I currently have 4 yellow RAINPOINT Wi-Fi Sprinkler Smart Water Timers installed on drip irrigation systems around my home. I recently received the new upgraded Wi-Fi/Bluetooth Smart water timer. The new timer is more compact and has a brass inlet which is a big improvement from the old plastic inlet which could easily be stripped or broken. The hub is much smaller and only about 1 3/4" x 2 1/4". The old yellow version timer uses 4 AA batteries. The new version uses 3 AAA batteries. The location of the batteries on the new unit are in the front of the timer which is more convenient.I already had the app installed so all I needed to do was update to the new version. Setup was a bit of an issue. The instructions are very basic so they were easy to follow. Unfortunately I kept getting a message to turn on my phones Bluetooth which was already on. After multiple attempts I noticed a small statement on the screen that could be clicked. I clicked on that and I was asked to allow the device to use my Bluetooth. I agreed and the Installation proceeded without any additional issues. There was no mention at all in the instructions about this settings function which will be a problem for some users as it is not very visible. Programming the device in the App is simple with the ability to choose days of the week to water and program multiple watering times per day. So far the unit seems to be working well and I am happy with the timer. I also want to add that Rainpoint is very responsive when contacted. I had one of my yellow timers malfunction. I called Rainpoint, they answered the call quickly, and they shipped me a new free unit immediately. Unfortunately I had another timer stop working and within 3 days I received a free replacement with an additional 5 year warranty. Customer service is fantastic.

2024 UPDATE: I had an minor issue with my timer this spring when setting up my gardens, contacted Rainpoint support, and they fixed the issue immediately and without question. Such excellent support!! I will be sure to support this brand going forward!----Looking to automate the mundane task of watering my outdoor plants, I set up a simple irrigation system: 1/4in tubing, drip attachments, a 1/4in to standard hose adaptor, and this timer.It works brilliantly. Insert batteries, attach to faucet, download app, pair, set schedule, and go. It all took just a few minutes and was so easy to set up. The rainpoint app is intuitive and comes with preset watering schedules and is very customizable. It gets forecasts for your location and can adjust watering based on the weather - so you're not that person using extra water on rainy days. Perfect.A tiny "hub" is included to keep your timer persistently connected to wifi. Mine is 30 feet inside my house and connects to the main timer very well, even through a thick brick wall, and having this hub reduces the battery drain on the timer itself.Cheers to safe, smart, and responsible use of our precious water!

I’ve used several timer in the past and half them rather return or start leaking, this is the one that I would recommend. I like the fact that I can program it and turn it on/off remotely while am away from home. Definitely will purchase dual on in the future.

Works as expected. Connection and setup was pretty easy. I have noticed a bit of leakage, but nothing major.
