A great battery charger.
This Upgraded EBL battery charger is a big improvement on its previous model, (and that was a good charger), as it can charge both NiMH, and NiCD batteries, and has incorporated within the charger 2 USB A ports for additional device charging. Straightforward to use, and a very lightweight but efficient battery charger, this charger charges the rechargeable batteries in pretty quick time. The size of this charger is large enough to charge either 8 x AAA or 8 x AA batteries, or a combination of both, and you don't need to charge them in pairs, as you can charge a single battery at a time. Instead of the USB C type port for its mains power, this upgraded charger comes complete with a 240v standard 3 pin plug, and has a connector which resembles a portable radio's mains connector plug which just pushes into the top of the battery charger. All in all, a worthwhile charger for charging multi batteries without having to charge a maximum of 4 at a time, as some other types of chargers have.

Amazing Battery charger
I always used to buy regular batteries but after switching to this it is a lifesaver. I have a lot of lights in my home which work on batteries and this just saved me from throwing a lot of batteries to waste. Pros: 1. Charges battery fast, as 2 batteries will charge in 30 minutes or so 2. Got 2 USB ports which come in handy when charging things like AirPods, a rechargeable lint remover, etc which come with just a USB cable 3. Budget-friendly 4. Easy to use 5. Supports both AA and AAA batteries 6. No need for batteries to be kept in an order or combination, convenient 7. No issues if you keep the battery in charger after it is charged, tension-free Cons: 1. Charging many batteries at once will make it slow. Example: Charging 10 batteries at once could take approximately 3 hours to complete Tip: If you have multiple lights with batteries, then instead of charging them together do them separately so it takes only 30 minutes to charge. Keep maybe 2 to 3 batteries extra so you don't have to wait for the batteries to get charged.

Well-designed charger, high capacity batteries
This is a solid product, really well packaged. The charger takes up minimal space on my desk and doesn't look bad either. I love that it automatically stops charging when the batteries are full so you don't have to worry about being there at the exact moment to switch it off. A big improvement on my previous charger. I got the set with 8x 2800mAh AA batteries. That's an extraordinary capacity for AA batteries! They certainly seem to last longer than regular batteries, but I'm still in the initial charge/discharge cycles so they haven't settled yet. So far it's taken quite a bit longer than the stated six hours to fully charge them. My one hesitation about buying this product was a review saying that the batteries are larger than standard AA. Measuring with calipers, they're 50.25 x 14.27mm, compared with 50.24 x 13.99mmm for an Energizer AA - so 0.28mm in it. I've included a photo with the EBL next to a couple of other common AA batteries for comparison. I've not had any trouble with the fractionally larger size, but if regular batteries are already tight in your equipment then that extra quarter of a millimetre might be a problem. The USB sockets on the charger are a nice idea, but it's a bit frustrating that they both deliver 1.55A. That's not enough to fast charge a smartphone. (It's the difference between a 3hr charge and a 1.5hr charge for my Galaxy S9.) It would have been more helpful to have e.g. the typical split of one USB at 1A and one at 2.1A. I'm happy with the purchase at the moment, but in the end the value will be judged by how many years the batteries last. I'll update this review if/when any of them die.

Works exactly as expected
This is an excellent product which works really well. It is simple to use and charges the 8 batteries fully and quickly. The LED lights show orange for charging and green for fully charged, and that's it. Although the batteries have to be charged in pairs, it will charge either 2, 4. 6 or 8 at a time. Not being able to charge a single battery is not a problem for me as I use 8 batteries at a time in a camera trap. The two USB ports also work well, I've charged an iPad, GPS unit, GoPro batteries and a mobile phone without any difficulty. One tiny quibble - the + positive signs on the casing are so small that, at the age of 78, I find it difficult to read them โ this is likely my problem rather than the product's. Would I buy it again? Yes!

Great value
Great value. Love the fact I can charge just one battery. When more than one is charging the lights tell you which ones are ready and which ones are still charging. When I got this set it was just a couple of pounds dearer than the batteries alone, so a great perchase.

Excellent charger
Very happy with this charger. Bought to replace a much older one that's now showing 'error' warnings, this is quick to charge and handles AA and AAA batteries equally well. The tray holds onto the batteries without them slipping out and you can put either size of battery in each bay, so you can charge a mixture at the same time. The indicator lights work fine and the device doesn't get too hot whilst in use.

Comes with nicely packed batteries in reusable cases holding 4 batteries each
We bought 2 chargers with 8 battery each, plus 16 separate batteries to cut down on battery waste from our house. We have 6 Xbox controllers that seem to consume about 30 throw away batteries every month. Lets hope this helps, but it all depends on the kids bothering to charge up the dead ones. Reasonably small form factor battery charger. Doesn't get too hot during operation. Neat 2 pin mains socket on the side. Comes complete with mains cable fitted with UK 13A plug. Shame it doesn't have any way to wall mount. Batteries fit snugly into the charger and don't fall out even if the charger is inverted. The first charge took around 12 hours, so the batteries must have been part charged on delivery. The instructions say max output to batteries is 720mA, so to charge 8x 2800mAh batteries it will take at least 31 hours. *UPDATE* yes it does take a long time to charge up 8 dead batteries, but on the bright side they are not charged quickly so their life will be extended. This is definitely not a fast charger! The batteries seem to be of good build quality, and are quite heavy, indicating that they could indeed be high capacity. I will test this and update the review. Charger instructions say it will charge Ni-MH and Ni-CD batteries. Input Voltage 100-240V AC 0.4Amax 50Hz/60Hz. They also state Battery charging rate >= 80% ( I think this means that 80% of the power consumed by the charger goes into the battery but I could be wrong!) When the initial charging cycle is started the LED's above each pair of batteries goes orange. Towards the end of the cycle you see a yellowy green LED, and then when fully charged this goes to green. You have to charge batteries in pairs. *UPDATE* since purchasing the 2x chargers and 32x batteries i have bought another 16 batteries to cover us for Xmas. They are all working well, and the only problem is the qty we seem to loose!
