic Messenger that I wanted. I'll just keep my old bag and use it until it dies. Probably many years from now. It is a good bag, but the strap functionality is a key downgrade for me. If they kept the old strap mechanism it would have been an all around improvement. Your experience may be different.

Equipment for a student
It was a present for a new student. It works as expected, has enough room for all the requiered equipment and still is a stylisch way of carrying all that stuff.

Comfortable and well made
Although not cheap, you get what you pay for. This feels comfortable, well made and big enough but not too big in my opinion. I got the Large version which can just about fit an A3 clipboard (the clipbaord being 435mm width x 230mm height and is what i mainly use it for). It can also easily fit my 17" laptop.
