The liner and insert list 14 songs but there are 15, which I didn't notice when the disc was first read. As track 14's fade-out was ending a review was already taking shape in my mind:- "Pure gold. All the songs are good (no 2-chords-only bores), beautifully sung and produced with a variety of backings. Slow and faster songs are well mixed. A CD I'd be happy to play again non-stop from start to finish." Then track 15 surprised me. It's the lively You Really Started Something. OK for dancing I guess but mostly 2-chords stuff with a repetitive backing and too many groans from Luther. Not the grandest finale. I almost felt like groaning myself.

Why do I need to explain anything at all - It's Luther Vandross. With Valentine's Day coming, you know it makes sense! You already know what I mean so stop playing!! Everybody knows "Never Too Much"! If you like that then I suggest you at least investigate all of his releases! And purchase them!!!

I an enjoying this cd very much. I will recommend this cd to anyone who enjoy easing listening music, and Luther Vandross.

My mum loves Luther Vandross and has his songs on repeat most of the time. She seems to like this cd and no issues with it.

Certains considèrent que les 2 derniers albums de luther Vandross sont mauvais! ce n'est pas mon avis! cet avant dernier album meme s'il ne brille pas par son originalité nous délivre le meilleur de cet artiste; une voix de velours sur des mélodies up-tempo voire dance! quant à son dernier album studio "dance with my father", luther Vandross, se sachant très malade, y a jeté ses dernières forces et nous adonné un album avec le duo "endless love "avec mariah carey et une dernière hanson très sensuelle! bref un bel adieu. RIP!

One of the qualities that makes this album so good is the not merely the fact that Luther took so much time between his last studio album I Know but that he also took stock in his musical pros and cons. His music of the 90's had been hampered by bland,samey material that made him sound like the one dimensional vocalist and songwriter....he is not. Not that he had to by this point but Luther knew he was giving the slip to both himself and his audience by playing it so musically safe over the years. This album returns him to a modern day version of the same sort of post-disco urban R&B/soul/funk style that he whipped into his own signiture sound at the start of the 80's. The uptempo tunes on this album are some of the very finest,and funkiest he ever made and could easily work for lovers of a more 70's sound and the music of today:again classic R&B flavors through contemporary means. "Grown Thangs","Say It Now","How Do I Tell You" and the bassy bottomed "Let's Make Tonight The Night" bring out all the best and firey qualities Vandross is truely capable of-offering up the kind of dancable songs Vandross threw down back in the Never Too Much days. There's also a bit more of an edge to the musical production of these songs,a mildly darker tone that takes any possible silken softness from the surface of the songs. That isn't as obvious on the slower material such as "Can Heaven Wait", but at the same time the sad and reflective lyrics to the song offer up a pointed plea rather than a corny sentiment and that's something that points to the gospel fueled flavors with which Vandross began his musical journey to start with. And in terms of even that "Are You There (With Another Guy" and "Love Forgot" really deal with the gospel flavor in his balladry especially with the backup vocals of Cissy Houston and Paulette McWilliams (the original lead singer of Rufus before Chaka Khan joined,by the way). Overall,while as always some songs are stronger than others the overall approch of restructuring his music closer to his original approch for his comeback,to the point of even improving on that sound actually won him far more points than he could've lost with this album if he'd merely decided to follow the trends of the moment.
