I was thrown at first by the sound quality on these. My experience off the bat, using these with a desktop PC, was that it felt very muffled, like everything I heard was recorded in a room padded wall to wall in thick carpet. I did find two things that helped considerably, however, and with all those settled, I've ended up quite fond of this headset actually! #1: It comes with a free license for Dolby Atmos software, which seems to do some equalization and 7.1 sound simulation for audio on one's computer. I highly recommend taking advantage of this. This software can be bought standalone but it's not needed if used with just these headphones, and the sound quality subjectively seemed to improve considerably once set to the Movie or Music presets. #2: A gimmick feature also available is the "Sound ID" equalizer you can set up in Corsair iCue. You may want to set up Atmos first so it's factored into what you hear. This basically administers a hearing test of sorts for further refining the sound. I was a little more undecided on this but after a lot of comparison I did ultimately like it just a little more with this enabled. And with both of those set up, the sound quality was vastly better than out of the box. The battery life is impressive. I use these all day and still only have to recharge every few days of use (even with the silly lighting effects that you can't see while wearing them turned on), which doesn't take much time at all. They also connect via a small WiFi dongle that than bluetooth. This easily reaches the advertised range, even through walls, and in my experience even had better range than the proprietary "Slipstream" dongle used for the regular non-Max HS80, which struggled to reach an adjacent room. They're comfortable for me now that the initial acclimation and breaking-in period is done with, but the strap really only lets you clumsily adjust how high they sit on the ears. One big caveat: I use a large standalone microphone for recording audio, so I have not used the mic on the headset consistently. I have heard, secondhand, some reports that it's not as good as the microphone on the regular HS80 model. It's definitely lower quality than a standalone mic by a long shot, so the usability of that is something you may want to consider, although it's at least intelligible. In general though, for pure wireless audio not dependent on Bluetooth and some of the nightmare scenarios managing that can be in Windows 11, I'm really quite happy with it. Update: By way of warning, however, the cloth over the earphone padding on the left earphone has begun to peel away at less than one year of ownership, which isn't great. I'm annoyed this is necessary, but fortunately the pads do twist off fairly easily (twist the top part toward the back, relative to the way they're normally worn) and can be replaced with official replacements for about $20, or aftermarket alternatives for around $25.

Bought 3 earcups to test them out against the stock one for the Corsair HS80 Max. Recommend watching the video since that will give you a good idea of what these look/feel like in your hands. But warning, I have used only the stock earcups for a prolonged gaming session. The rest of the cups are based on initial perception. I have a round but oblong head. This IS important for glasses-wearers, as explained later. For fitment, note if they compress on the top of your ears where your glasses sit. If you don't have glasses, then fitment is less important, and more about the headset clamping itself. Footstep audio baseline used from some Apex Legends Yotube video audio test "footstep at 0:04". I replayed the beginning ti second 0:07 to see if I can hear the footstep, how loud it was, and how clear it was. This is with Dolby Access and Sound ID tuned to my liking. Audio equalization was not changed for any of the earcups. The stock earcups are used as a baseline. [STOCK] Material: pelt, coarse fabric Foam type: low density foam Glasses scratchiness: loud, annoying Personal fitment: tight on top Noise blockage: ~50% Notes: The headset likes to apply pressure to the top of my head. The glasses are forced into my skin, feeling a tiny slight pain after 5 seconds of having them on. But this does not hinder long sessions, had these on for 6+ hours, no problem. Footstep audio is used as a baseline for this headset, so no marks. Fabric looks ugly, and is annoying. But zero felt sweat in 68°F temp. Foam is a hair off from reforming immediately. [WC FREEZE] Price: $24.95 Material: leather outside, hex fabric face side Foam type: medium density Glasses scratchiness: light, normal Personal fitment: too tight on top Noise blockage: ~80% on perfect seal Notes: Build quality seems the best on these. However, they don't properly seal on my head, leaving the slightest gap at bottom. This is probably due to how thick these things are. Keep in mind these are the thickest of the bunch, like, too thick. Due to the heavy rigidity, I don't think these will *properly* fit most heads. But this helps heavily with blocking out background sound, despite improper seal. I found in my audio test video for footsteps I had to turn up the volume by 10-20% to hear what I was listening for. Not like that is a problem, since each headset has different normal volume levels. In reality, you will never notice it unless you looked for it. This volume difference is probably due to the lack of seal on my head, or how much farther your ears actually are to the drivers. Foam almost immediately reforms after squishing. Not quite "memory foam", but still good quality medium density foam. [Soulwit] Price: $17.95 Material: leather outside, high thread fabric face side Foam type: low density Glasses scratchiness: light, normal Personal fitment: even Noise blockage: ~55% Notes: Good build quality. These are the thinnest of the bunch. Too me, is a good comparison to the stock Epos H6pro which is where I came from. Light cups with some sound passthrough. With glasses, these gave no initial discomfort. Footstep audio was about on par with stock earcups. Foam immediately reforms after pressing. Not memory foam in the slightest. Just a nice piece of normal foam. SIDENOTE: These also came with a dropper so you can put single water droplets to "cool the foam". Don't think this is necessary, since the material touching your skin is still fabric. Still nice to have I suppose. [Chinesium Offbrand "Thicker Upgrade Quality Earpads"] Price: $17.99 Material: hex fabric Foam type: memory foam Glasses scratchiness: medium, loud Personal fitment: almost even, good Noise blockage: ~75%Notes: These will prolly make you sweat the most due to how dense the foam is to trap the heat, but the fabric material is airy. The build quality honestly isn't bad. If you prefer a little mush to your head, don't like the sweat on outside leather, and don't wear glasses, I'd say these are better than the WC if you're worried about fitment and noise blockage. Just keep in mind it is bulky. On the head, it squishes easily making your ears closer to the drivers naturally. Foam is legitimately memory foam you are used to. Yet it feels like not much foam was used at all, as it really doesn't fill the space inside the fabric. [PERSONAL PICK] When I look for headphones, I like open backs, something with a good stock microphone, and angular design. The reason I chose this closed back headset was because it just looked so good, and doubled down on mic performance like the H6pros. The H6pros are a gold standard, as they have a great mic, amazing sound, open and closed designs, and replaceable cables and mic pieces. This headset is slightly worse, but all wireless headsets are. That is the trade off. Coming from open backs, I like background noice so I can hear my voice more naturally. And due to the fitment and feel with my glasses, the Soulwit takes the cake. These being the slimmest and lightest of them, it's no-brainer. And somehow even with the performance, fit, and style, these manage to be the cheapest for me. Second only to what came with the headset. If I were to pick something to block outside sound fully, it really is a gamble between the WC and the offbrand earcup. At that point, it comes down to whether or not you have glasses. The WC have tightness near the top, but are quiet with glasses. The offbrand cups have great even fitment, but are scratchy, almost as bad as the stock fabric. This is why I would just double down on Soulwit for glasses users. The noise blockage is still a little better than the stock earcups, and you get the best of both worlds feel wise. [CLOSING] If I were you, I would just buy all three like I did and try them to see what you like. Then return the other pairs to Amazon for free and get your refund.

Alright, so let me start with this. The battery life is no joke. These things, even with the RGB logo lit, have a battery that is insane. My history with headphones has been rough. Idk why but it is extremely hard for me to find good headphones. I'm not exactly pinching the pennies either. I previously swapped from Razer, due to issues it caused with my pc anytime an update popped up, to Corsair. My friend recommended the RGB Void Elite wireless. They were good for about a year and a half when they started to die, but the battery was miserable. I'm an avid gamer and fresh off the charge I would have to plug in at least once and sometimes twice a day. That is definitely not an issue now. I went to my local Walmart in hopes of replacing them but instead found the HS55. It was the only thing they had in stock, so I got them. Nice fit. Light weight. Simple. Boasts a longer battery life, up to 24 hours, from the up to 16 hours the Void Elite claimed. They were fine for a day or 2 when suddenly my mic got super loud and staticy for no known reason. I managed to fix it with a forced update through the ICue software, but it was temporary. It happened again. And again. Thinking, hoping, it was just a bad pair, I returned the headset and got a replacement of the same model. Well, it wasn't a bad pair. Unless I managed to find 2 bad pairs. Either way, something wasn't working right and the same exact problem popped up with less than 5 minutes being the shortest period between incidents. The failure of the HS55 sets and the short battery, and life, of my RGB Void elite nearly sent me packing in search of another brand. Deciding to give Corsair one more chance, I took to Amazon to expand my search. The HS80 costs quite a bit more than I intended to spend and I was extremely on the fence after the HS55 issue. I'm much more inclined to spend money in a store on something like this because it is much easier and faster to bring it back to a store than to package and return through a shipping company. I decided to give it a hail mary shot and made the order. First, let me say, after 2 weeks of heavy usage, not one mic failure. My friends report that it is clean and clear and even better than the RGB Void Elite. After the initial charge I started them up. It took almost an entire week of gaming and video streaming before the first alert of the battery being low. That is insane. Like did Corsair stuff a tiny nuclear facility in these or something? Bro, that's using the dongle that came with the set. They are advertised as having a faaaar longer battery if using bluetooth. I'm excited to say that I have the stuff on order to set up Bluetooth in my pc, so we will see! Now, with all that praise, I have one single issue. That is the mic feedback. My one complaint is that even with the mic feedback set to max, i can barely, if at all, hear my own voice. It's not a major issue, but some gamers really like to hear themselves to help judge how loud they are speaking. If I press the mic to my lips I can hear it fine, but the mic is somewhat stiff and doesn't allow for that kind of manipulation. Other than that, this headset, the HS80, has restored my faith in the Corsair brand and left me a really happy customer.

I’ve been using this headset for a couple of weeks now and honestly I’m really happy with it. The sound quality is great right out of the box, and with Dolby Atmos it feels way more immersive, especially in games. The wireless connection has been super stable for me, no noticeable lag or random disconnects. I also like that it has both 2.4GHz and Bluetooth, makes it easy to switch between my PC and phone. Comfort-wise, it’s been solid. I can wear it for a few hours without any issues, which wasn’t the case with my previous headset. Battery life has also been good so far, I don’t feel like I’m constantly charging it. The mic is decent too, nothing crazy but clear enough for Discord and in-game chat. Overall, it just works well and feels like a good upgrade. No regrets buying it

Being wireless, I expected a fairly decreased audio quality compared to good wired headphones, but the sound is amazing. I was raised as an audiophile, by an audiophile, so I really appreciate good speakers, and this headset does not disappoint. It’s the most comfortable set of over-ear headphones I’ve ever worn, the microphone and speaker quality are both phenomenal, and the controls are incredibly intuitive. The battery life lasts forever, and the headset can seamlessly switch between bluetooth (connected to calls and such on my iPhone) and the other wireless mode (connected to my PC for gaming and game development. The value for money is incredible, and I would absolutely suggest these to anyone looking for a stylish, comfortable, and otherwise phenomenal headset. Note: there is no noise cancellation. This wasn’t a problem for me, but it may be for others, so keep that in mind.

I am 100% corsair peripherals (mouse, keyboard, mouse pad, RGB, fans, headsets, etc). So trust me when I say that it is irregular for me to leave a negative review on a corsair product. I have rocked the Void pro wireless headset for the last several years, and while I have generally loved the sound quality and comfort of it, I've never liked the extremely loose fit of the headset (will fall off your head with a hard shake of the head or leaning over even at a 45 degree angle), and was starting to get some connectivity problems and padding wearing out, so decided it was time for an upgrade. I went back and forth between the HS80 max and the virtuoso XT as they were around the same price point at the time with discounts, but online reviews/reddit led me to choose the HS80 Max. Upon first use, I was shocked at how fit/snug the headset was. These certainly were not going to fall off my head by shaking/leaning over. And corsair highly touts the elastic strap for comfortability, but what they leave out is the headsets biggest flaw in my opinion....there are NO adjustments whatsoever for this headset to expand the size for larger heads. If your head is the size of the outer band you're just SOL, and negates the point of the elastic band altogether. The reason this headset was so uncomfortably snug on my head is because there's no way to expand it for larger heads. I cannot believe they did not have an adjustable outer band for this headset. I also found the mesh around the ears to be abrasive and cause irritation on my head, but it might've been because it was such a tight fit. Furthermore, I was very disappointed in the sound quality of this headset. I used the dolby atmos and sound ID option. Perhaps I am just so used to 7.1 surround in my gaming headsets for many years I just wasn't used to atmos, but I use dolby atmos for my surround sound on my home theater system, and when playing video games with this headset the sound was.....very bland/lackluster. You can hear sounds coming from the sides/back, but nowhere near the quality of the 7.1 sound on the void pro headset in my opinion. Very disappointing. I returned the headset, and am trying to decide whether to give the virtuoso series a try, but for the first time in my gaming career I have hesitancy in choosing corsair for my PC gaming peripherals. If you're in the same boat as me, I would exercise caution with this set.

the good: headset sounds amazing. in love with the sound quality and profile. super high quality. better quality than the normal wired HS80. seriously a great sounding headset. the bad: i had the new Void and had to constantly replug the adapter to either get my mic to work again or to get the headset entirely to work again. audio and voice. so i returned that and got this headset. the HS80 max works WAY more consistently than the Void. the Void was actually unbearable for me. felt like every 10 minutes the mic would stop or everything would stop until i unplug and replug the adapter in. but this headset still has the same issue. just WAY less often. i’m not sure if this is because of the headset or my pc. i’m getting a new pc in a few days so i’ll update if the issue stops. if the headset is used by streamers like Pestily, there’s no way its actually this unreliable. hope my new pc makes it flawless. i use other wireless devices and never have any issues. only with corsair headsets.

For mac users: Half the software features don't work on mac but most specifically the doly atoms sound processing. Doing a deep dive down the path of making atoms to work revealed that these headphone are single driver headphones. So its just doly atmos processing on a single speaker driver.. The headset has a cool feature that lets it connect to your computer and phone bluetooth at the same time so it can switch between quickly when you get a call. It woks 90%, the remaining 10% it get confused, glitches out with no audio at all. You have to reboot it to get audio back and it takes so much longer than normal turn off time. Total crisis when it happens while gaming. Another thing, i'm arms length from the USB dongle and i get signal drop with the red blinking likes a few times a day. (cut out 3 times typing this). Could be channel interferance but i couldn't find where they publish what channel they are on or the ability to change it. Oddly when its good i can talk downstairs with no signal loss. its just random. Sound quality is good enough for video games. Yes checked firmware updates, all eq setting and their ID EQ tech which is pretty cool. Downside to ID EQ is i can't modify the sound at all after it does its test wizard. I know its setting a eq but i want to be able to feather it from there. I wished this set worked better for me. End game software and speaker driver selection is was keeping this from being an amazing set and forcing it to be the frustrating set I own. I hope firmware updates are coming.

Very high quality sound and build quality. The icue softwares sound ID fine tunes the sound even further making them sound incredible. They are heavy but very comfortable even after long periods. The battery lasts a long time and recharges quickly, I've never had a problem with the battery. I can't comment on the mic as I've never used it but if its as good as both the build and sound then the mic will be awesome too. If thus set gets stolen then I'm buying another HS80 Max straight away. 10/10.

Ottima qualità del suono, poca insonorizzazione ma preferisco così ed un microfono che fa il suo dovere. La portata della confezione wireless è notevole e la batteria ha un ottima durata, in più impiega poco tempo per caricarsi. Le cuffie risultano molto leggere e comode. Unico tasto dolente è il cavo in dotazione, non funziona e sospetto che sia perché hanno riciclato cavi Micro-usb adatti ad USB-C poiché presentano una testina insolitamente lunga ma questo non è un problema poiché si può utilizzare qualsiasi altro cavetto per la ricarica.

I have read all those reviews online, but so glad I ignored the negative ones. The sound quality is just amazing after setting up your own soundID in the iCue software. Never even once disconnected from my PC. Totally worth it! Mic quality and build quality also superb!
