I like big ice cubes for my bourbon. This tray does a good job. The top lid allows you to fill the tray to make the cubes jumbo,rounded edge squares. It’s a little hard at first to get the cubes out, but with a little practice it’s not bad.

These are so much better than the flexible silicone ones. I really struggled to get the silicone ones to fill without spilling out the sides. These were a breeze to fill and getting them released once they were frozen was also easy. I would definitely recommend this product. And the size of the ice ball is perfect.

This makes awesome ice balls using the provided instructions, some of the time. My actual rating is a 3.5. Amazon won't allow that rating. For the price it is a good value. I like not needing a separate funnel. If I owned the company, I would improve this product by adding some type of external clamping system to keep the mold halves held together tightly. I have had mostly good luck getting completely round ice balls, but sometimes the molds separate slightly and leave a thin layer of ice around the ice balls in the space between the mold halves. The loss of water causes the ice balls to have a flat spot on top. I would also make the molded rings that make the trays stackable, deeper. One of mine slid off the stack and broke the handle off when it hit the floor. There are a series of two tabs around the edge of the trays to hold the halves together. They seem to get weaker with time, making it harder to make perfectly round ice balls. If I were using ice balls in a business that being perfectly round mattered, I would probably try a different design. Since I don't care if there is a flat spot and I like being able to quickly make 12 ice balls at a time, this serves my needs.

These worked great for me! I used filtered distilled water and the ice comes out crystal clear. I messed up the first batch and some of the cubes had a flat spot but I have the hang of it now. The ice lasts a long time. Highly recommend!
