Better than expected
I love coffee fresh beans. The smell. The taste. Everything. I had a barista machine and the old faithful tassimo for when your running late. My wife hates the mess made by the barista machine but I love the coffee so this was a compromise. After reading the reviews I wasn't sure what to expect but my machine is great. First time I used the steamer it fell off so I pushed it on properly and had no issues since. Personal I find it a little weak on the coffee but this is easily solved just make a double espresso or a triple espresso on its strongest setting and it's as strong as the barista machine. I love the easiness of using just press the button and a couple of minutes later nice fresh coffee that tastes great. I have le creuset cup which all fit under the machine with ease so don't do what I did after reading the reviews and get a small jug as cup do fit under with room to spare. Definitely worth it's money I've had it a week now and must have run 60 coffees on it without any problems other than me forgetting to put the bin back properly on the first day and spent 1 hour calling it stupid thinking it was a grinder problem to then find I'm stupid and just needed to push the waste bin in a little more....... so its now been 3 months on and my machine is still working great. Makes about 12 coffees per day or goes though 1kg of coffee per week and still going good no issues with the milk steamer. Great machine

Great Bean to cup coffee machine
Easy to operate coffee wise... Nice size for just the 2 of us. When we have guests, we have to keep filling the water tank up A bit of a pain using the milk frother, but hopefully will get used to it.. And a bit on the noisy side, being in open plan living.

very bad experience!
i had a Krups machine which lasted for 5 years and was excellent, produced lovely coffee and coped with the demands of 4 coffee drinkers in out house without missing a beat. when it finally bit the dust i automatically wanted the same again. this one was the "updated model" which was supposed to be better! - within a year it was playing up and not working properly + leaking. i had to send it back to Amazon for a "repair", came back scratched and dirty. it worked for a bit longer but kept intermittently playing up. the cleaning system never really managed to clean it properly so it gradually got worse until it was just out of warranty and packed up altogether! i will never by another Krups machine, and i will never buy any appliances from Amazon as their aftercare service for repairable items is atrocious.

Barista taste at home
Ok, I probably didn't need this and if Amazon hasn't of had it on such an amazing deal I don't think my partner would have let me get it. And let's be honest, unless you are the type who visits Starbucks/Costa every day you don't "need" one of these either. But if you enjoy your coffee you do definitely want one. So compared to the pod type coffee machines you have the advantage of being better for the planet as you are not throwing away the pods every drink. And if you have a machine where you can get refillable pods this is much tidier as the ground in compressed in to patties and dropped into a container at the side that you have to empty after so many drinks. Cost wise, if you drink cappuccinos or lattes this will work out cheaper and pay for itself very quickly. Well, it will unless you start purchasing really expensive coffees, but I won't tell if you don't. And my latte loving brother expresses how much nicer the lattes are from this machine compared to the pod machines. And while I'm sure it would get boring if I drank then all the time, it is actually quite fun to make the perfect coffee. I drink black coffee and after many bags of coffee it works out that this isn't really very much cheaper than pod machines, but with all the option such grind fineness and amount, amount of water, one cup of two, which can then all be saved so this makes the perfect coffee for me every time. My only complaint is the water tank. You would have thought that they would have come up with something better than the plastic tank strapped on to the back technique that you have to lift over the machine every time. So, did I need this machine? I have been trying to convince my tea drinking partner that I did but no. Is it saving me money? Again, trying to convince my partner that when her sister, my brother or our daughter visits this is much cheaper, but also again, no. Do I regret paying way too much for a machine that is just making Americanos? Hell no.

Great all round bean to cup machine
I spent a lot of time researching and comparing before buying this machine. It was a gift for my boyfriend who like us all loves coffee. This appeared to be the cheapest machine around to do it all, without lacking quality! The machine has functions you can programme to suit your style which is a useful feature when you both have different tastes. Beans are also placed in the top, are grinder and tampered internally (a draw to the side captures the used coffee which we now use in the garden) The machine has a self cleaning function and you can purchase the correct tablets etc to ensure the machine keeps in good working order. Thereโs also a filter that can be purchased separately which especially if youโre in a hard water area Iโd recommend is purchased to ensure your machine lasts as long as possible, not to mention the taste of the coffee. Steam wand to the side to froth your milk works perfectly. Glad with this purchase and saves a few bob on buying Starbucks across the way ๐

Coffee great, frother not so much.
Coffee wise it's brilliant, couldn't have asked for a better machine. The frother side though, it keeps popping off when I'm putting the steam into my milk and the milk ends up everywhere. I've tried making sure its dry and pushed in correctly. Still pops off. After having this machine for a while, I realised, if you blow the steam out for 30secs after you've made the coffee the steam nozzle doesn't blow off as much.

Love it, fantastic machine
I've wanted a Krups machine since 2008 when I first came across them, but could never justify the price tag. I've had a couple of Melitta machines since then and found they made fantastic coffee, but were quite loud and a real pain to clean as there was excess coffee grounds inside the machine from every single use. The Krups machine is more compact, so much quieter, quicker to be available (even though I enabled the flush function which forces water through to clean the machine at start up), it holds more water, more beans and makes a perfect cup. It uses less beans per cup that the Melitta but produces better espresso. Haven't done a clean yet, but it looks like a much simpler process than stripping the Melitta which was required (and if you weren't quick enough the cleaning program would crash out half way). I haven't used the steam function, as I've got a Lavazza milk frother (highly recommended) which takes about the same time to make frothy milk for a cappuccino as the Krups takes to produce 2 shots of espresso. If you plan to use the steam nozzle, you would be better investing in the Krups milk frother jug than using your own jug (or trying to do it in a cup) Overall, I love this machine, it is perfect for me, and with the price being below ยฃ400 for the first time, it's worth every penny

Great design, shame it leaks
I've had a krups for years, always loved the design, coffee was good. Sadly quality has dropped. Machine leaked from the bottom each time I used it. Gave up and sent back.
