Works perfectly for parking mode and battery protection
This hardwire kit does exactly what it is meant to do. Once installed, it allows the dash cam to automatically switch to parking mode when the engine is off and return to standard recording when driving. The voltage cut-off feature is reassuring and gives peace of mind that the car battery will not be drained. Installation was pretty straightforward if you are comfortable with basic car electrics. The instructions are clear, and the cable length is more than enough to route neatly around the trim. After fitting, everything worked the first time with no errors or connection issues. It feels well-made and reliable, and it integrates seamlessly with the Miofive dash cams. Overall, a solid and worthwhile addition if you want full-time protection without risking your battery.

Good kit. Car electrics knowledge required.
A good complete wiring kit for the Miofive S1 S1Pro/S1 Ultra. In addition to the kit I needed some cable ties and electrical tape to secure and mount the voltage monitor/switch off unit and excess cable. Tools I required were the (included) trim tool, long cable ties (for cable routing), some tape (to secure the USB cable to the cable tie during routing, a socket, ratchet and extension bar (to secure the earth lead fitting to an earthing point bolt) and pliers to cut the cable tie excess. A voltmeter or circuit tester is essential. To fit the kit you need to find two distinctly different fuseways in your fusebox. An ‘always on fuseway’ and a key switched one that only activates when the vehicle is switched on. These don’t need to be empty – the ‘piggyback’ connectors supplied can work on both empty and occupied fuseways. It is critical to find which of the 2 pins in the fuseway are live and to fit the leads so the tail is on the ‘dead’ pin, otherwise the fuse(s) won’t function. The included manual is well illustrated on this. The most difficult part of the fitting was identifying the switched fuseways. On some cars (mine included) the switched fuseways remain live for some time after the key is removed. And something like activating a seat pressure sensor can reactivate them. The solution was to leave the car for 30 minutes, everything off, key out with the back door unclosed. The rest of the fitting was quick and easy.

Good DIY kit for people comfortable with electics
This kit works well. The instructions are clear and easy to follow if you are comfortable with simple electrical work. You will need a multimeter to identify the best fuse slots to use, as the most obvious fuse slots to use might not be suitable due to the additional space the dual fuse holder takes up.

Does its job on the right camera
Actually got this for a friend, who had just bought a two-camera kit and was lamenting that it came with just a basic cable, so if he wanted to power the camera 24-hours, he'd have to sort the hardwire cabling out. It's very useful that you can just buy a complete kit for this, all boxed together with instructions to fit. This is the 'Type-C' kit, so all the cables are USB-C type--something worth checking out before you order, so you know you've ordered the right one. But they have tried to bring together everything you need here. The cables and connectors all seem good quality, and the cable lengths seemed long enough to fit in our four-door hatchback, so I would imagine they'd fit in most standard cars. This is actually for the Miofive S1 Dash Cam, which is the one that looks like a standard camera with the centre-lens and the large rear screen; the kit fit this without any problems--obviously we've only tried it on this camera, and so although it says it can power others, I can't vouch for that. The great thing here is that you can use the hardwire system to power twenty-four hour monitoring when the vehicle is parked, providing the camera with continuous power even when the car is turned off. It took us about three hours and a fair bit of head-scratching to fit, but neither of us are technically minded, so that probably didn't help. We had to go onto the internet for info a few times. So it's not a quick and easy ten-minute fix, it's a full afternoon of mild-to-moderate confusion. But once in it actually worked first time, so if it helps, that means that even idiots like us could get it working (as long as we had the internet). In all, my mate's happy with this, as it gives him access to more of his camera's facilities, and he doesn't have to take up USB ports in the car. On the minus side, I wasn't aware that I'd get roped into helping him install it when I gave it to him... It was a faff to put in, but once in, you never have to think about it again, so all in all we're happy. It did what it said it would.

Don’t be fooled by the pictures, there’s two lengths…
This is too short for most cars. Fitting to a 3 series estate, which has the fuse box just behind the rear seats, you’ll come up short. According to customer services, there’s a longer version, which wasn’t mentioned when I asked for help to get the right kit for my cam. Don’t be fooled by the picture, the connection side of the wiring is nothing like as long as it’s shown. The worst bit is the rear camera wire is so generous in length, why have two hard wire kits and not just be generous??? Just silly. Anyway, I got an extension, at my own expense, which wiped out the Prime Day savings.

Excellent addition for a Miofive dashcam
This is an excellent addition to the Miofive pro dashcam to give some added functionality to the system. The kit comes with 4 different sizes of blade fuse adapters allowing connection to constant 12v and accessory 12v. This allows the camera to turn on and off for normal driving with the ignition, but also allows power to the camera when parked so the parking monitoring system still protects your vehicle. The instructions are adequate and should be followed if you use a circuit that is in use as you will need to have the fuses in the correct positions to protect your devices properly. The cable length is more than adequate to go from passenger or driver side fuseboxes to the centrally mounted position of the camera. This is the usb C model so always ensure this is the correct model for your camera.
