Does it still have the same compatibility issue with larger magazines/clips? Apparently, the blaster would just shut down when more ammo is used.

That was only when larger magazines were used back to back as fast as possible. Which is not practical unless you’re trying to shut it down. I have had no issues.

Does this come with the forward grip

No. Its in the description, but mine did not come with the forward grip. And I've read others that did not get it either.

Can I just cut the thermistor out? I heard that the thermistor was hypersensitive.

Once you remove the thermo-resister you can not use regular batteries. I cut mine out, and have to use the LiFePO 3.2V vs a AA 1.5V. If you only put 4 AA batteries in after removing the thermister, you have no power. However, if you use 4 3.2V batteries, you will almost certainly blow up the motors that push the darts out. The trick is to buy a couple "blank" AA batteries that only complete the circuit and allow you to run 2 or 3 3.2V batteries.
