Why did you pick this product vs others?: As someone who spends countless hours gaming, listening to music, and generally living with headphones on, finding the perfect headset is a journey. For a while, I thought I'd found my audio nirvana with the Audeze Maxwells. They delivered incredible clarity and depth, and for a long time, I was convinced nothing could surpass them. That is, until I got my hands on the Logitech Astro A50 X. And let me tell you, I am beyond pleased with these! Right out of the box, the convenience factor of the A50 X immediately stood out. First, let's talk about the ear pads. Swapping them out is an absolute breeze. It's a simple magnetic attachment that just clicks into place, which is a dream for cleaning or for anyone who likes to switch between different materials for comfort (like a cooling gel option for longer sessions, which I definitely appreciate). This seemingly small detail makes a huge difference in long-term usability and hygiene. Then there's the dock – oh, the dock! It's truly a game-changer. The ease of just dropping the headset onto the base station for charging is incredibly convenient. No fumbling with cables, just a satisfying click and you know it's charging. But it's not just about charging; the dock's features are what really elevate the experience. The PLAYSYNC technology, allowing seamless switching between my Xbox, PS5, and PC with the touch of a button, is pure magic. As a multi-platform gamer, this eliminates so much hassle. Plus, having the HDMI 2.1 pass-through for 4K 120Hz on my consoles means I don't sacrifice video quality for audio convenience. It’s incredibly well-thought-out and executed. Now, for the sound. When I first tried the A50 X after coming from the Maxwells, I'll admit I was a little underwhelmed. The Maxwells, with their planar magnetic drivers, had spoiled me with a certain richness and detail. I thought the A50 X sounded a bit "muddy" in comparison, lacking that precise separation I had grown accustomed to. For a moment, I had doubts. However, a little digging revealed the secret weapon of the Astro A50 X: the customizable EQ settings. I dove into the Logitech G Hub software and started tinkering. And that's when a whole new world opened up. With a few tweaks, adjusting the bass, mids, and highs to my preference, the sound transformed. The A50 X suddenly came alive with an incredible clarity, punchy bass, and crisp highs that rivaled, and in some aspects even surpassed, what I was getting from the Maxwells. The sound staging and positional audio in games became exceptionally precise, which is crucial for competitive play. It was like finally unlocking the true potential of the headset. I am genuinely very pleased with the Logitech Astro A50 X. The combination of its exceptional convenience, particularly the easy ear pad changes and the incredibly functional dock with PLAYSYNC, alongside the ability to fine-tune the audio with the custom EQ, makes for an unbeatable package. It's a headset that truly caters to the modern gamer who values both performance and seamless integration across multiple platforms. If you're willing to take a few minutes to personalize the sound, you'll be as thrilled as I am.

I have owned them for a few days and I am genuinely sad about this, it seemed so perfect, the sound is great, I need a switch for my HDMI inputs, but who in their right mind decides to make a product into a multi HDMI switch and just decides not to put one in the PC slot. I wish I wasn't so upset about this, but this is my ideal headphone setup if someone didn't try to save $3 on production by removing a jack on a $300-$350 headset. If this headset was $100 I would just install it in the xbox jacks and use it as a 2 way switch, but no way am I tolerating this on a $300 setup. "ok but why not just plug in your monitor to your PC separately? that seems like what they want you to do" well because of two things. first, what if you do not have multiple HDMI in on your monitor, as many high end gaming monitors do. Second, if you do have multiple HDMI jacks using multiple of them at a time has issues. Your computer behaves as if it is connected to HDMI making what would have been on the monitor be off the side of the screen. You may need to shut down your computer depending on the tolerance of your monitor for "stealing" the selected input. YOU CANNOT LISTEN TO YOUR COMPUTER WHILE PLAYING VIDEO GAMES, this one would have been an issue either way, but the way that it works now it just ARBITRARILY shuts off your computers audio in spite of it not even being fully connected. Be better Logitech, I used to love you as a company and suggest you to my friends and clients, now I can no longer suggest your products to anybody because between this and the power play 2(see the end for the explanation) and all the other products you have been making worse to save infinitesimal amounts of money, I just do not trust you any more! To address the power play situation, they released a mousepad that wirelessly charges your mouse, then took it off production and made another one that is WORSE IN EVERY WAY FOR THE SAME MSRP, check the prices, at time of writing powerplay 2 is $120, powerplay 1 is above $300 in spite of originally being $120 because nobody who knows what they are talking about wants the 2 and scalpers have a monopoly. Again, I am not talking as a hater, I just feel burned and sad because a company I used to like is falling fast. To address amazon's points, lightspeed has a decent connection range but does not go through walls, it is pretty plug and play, if you can run g hub it will make your life easy, I never got to use the mic, I charged it first and it dropped one dot (goes on a 4 dot power system) in about an hour, so 4 hour battery life? not sure.
