Essential English Grammar with Answers

I received the book today. Pages are in good condition. The book is for beginners. Syllabus of grammar is given from basics. I find the book very useful. Thank you amazon. In the days ahead I will update more.

Good for practice

Good as aback up grammar book - still recommend Wren and Martin as base. Having said that still extra practice is always helpful

I belong to UP and have my schooling in mixed medium school (Hindi + English); therefore, my English skills were not at par with the guys from a good English medium school. Since English was not a medium of conversation in my family, my spoken and written English both lacked clarity. Most of the Hindi medium guys will have the same story as me; we want to speak in English but somehow lack courage and confidence. In my childhood, I heard that Wren and Martin is the best book for English Grammar; I purchased a copy too and later found out that it was not helping enough. I needed a book that would help me start with the basics and put me to the test for each concept. Luckily I got hold of Raymond Murphy's this book in my college library. It was exactly the format that I needed. This book presents every topic in lucid details and provides the exercises for practice. The pages on the left teach the concepts in simple language, and the page on the right gives you different problems to solve and test your skills. This book has around 120 Units, each having a small brief about the grammatical rules. This 'short session' approach helps in mastering each concept in detail. The best part is that the book also contains the answers, which allows us to rectify our mistakes. In other popular books, there are no answers, and you have to buy separate help books for answers. After Completing this Essential English Grammar book, it is recommended to go for the Intermediate and Advanced Grammar books by the same author to increase the scope of learning. Overall, this All-In-One (Concepts+ Exercises + Answers) book helped me make my English better. By doing just 2 Units daily, one would be able to learn English better and in a brief span of time.

It's a very practical english learning book. Makes learning easy and fun. Gives the basics in a few lines. Followed by illustrated questions. Answers at the back of the book.
