Brilliant book for first timers
This book has been recommended by a male friend. He said it was brilliant with explaining all aspects of pregnancy. I’m glad we bought it as our doctor is very busy in case we need more information, all the answers we need are in the book. Good for mothers and fathers. I’m so glad we got it as it’s our first pregnancy!

important book--timeless treasure
This is an age-old classic. Helps any worried mother. Buy the follow-on What to expect the first year and What to expect the second year. 50% approximately of brain development occurs in the first two years of life. Be very careful during this time. The placenta in utero protects if careful as is advised by your health professionals. This book lets the mother know what to expect, which is always reassuring. In the first two years, avoid breast-feeding and cow's milk. Soy milk is too allergenic. Tap water can be risky. Sea water filtered through a coffee filter and then boiled for a hour may be OK. Bottled water probably OK. Goat's milk ok. Rice milk with added powdered protein and liquid baby multi-vitamins may work. Always support the baby's neck for the first six weeks. Goat's milk usually fine but hard to find. May not be good anymore. Protein powder or amino acid isolate must be from avian (chicken or turkey source--fish is too allergenic). Could add pulse (legumes, eg lentils) to rice milk to give complete protein but still need to enrich with baby doses of multi-vitamins. Always measure the baby's head circumference as it should always be increasing at the same rate. I think that breast-feeding may be bad, but honestly do not know. Having a C-section is ALWAYS safest for the baby. GOOD LUCK kindness love go a long way too. Avoid only stimulating the visual spectrum with too much TV or Disney videos. Limit to nature programs for One hour. Start teaching your child things they may miss. Letters numbers. Try to read to them before bedtime. The unborn child should hear music. Continue in the first two years playing your child music. Read to them. Picture books with a picture and one word. "car" is easy to say. "dada" easier than "mama" "bye- bye" make eye contact buy them stuffed animals or dolls. Buy them Duplo then Lego. Avoid letting them use your phone. Avoid buying them a tablet. When age 7 or so get them a cheap laptop with a keyboard. Or a desktop computer. When they are older, have them put together a desktop computer from parts. Tutor them through school. Do not expect them to get much from the classroom. they may they may not. Never ever believe an IQ test. Never ever think your child has no potential as every child has potential. Do not over pressure your child. Give them space. Make them hideouts by placing a sheet over a table. This creates a place of their own. teach them card games. teach them how to fix a car. Do not worry too much about making mistakes. Every parent makes mistakes. Make sure always that your child knows how much you love them, how much you are always on their side. Try to teach them a simple musical instrument like a harmonica or a recorder. Teach them how to have fun dancing to music. Dance away the heartache.......dance away the tears. Let your child cry. Crying is good for the brain, Take them for walks even in the wind and the rain. teach them how to swim. Water is calming to the infant too. Teach them how to ride a bike. Tricycle.
