Willow Tree Surprise, Sculpted Hand-Painted Figure

We bought this for my MIL for Mother’s Day, and she loved it! I was happy that we could shop for something that seemed to really embody her and her wonderful spirit. There were so many great picks! This is a great way to give a beautiful, personalized gift.

This beautiful figure delivers a sense of happiness, freedom, an arriving. It’s small and sturdy yet lightweight. A perfect complement to someone’s collection, or perfect as a stand alone piece of art.

I wanted to add a Willow Tree figurine to my collection in honor of America's 250th anniversary. This is perfect - plain, simple - but very patriotic. I love it!

I bought this to honor our marine son who passed away. I have it by his flag and dog tags. It reminds me of his service and how proud I was to be given his memorial flag that day. It makes a wonderful gift and evokes a memory every time I see it.

I purchased this particular Willow Creek figurine as it reminds me of my Mom, who sang in public with choirs or as a soloist from the age of 2 years through her mid 90s, only formally having to give it up publicly because she had advanced macular degeneration in both eyes and could no longer see well enough to read any music. What I love about Willow Creek figures in general is the absence of any facial features or expressions allow each individual viewing one to imagine for themselves what the artist was trying to express in the original sculpting of the figure (or figures sometimes), allowing the figurine to become very personalized in its meaning to each person individually. This particular figurine is unique in that not only is the dress fully and artfully carved, but the carvings on the dress have been highlighted in blue. The more common Willow Tree figurines leave the clothes very plain and a solid off white in terms of color. Carved on this dress you will find a clarinet (or oboe), a drum with drumsticks, a tamborine, a keyboard, a French horn, a harp, a violin (or viola or cello), a bow, a saxaphone, an accordion and a guitar. You can also find both the bass and treble clef, notes on a music staff, and several dancers. The dress is has so much carved into it, just a tiny turn of the figurine gives the observer an entirely new set of things to see, as well as leaving a different look to the musician. The hair as well has been quite intricately sculpted. This Willow Tree figurine does come in two different skin tones, a lighter version and a darker version. I purchased the lighter version, so that is what you see in my photos. This particular Willow Tree figurine would make a great gift for any lover of music or the arts in general and would be especially appropriate to a graduate receiving a degree in music performance.
