Solid build, quality sound
This AGPTEK MP3 Player is a gorgeous device! It is well-designed with fully functional and easily accessible buttons and ports. The screen quality is above average; the images and text are clear and easy to read. The sound quality while listening to music and audiobooks was impressive for a budget MP3 player. I was especially surprised by the clarity of the built-in speaker. Connecting the player to an external speaker via Bluetooth was simple and stable. I created several music/audiobook folders on my PC and added them to my MicroSD card. This player is said to support ‘up to 128GB card’, however, my 512GB card worked perfectly! Even though I prefer a physical user interface (click wheel) design, this MP3 player would be a suitable alternative to a high-end model.

AGPtek A52PL MP3 Player Review
Summary - looks and feels nice, audio quality is average, 64+ hours of battery life, controls and menu system are problematic. I'm mainly using it for playing music FLAC's in shuffle mode, just have to turn it on and it plays, perfect ! (Auto plays if it was playing when previously turned off). However, for anything else it can be a pain to use the menu's and controls. Connect to a PC and it's recognised as an external FAT32 drive, copying files is very slow as the transfer rate is only about 3mb/s. Audio quality is average and what you would expect from a cheap player. The bundled earphones are very poor and not worth using. FM radio works surprisingly well but doesn't display station names or any RDS info. Battery life is excellent, used it to break in new headphones, at 30% volume it lasted about 64 hours of continuous use (with screen off, wired 32ohm headphones). Other reviews have commented on the folder/file/album/artist names that get truncated and music file names that get displayed instead of tag info. This is still an issue and can be quite annoying. I had a quick look at the OS files and found that Music.lib contains a database of file/album/artist names. It uses fixed length fields of 56 characters for file names and 28 for album/artist names. For names with Unicode characters the length is effectively halved due to extra encoding. This is why long names get truncated - the fields aren't big nough to hold them ! I'm happy enough with it as i bought it at the sale price of £ 30. It does the job for a cheap player but could be so much better if the issues were fixed, controls improved, buttons made bigger etc.

Great sound quality plus excellent battery life
Superb mp3 player at a low cost. Got this in the deals and was discounted. Looks just like an iPod classic and is well made of metal. The sound quality is crystal clear and the user interface is clear and easy to use. I have 5 iPods but Id prefer this over the iPod for the price it's a great little player 👍

I feel cheated, poor performance in all areas
There's not many things that I instantly don't like but this is the exception....I hate it. I'm sure the bodywork is good, it's got a fair weight to it and the metal edge is nice, but that's where the good things end It's got very dated firmware where searching for tracks in folders is near impossible. Yes, there's a 'folder' option on the main screen but it doesn't understand a-z organisation (it's Chinese and they always suffer from the English alphabet organisation), which means folders numbered 01, 02 through to 099 plus normally written titles come up with A's first then 01, 10, 11,12 etc, then numbers in order up to 7's then letters followed by the 8's and other numbers. It doesn't get much better when playing a folder. I have mostly audio books and it plays all the 1's first, bypassing 2, 3, 4 etc, (it ignores a 0 at the start) so long books are played well out of orders. Buttons are very poor. The touch buttons on the front either don't recognise the input or apply multiple inputs, which is very annoying. Would love to review the speaker as others reviewed it as tinny and quiet, but it doesn't work. I found an option in the settings to turn it on and off, but neither get it to work. There's a pair of earphones in the pack, but I have Monster ones, but sound comes out 'poppy' like it's an old fashioned player, but swapping to a Sony MP3 (that keeps crashing, hence buying a new player) it sounds much better - so it's the player performance rather than the headphones. I can't comment on battery life as I haven't used it for long and I used a micro SD card so never connected it a laptop to transfer files. So, if you want to poorly listen to music that's not organised correctly and plays out of order with an interface that may or may not recognise your finger, then this is for you. If not, but anything else.

Decent for the price
It's OK. Works well enough and feels well made. A bit heavy but not overly so. Connects to Bluetooth devices quite easily but will not connect to my HONOR X8 tablet for some reason. It has a good battery life even if the volume is up quite high. The only real negative for me is all the albums I loaded onto it the songs are completely out of order and it seems there is no way to arrange them in the correct order. I tried renaming the files numerically like 01,02,03 ect ect to no avail. Very frustrating when you have albums that are intended to be played in a specific order. If Agptek could do something about this with future devices it would be greatly appreciated. Also please make a screen saver for this device. I've looked everywhere but can't find one for it. Thanks.

Doesnt display full song names
Doesnt display full song names, and also seems to refuse to play album tracks in order. Controls look cool, but very fiddly. Why there is a button to change the wallpaper, I don't know.... None of the video files I put on it would play (mp4 and amv files), just got "format error". It has many functions, but doesn't do any of them well. Feels like quality but too frustrating to use. Better to get a used iPod.

Nice little player but poor attention to detail.
Executive summary: capable player but not a replacement for iPod or Sony Walkman. Pros: * Plays mp3, aac and FLAC. FLAC playback is almost gapless. * Clean and responsive interface. * Onboard amplifier capable to drive over-ear headphones such as Sennheiser HD 25-SP (60 Ohms) * Playback order. Customers are complaining about this but it can play tracks in correct order. 1. the default playback mode is Shuffle: switch to "Play in order". 2. Track number tags are not used, filename alphabetical order is used: prefix your files with 01, 02, 03, etc. * Good battery life. Auto switch off when on pause or at the end of playlist / end of album. Cons or quirks: * The 3.5mm socket is recessed. Large diameter plugs can't be fully inserted. You will need an adapter cable to plug Sennheiser, AKG, or amplifier extension leads. * Bluetooth: hit and miss. Yes with JBL headphones and mini-speaker. No with Hama Twin and Roberts S1 * Write speed to internal flash memory is approx 2.6 MB/s. Around 90 secs for a FLAC album. * Album display: displays Filename and Album. Doesn't seem to read tags for Track Title, Artist and track number. * Artwork: artwork is scaled without respect for the aspect-ratio.

Bueno
