PH80 - Very good value.
HM make very good kit and this budget PH pen is one of the best I have used, very accurate and very simple. The only complaint is that it could do with a larger LCD readout, other than that perfect. Very highly recommended.

Hard wearing and easy to use
I have been through a lot of different ph pens, I did buy this same pen 18 months ago and it's worked flawlessly until I misplaced it and then it was never found. Within those 18 months it only needed re calibration once. So I have took this opportunity to let you all know it is worth every penny.

Does the job once calibrated, but not the best.
Definitely a step up from the cheap £12 ones, but a step down from the apera ph20 which has served me for the last 2 years. Unfortunately I was in need of this meter quickly and the apera comes from the US and would have taken 2 weeks to arrive. Out of the box it required calibration as it was reading 0.4 out. So if you are using for hydroponics and need high accuracy I'd make sure to calibrate before first use. The build quality is fair, again not as nice in the hand as the apera but it doesn't feel too cheap. Once calibrated it works well and reads true. Can't comment on longevity yet as I've only had it a day! The screen is small and difficult to read and isn't backlit, however it does clearly show temperature and PH so I can't complain too much So to summarise, go for it if you need it tomorrow and you have prime, but if you can wait, go for the apera ph20 it's only £10 more and has a proven track record.

Needs calibrating constantly. Not worth the price.
I've used this product for a month or so now, luckily I also bought a cheap one from another site to test against. The cheap one has not needed calibrating once yet, I test both weekly as I use for fish tank. The PH 80 is always out within a few days of calibrating by as much as 0.7. Absolute waste of money, wish I could return but missed the window as I kept giving it a chance. Not happy with product and certainly would not purchase again.

Easy To Calibrate and Use
I have used the meter once, and it provided what I believe to be an accurate reading. It could be improved if the display were a little easier to read, with a back light. Overall though I think it was a good buy.

Ph Tester
Malawi Cichlids tank. Very good and accurate product.

Simple to use and does its job
I use for measuring the fertiliser pH for my orchids - not sure how accurate it is as I have nothing to compare - also brought some buffer and storage solution to calibrate the unit to be on the safe side.

fits the bill nicely.
Using it for pH testing of home made beer and cider and does the job well. haven't had to recalibrate as yet, but how hard can it be ?

I had a couple of the cheaper models of PH meters to use with my Medical Cannabis watering/fertilizing and found them to be relatively inaccurate and always in need of recalibration. This new one is the Bomb - easy and reliable. Medical Cannabis is an expensive crop to lose because of faulty equipment and I trust this meter.

I also own the far more precise, and more expensive meter by the same company. It has a replaceable probe that costs almost as much as this entire meter. It was nice to have that precision, of course, but I found that I was rounding off anyway, so I really didn't need it. By that time, i was used to the time it took for that very precise meter to settle into a final reading. When I first began using this meter, it seemed that the meter settled into the final reading almost immediately. Perhaps I've gotten spoiled, or maybe it happens as the meter gets older, but it now seems to take a little longer for the meter to settle in. It still only takes a few seconds, and I rarely wait even a full minute to take a final reading. I calibrate on a regular basis, once every week or two. Sometimes, I find that the meter has barely changed in calibration, and I don't need to do anything. Other times, after longer waits between calibrations, I have found a drift of 0.1 to 0.3, which isn't that much at all for my purposes. Luckily, calibration is simple and easy, and all you need is a source of the calibrating liquid and a small cup. I've abandoned the use of my more precise meter, and instead of buying replacement probes, I just buy another one of these meters every few years. All meters wear out eventually, since it is in the nature of the little glass bulb to slowly erode (which is why you need to recalibrate). In my situation, it makes more sense to get another one of these fine meters with a rapid response time, instead of buying a new probe for the more precise meter with the slower response time. They are all excellent meters, highly reliable, but I have ultimately settled on less precision and a more rapid response.

-> Trotzdem 5 Sterne.
