Perfect
I use Centurylink. The modem was easy to install and has worked perfectly since June 2025. The connectivity is with a wired router, no wi-fi, and it works great.

Don't buy renewed, BUY NEW
Paid more to buy one that was new and not refurbished. It works great, after going thru 2 refurbished ones of a different style, one had not power, and the second one flickered on and off, the type century link uses, one I bought and one they gave me. Finally looked into this style after two weeks of no internet. My daughter came over and set it up and finally I have my computer back up running. I highly recommend buying new. I also took our the 3 year warranty.

REALLY REALLY OLD TECHNOLOGY
It connects, but really old technology is used. Signal reach is poor at best. Setup was easy and I’m a little old lady that could do it! If you have a choice, spend a bit more and get a bit newer technology. Of course the service I use in my price range only offers snail paced internet. Put the two together, it makes you want to use your 5G hotspot in your phone for better connection when you get the dreaded loading spinning circle or the need for a faster connection is imperative.

Great savings, small issue, satisfied
I didn’t require tech support, so I don’t know how that would be. The only problem is the power cord, which if jostled at all, will lose power. I think it is a replacement cord. It WORKS but can be a bit annoying, for example when turning the router/modem to see the password on the back, it will power off. For the huge savings on this item, it is an acceptable issue for me.

Solve a problem for a senior citizen.
I have a client that lives in area that is virtually a black hole vis-a-vis Internet Service providers. The only thing available is DSL or satellite. And, her DSL provider is totally our of working DSL modems including used. So, I bought this Century Link modem and it installed itself and just works. Client even gave me a designer chocolate bar. Worth the trip just for that!

great used equipment but experienced a nightmare installing it
Century Link online chat technical support made installing this equipment a nightmare. Never install a modem/router using the Century Link online chat feature. Within a few hours of using that service, and not getting help from them, we were hacked and email bombed. I have never experienced internet fraud before, or since. These overseas tech support contractors are sophisticated online fraud operations. Wait until normal daytime hours for technical support, and only use the technical service reached by phone from Century Link, and only if you absolutely need to. This unit was sold as used, but was in an open box new condition. I was unaware that the default settings needed to install the unit had been changed. Dozens of attempts by technical support to reset the default settings remotely failed. It would not work until it was manually reset by depressing the reset button on the back of the unit. The real nightmare began when we started getting email bombed with thousands of spam emails in a matter of hours. We quickly learned that email bombing occurs in order to obscure real email messages warning you of purchases made to your online account with a vendor (Amazon). It took days to repair the damage that the hackers caused, even though we stopped their fraudulent purchases within minutes of being placed. The hackers didn't have time to change our account login password before we caught them.
