A beautiful, practical deck that checks all the boxes for me
A beautiful, practical deck that checks all the boxes for me As a professional tarot reader, I’m pretty particular about the decks I use, especially when I’m reading for clients. I want artwork that is colorful, rich in symbolism, and easy for someone who isn’t a professional reader to look at and intuitively understand. That way, when a client takes a picture of their reading home with them, the images themselves can help them remember and connect with what came through in the reading. The Sacred Witch Tarot really checks those boxes for me. The artwork is beautiful and very easy to connect with while still having plenty of symbolism to work with. It has that familiar Rider-Waite-Smith feel that makes the cards accessible, but the artwork gives the deck its own personality. I’m also very particular about card quality. I like cards that have enough substance to them that I can poker shuffle without worrying about bending or damaging them. These have a nice, substantial feel, and the matte finish is a big plus for me. They don’t have that overly slick, shiny finish that makes cards slide all over the place. Another thing I appreciate is that the imagery stays tasteful. I don’t want nudity or distracting, inappropriate imagery in a deck that I’m using professionally with clients, and this deck strikes a really nice balance. And finally, the price is reasonable. I don’t want to spend a fortune on a tarot deck, particularly when I may recommend a deck to a client who is just beginning to learn tarot. This is affordable enough that someone who enjoys working with it in a professional reading could also realistically purchase one for themselves and start practicing. For me, this is the combination I’m looking for: beautiful artwork, recognizable symbolism, good-quality cards, easy shuffling, professional imagery, and a reasonable price. I’m really enjoying this deck and would absolutely recommend it to both beginning and experienced tarot readers.

It's a gorgeous deck! I love it!
The cards: It is high quality card stock, the size is just exactly not too big for my small hands to be able to shuffle the deck, but it's still a stretch for my fingers. The matte finish is very nicely done. As you can see in the photo, it still has some shine in the lighting. It is the perfect card stock, it strikes the ideal balance between flexibility and stiffness. The artwork: I find the artwork very engaging and great for intuitive reading along with traditional tarot interpretation. The artwork feels to me to have a similarity to the art style of Chris-Anne's work with her famed Light Seers Tarot. But the pictures are different and distinct from her work. It is obvious that the creators of the Wild Reflections deck were inspired and influenced by the work of Chris-Anne and they are fans of her. I have included a picture showing a comparison of cards from both decks to give you an understanding of why I feel they were inspired by Chris-Anne's work. (Note: I included the 4 of Swords of Light Seers Tarot with The World of Wild Reflections Tarot because while the art aesthetic is different, I feel the poses of the women and the general feel of the images are very similar.) The Pentacles suite is represented by sunflowers. The Cups suite uses seashells. The Swords suite is represented with arrows. Wands are still represented with staffs, with the notable exception of the Ace of Wands which features a bonsai tree. I very much appreciate the beautiful diversity of the people represented in these cards. I like the modern aesthetic that brings the classic Rider-Waite-Colman deck into the twenty-first century. The images are gorgeous and I find myself pausing often to admire the art during readings. My favorite card is The Hierophant, it's the card that made me seek out and purchase this deck.

Beautiful deck, easy to connect with
I initially started learning to read tarot cards using the traditional Rider-Waite-Smith tarot deck, memorizing the meanings for the images and symbols. I wanted to learn to interpret the cards more intuitively though, so I purchased this deck. The images are beautifully drawn, featuring diverse characters in contemporary settings: hiking in the woods, riding a bike, doing yoga, dancing on the beach. But they also have a mystical look to them, with flecks of light giving the scenes a magical sparkle. There's still a connection to the general RWS themes - i.e. the Ten of Cups still features a "happy family," but here the mom is wearing jeans, and the young son is wearing a striped shirt holding a ball. The Five of Pentacles shows a man "out in the cold" walking through snow, passing by a warm, inviting cabin in the woods. On the cards, pentacles are represented by sunflowers, cups by seashells, swords by arrows, and wands by decorated poles. I found it easy to connect with the vivid images on this deck - it was easier for me to intuitively understanding the messages. Overall, a great deck! The hand-drawn artwork is stunning, the colors rich and deep, and the matte finish card stock feels good and shuffles smoothly. The edges of the cards have a gilded gold finish. The cards come in a sturdy heavy cardboard storage box with lid. Very happy with this purchase. This will be one of my favorite go-to decks!

Great deck for anyone wanting to use the Tarot.
Getting back into using the tarot again. Tried these since I've never had a deck with images that were more aligned with the Rider-Waite deck. While I am feeling a connection to the deck, I find the coloring to be dark and harder to see unless I'm bright light. They definitely need the contrast turned up. Apart from that I've issue, I have nothing but praise for this deck. It had good imagery and style. While they don't follow the Raider-Waite deck images exactly, they follow the spirit and meaning. The cards are thick. I did find that in shuffling them they can get occasional nicks on the sides, prob expected since I don't shuffle them like playing cards as I don't want them bent. They have a smooth matte finish and are easy to handle. They come in a nice box to store in and help them last. The best bonus in this box set is the little guide book they included. It covers what the basic suits mean, meaning of generic numbers, and the meaning of specific numbers in each suit, the court (page, knight, queen and king) and the major arcana. Each of the cards gets a full page description and meaning, as well as including a dedicated page for inverse meanings. They also include many of the common lay outs and the description of each position. This a budget friendly deck but it includes so much more than you'd find in the more expensive decks. I also purchased another deck that was a bit more expensive but it's this once that I have a connection with. I can recommend this deck to beginners and the more experienced.

Beautiful Deck of Cards
This deck of cards is absolutely beautiful and hands down, my favorite deck I own so far. From the art work to the matte sheen finish, I give 5 stars and a recommend as a must have deck to own. The feeling these cards presented when I opened the deck gave me a smile. The cards have a gold filter edge and the cardstock is strong, seems waterproof and pliable. It comes with a small guide book that provides reversal meanings.

Fantastic amount of symbolism
Let me start by saying the quality of these cards is nice. They have a good balance between shufflability and sturdiness. They have a linen like finish so they aren’t too slippery. I could see this deck lasting a while with regular use. I am not sure how I feel about the artwork itself. This is just a personal preference. The subject matter and symbolism is perfect. The drawings themselves could be better. They are over shaded, which leads to a muddy look. It’s like I wish I could raise the brightness on the cards. Despite that, I feel like I will end up using this deck quite a bit. The more I flip through it, the more I appreciate it.

Great deck! Beautiful imagery.
Absolutely love the imagery of this deck. It's inclusive and diverse. Some of the images are unique but still mostly follow the Rider Waite style of tarot. The imagery resonates well with me. It's one of the few decks that I've connected to right away. Most decks I purchase have to grow on me. Thick cardstock. I've been shuffling these cards at least 25 times daily (as a professional reader) and they're still pretty stiff a couple of weeks later. I have small hands so it's sometimes tiring but eventually they'll loosen up. Only issue is the glare that makes the images hard to see clearly when I have my overhead, recessed lighting on, due to the muted colors on the cards. Also, the glare sometimes bothers me in natural light as well. Still 5 stars. though.
