Fluval A1175 Air Plastic Control Valve

Ok, firstly, this is a perfectly useable little valve. It gives you the ability to turn your bubbler on, or off. I was hoping to use it to regulate air flow to my little air stone in my tiny Sea Monkey tank. They need just the very slightest trickle of bubbles, otherwise they can't properly function. Too strong of a current keeps them from foraging, especially the immature ones. I ordered a mini USB air pump and it didn't come with any kind of control valve so I thought, for the price, I will give this one a try. There is no finessing this thing. No matter how careful and delicately you play with the valve, it will snap to either a full air flow, or cut air off completely. However, this valve is perfect if you don't need that level of precision. I will keep it in case I have situation where I need it, otherwise I will try to find one with a screw type valve. To summarize, great product in the right application!

If you need just one control valve, do this one. Its the cheapest one available. It functions well and is fluval quality which is just... amazing. If you need more than one control valve... maybe find another option. there's 10 packs for similar pricing. This was just $0.50 cheaper than buying a 10 pack and I only needed one so I figured I keep the half dollar. If I need another singular control valve I'd probably buy it again though. :)

Ok, I gotta be honest here. I know this is plastic and I know it doesn’t cost very much. But I just think Fluval could have made it somewhat better. Listen, I have been buying Fluval products for around 25 years. I like the company, and I’m a fan of their products. You can pretty much be guaranteed that when you buy a Fluval item, it will be great. Now I didn’t really need this air control valve as I have dozens of these things floating around my supply bins. But when I seen this Fluval valve had a large size wing adjuster I was intrigued and wanted to give it shot. Now this thing looks pretty cool. The picture is a little deceiving and makes it look larger than it really is. It’s super tiny. Don’t get me wrong. This thing works good, but it is a bit tight to get the wing to swivel. I think my main beef with this is that it just feels very cheap. When I holding it, it doesn’t feel like an item that Fluval would slap their name on. I don’t know, maybe I’m just being nit-picky here, but I’m just not impressed with it. Honestly? I would love to see Fluval design a metal version of this. Same design and specs. I would buy one of those up real quick. And no, I’m not just hating on this cause it’s plastic. I’m just not digging how cheap this plastic feels. I seriously feel that with the strength it takes to swivel the wing, I feel I’m gonna break it. Im not telling people not to buy this. Im just giving my opinion on it. You might dig it. Like I said earlier, I like Fluval. Just not this air valve. Now I’m giving this a 4 star review, only losing that one star cause my personal issues with its cheap feel. Sorry for this long winded review. I just want people to know what exactly is going to show up to your door when you order. I hope this review helps some of you out.

So nice to have these when your air pump doesn't have an adjustment valve!

Didn’t work

All I had to do was cut the cable, put the valve in and adjusted as I needed it. It is a little hard to get to a low flow (I will add a betta in my tank) so you just have to be patient, but it does the job :) Very happy with the results.

I have two fish tanks and I always feel like the bubbles blast too hard or the water flow is just too much for my fish, so this little gadget is an easy fix. You just cut the air hose and stick it in and re-connect. It works and my fish are happier with less turbulence in the water.

Great item worked for exactly what I needed. I attached it to the air hose and it controls the air flow perfectly, used it on my bioOrb for my beta fish that likes a calmer water.

Did their job. Easy to squeeze on. Nice and tight.

Works great, if you want minimal air flow it might be a bit tricky to slowly turn the switch enough to only get a bit of air flow but I was able to get it within 20 seconds
