A Little Pricey, But Totally Worth It!
The Dewitt Pro-5 Weed Barrier Woven Fabric is a bit on the pricier side, but itโs absolutely worth every penny! This fabric is incredibly durable and has done an excellent job at keeping weeds at bay in my garden and flower beds. Itโs woven tightly, allowing water and nutrients to pass through while blocking weeds from growing. Iโve tried other weed barriers in the past, but this one stands out for its quality and longevity. Itโs easy to lay down, doesnโt tear easily, and holds up well under the elements. After installing it, Iโve noticed a significant reduction in weeds, and my plants have been thriving without the constant hassle of pulling weeds. If you want a high-quality, reliable weed barrier that will last, I highly recommend the Dewitt Pro-5 Weed Barrier. Itโs an investment that pays off in the long run!

Great Product!
I have used a variety of weed barrier fabric and I have more confidence in this product then any that I have used over the last 3 decades. Easy to use and cut but very strong.

Great Product and Great Service
The seller of this product, Spreetail, are fine folks. Apparently, my original order was lost by the shipper or something, and before I even knew there was a problem, Spreetail notified me there was a shipping issue and sent out a new package that I received promptly. You just donโt see that kind of care be taken anymore and I wanted to let everyone know about my experience. Dewitt weed blocker is the best too. The rolls are packaged well and itโs a heavy material bound to hold up better than the cheap paper-like only weed block that I am used to seeing at the big box stores. It has an open weave poly backing to give it some strength. Overall, very impressed with the product AND the service.

The DeWitt weed barrier - too tough to die!
3 days after l got the DeWitt pro weed and grass barrier l put it down. It was so easy, so light, l wondered if it would hold up and not tear up. It's done a magnificent job, so far no weeds or grass have come up thru the barrier. It's very tough, cause l put gravel on top, and there are no tears in it. Great value for the price. I'm very pleased with this weed barrier. I'm sold on it

Nice heavy fabric
*UPDATE 2* Well now after a few seasons this is still holding up fairly well. Using some chemical weed block helped a little, and the rubber mulch certainly isn't decomposing, but still I have to weed the beds a couple times per year. Various grasses and weeds still germinate in the leaves/detritus/needles/etc that end up in the mulch and themselves decompose. I think the best solution is to hire landscapers <g> *END UPDATE 2* *UPDATE* By the end of the season some weeds had managed to grow through the fabric (germinate on top and send roots down through the fabric). Pulling out the weeds did not result in any tears/rips unlike the experience I had with the less costly fabric where pulling out weeds occassionally caused tears. I was cautious with chemical weed-block because of a previous experience where it damaged several of my plantings, and will likely try again with chemical weed-block in smaller quantities to try and avoid some of the weed germination next season. *END UPDATE* I bought the first roll of this after reading the reviews to replace some fabric. I bought the second roll after seeing the thickness and (apparent) durability of the first. I have about 1100-1200 sq ft that I'm going to cover to start with and I expect to need very close to all of two rolls. I had previously been using bark mulch and bought this fabric to go under new rubber mulch. I had to replace the big box fabric primarily for two reasons 1) fabric had ripped in places as a result of removing a rosebush that had gone completely wild and 2) many weeds had started growing from the top side of the fabric through the fabric into the ground due to decomposing bark mulch. I am not as negative about the big box fabric as some other reviewers. If I had replaced my bark mulch every year, and not allowed the rose bush to run amok I think it would have held up well. The main complaint I have for the big box fabric is how quickly it degrades when exposed to any direct sun. I doubt I'll remember to update this review in 5 years with info about how well it held up. Pulling the weeds out of the old fabric that had been exposed to the elements led to more and more rips, and rendered the fabric ineffective. I upgraded to the Dewitt fabric because with rubber mulch I expect the mulch (and the fabric) to last many more years. The fabric is reminiscent of lawn chair webbing. It takes a good pair of shears to cut, and a nice sharp point to poke a hole in order to put in a fabric stake (I used plastic ones with a large round head). It is a bit narrower than the fabric it replaces, so with the recommended overlap you get rather less coverage than the 750 sq ft you would calculate based just on the dimensions of the roll (about 12-14% less). It is durable, and at no point have I so far poked through the fabric unintentionally, either by walking on it, or dropping tools etc on it, while installing. If I were not installing rubber mulch, and not expecting a fabric to last 10 years, I may still have opted for the much less expensive fabric, and replaced it more frequently. I give this 4 stars primarily based on value. I would guess this does not save money overall, but does reduce the amount of work (i.e. how frequently it gets replaced). If saving time & better durability is more important than saving money, I'd recommend this fabric.

Solid ground cover
Awesome ground cover. Iโve had it down for about 6 months now and itโs keeping all the weeds and grass at bay. I put this in my hoop house to cover the ground and so far thereโs no tears or holes, even with us in there daily and the kids playing in there. Itโs expensive but you get what you pay for.

Works Perfect!
This weed barrier is awesome! If you've ever used the thin inexpensive weed barrier from a big box store, the difference between that and this fabric is like night and day. It is easy to install, stays in place quite well even before you staple it or pin it in place. Nothing comes up through it or under it as far as I can tell. We have a couple of areas where we left this exposed all summer (no mulch), we walked on it and it's tough. No cuts or tears whatsoever, not even from rocks or tree roots. This is what we'll be using for all our future landscaping projects. I highly recommend this weed barrier.

not industrial grade geotextile
It is not as thick or opaque as I had been led to believe by some of the reviews here. Letโs hope it will be effective for my application. If you really need industrial grade geotextile this is not the product you are looking for.

Nice product, quality and durable
I purchased a similar product 8 years ago, and it needed replacing. I spend many hours trying to find a product to replace the old one. There are a lot of less quality on the market. It is really difficult to find a good one, as they all claim to be. BUT I was so happy when this arrived and it was identical to my old one. Installed in as greenhouse flooring, and i LOVE it........
