Well constructed, responsive plane. Not the most necessary tool ever made, chamfering is fairly simple to accomplish without any special tools, but having the tool is always better than not having the tool. The one massive benefit to this is in the general amount of safety provided around the blade. You would have to put some effort into getting cut with this plane compared to other styles and this is absolutely excellent in regards to getting my 5 and 7 year old kids using hand tools. Its not an overly massive chunk of hard to handle steel that offers up cut fingers just from picking it up wrong. They will both be able to handle this safely and get it to work well as a result. This was not the reason I bought it, but after holding it I realized how well it will suit this task. Ill surely use it as well, it does work quite nicely and its bright orange. Easy to spot tools always have a decent chance of being used frequently when other things become invisible for some reason in the shop. Out of the box the blades are good and sharp. We all know that nothing is ever sharp enough and the first thing you will do is take the blades to stone no matter how much it cost or how well it cuts. Its okay, we all do it. But, in the mean time they cut clean and smooth. The unit is machined well and the adjustment wheel is smooth and responsive. It fits comfortably in the hand both as a push and a pull plane. The grooving is smooth and even, so it cuts a symmetrical chamfer. Its bright orange. I like it. Sure is better looking than gross yellow. Blades store on board. Good product, good price.

I own a number of Jorgensen products and have been happy with the quality of the items. When this chamfer plane arrived, it was missing the 3/16" cutter (poor QC). Rather than returning it, I decided to contact Pony (via their web site) and see if they could just ship me the cutter. After three days of crickets, I escalated the case (via the web site). It's been a week and the only contact was an automated email on there first day stating that they're woking on it. It's not working well for me - totally disappointed in their service. UPDATE: Took a while, but Customer Service came through. They contacted me asking for more info. Two days later, an entire replacement unit arrived in my mailbox. All I requested was a replacement cutter. GOOD JOB!!

Directions could have been more helpful I.e., what to use on and specifically how tos ( how mush pressure yo apply etc)

Nice little hand planer

Just used this to round over the corners of the legs on a coffee table I am building. It is easy to set up and make gradual adjustments to. The blades are sharp out of the box and it is built to last. Great product

It is relatively inexpensive, but I still don’t understand why anyone would give this tool more than 2 stars. If you have used quality hand tools before you will recognize that this plane is not well made. The blade is not held tightly enough and there is no way to adjust or fix that. As a result you cannot sufficiently control the depth of cut so the tool chatters, the blade shifts, and you end up with a poor cut or tear out. Even if it did work better, this is one of those gadget tools that is really unnecessary. A good quality small block plane and/or a sanding block will get the job done just as easily and with a better finish.

Zastanawiam się czy na polski rynek nie trafiają produkty o obniżonej jakości. Po.wadliwych szybkościskach teraz mocno niedopracowany strug. Tylko fabrycznie włożone ostrze ma właściwy wymiar. Wszystkie pozostale nie mieszczą się w prowadnicy. Konieczne było przeszlifowanie boków na papierze ściernym. A funkcjonalnie wygrawerowana miara na ostrzach jest absolutnie niewidoczna więc ustawiać trzeba doświadczalne. Ale kolor obudowy ma ładny. Szkoda, że to nie on "robi robotę".

Funktioniert super! Messer sind ausreichend scharf um ordentliche Locken runter zu hobeln. Habe hauptsächlich das 1/4 Messer genutzt um die Kante an meiner Tischplatte zu brechen. Kleiner Tipp an die Helden die ihren Tisch zerstört haben: Wenn man schon ein Hobby Produkt kauft dann sollte man das Teil auch dementsprechend benutzen. Klein anfangen und die Klinge nach jedem Durchgang stück für stück weiter raus drehen und schon reißt man sich auch nicht die halbe Platte auf...
